GuideMost sites have full hook ups. The electric is in sort of a central pedestal, and people are snaking cords to it 4 campers per pedestal No showers or bathrooms. These spaces are blocked from the wind and feel more private than the Lakeview campground, but you are a bit further from bathrooms/dumpsters. Primitive spaces had a picnic table and fire ring, and you’ll likely find a little “cove” all to yourself. Most people seemed to be RV camping in the sites that provided hookups and water.

What a great surprise after looking at several campgrounds as far East as Dodge City we found this gem.

We stayed here in June for two nights on a road trip north. Front section of spots 1-43 are close to the road and it is very noisy. They made these front sites big rig friendly by using the site next to yours for unhooking your tow or towed vehicle. We were put in the front section due to a large work crew taking up a lot of spaces in the back section. We could not open our awning in the first assigned spot, so the staff was accommodating and moved us over one spot. Come to find out, it is very windy here, so awnings are not used very often. We would highly recommend getting a site in the back. Sites 50-80. Less noise, long pull throughs and nice wide grass areas. The wifi was not very strong or was too busy, so we used our own hot spot. This is conveniently located close to Dodge City attractions.
TravelerI stayed for one night on the site with the covered shelter, and it worked out wonderfully because we had a huge lightning storm in the middle of the night. This is a beautiful and well maintained campground. This particular site would be difficult for family with young children because it is far away from the pit toilet.

Great camp ground with clean and maintained amenities. Having a lake this close is a treat even if it’s not a big lake. I don’t fish but see and hear fish jumping all the time. It’s new so the trees haven’t grown to provide a ton of shade yet but great value for the price and location.

38 Mph wind gusts all night long made for some miserable camping. Not sure if that’s normal around here or not. 305 & 304 are probably the only primitive campgrounds I would stay at, all the others are too close to the road and eachother with no privacy. A permit is required, mine cost $12.75, they can be purchased from the kiosk at the park entrance. Excellent phone service with Verizon.

Worst problem is only one outhouse a bit of a walk away for ALL THESE FAMILIES HERE ON EASTER SUNDAY. They definitely should have had the toilets opened ...lots of kids and where are they hitting the head?
GuideAll hookups function properly, gravel sites fairly level and easy to access. Laundry and showers available, have not used them yet. Bad time of year for exploring the area. Still very arid and dry this spring. No complaints about the park.

ScoutCampground was a little difficult to find the entrance to, but once we found it we had no problems with the rest of our stay. Campground was quite and fully paved. The kids enjoyed riding their bikes and scooters while we relaxed at our spot. Plenty of room to pull in and out of spots. The common buildings were all new and very well kept. Highly recommend if you are in Dodge City.

It seemed like we drove a long time to get here. This was a stop on our way back home from Colorado. It was around 40 some miles from the Interstate& all we saw were fields upon fields & no trees. The husband was grumbling when we turned off on the road to Lake Scott. I felt a lot better when we took the road down into the valley & saw the lake!
This is not our first Kansas state park. We've been to Kanopolis & Mushroom Rocks. Lake Scott is supposed to be Kansas' most historic park. We stayed for 2 nights in the Circle campground. Water & electric. There's a few "seasonal" sites that offer sewer.
As before, there was no one at the gatehouse to check in, so we found our site ourselves. The camp host was never around, but there were a few people in golf carts who waved at us.
The site had some trees & a view of the lake. The site was clean
It was a short walk to the bathroom by the lake. There are flush toilets & showers & I've got to say, they are the filthiest I've seen camping. Apparently it's no ones job to take out the garbage or clean the sinks or toilets.
The beach was fairly crowded both afternoons we were there. I have no idea why anyone would want to swim in that disgusting water, but I guess that's all that's around. My husband says he saw fish jumping, so there is that to do.
This is a pretty scenic park. The rocks & the lake, ect. There was never anyone at the beach store & I found out it's only open on weekends. There was someone at the park office& I got some area info. It was closed by afternoon though. The Steele Home Museum was closed both days we were there.

I stayed here two years ago for 3 nights. Clean restrooms. Quiet (October). As I recall it was free, probably due to the off season. Not much to do or see in town but as a safe place to rest you can't beat it.
ScoutThis was a great VERY quiet get away for me and the wife. Not a lot going on in this area during the winter time but this was the perfect place for us to unplug. Nestled just outside Garner State Park has some great scenery. The dog park and surrounding area could have used some more grass in and around it to help keep the mud out of the RV but the dogs enjoyed themselves. All in all a great place for a get away if you're looking to unplug.

RangerEvrything in the other reviews is accurate except for the water. That review was in August. I am here now in very late November. The water is turned off. But electricity and a flat spot of dirt for 10 bucks is a great deal. The only downside is there is really no view. The land is flat in all directions. There are three ponds in the area which are marked membership only. It looks like they are very low, One is dry. There are four pairs of flat campsites on sandy dirt and a little grass. Each pair share an electric pedestal with 2 30 W outlets. Likewise each pair of sites share a pair of picnic tables under a weather shelter. Outside of town. You can hardly hear the highway
RangerWe stopped on the way home to Colorado. It's cheap, level and has 30 amp power and water. Cell coverage is a solid 4bar 4g LTE with Verizon.
For $10 bucks it works. We came through in November and the water was turned off. It has a bathroom but we didn't use it so I can't report on its condition. The park was clean.
