Beautiful spot, nice staff

This is a tucked away little spot close to the Snake River, that feels totally peaceful and calm. It isn't crowded or bustling like some RV parks, but it has good amenities, and the staff are extremely nice and helpful with ideas for what to do in the area. It's right next to a beautiful view of…

Lots of dispersed camping options

We needed a spot to spend the night on our way back to Montana. Our timing worked out for the Idaho Falls area and Wolverine Canyon came up as an option. It’s all paved road until you get to the mouth of the Canyon, then it’s a well maintained gravel road. A few washboard spots but easy to tow a…

Beautiful cabins

Awesome cabins after a long trip from Florida and camping out of the rooftop tent. Management is very accommodating. In close proximity to Tetons and other local restaurants. Kind of pricey but I think it’s worth it so far.

Very accommodating

So our first day the hot water went out during a 5 minute shower. We were reimbursed the first night and moved to another cabin. Other than that these things are a dream. Very close to restaurants and local areas. Maybe a 20 minute drive to Tetons.

Beautiful campsite near snake river

This site was super clean and had water spigots close by with clean pit toilets. Easy to navigate with our 19’ trailer.

Expanded the Campground

The campground now has 27 sites (as of 2021). Most are first-come, first-serve and a few are reservable on recrecation.gov.  The fee for all National parks has gone up in 2021 and this campsite is now $17/night, $8/night with the Senior Pass, and $8/night for an extra vehicle.  All Food MUST be…

Beautiful Location

We pulled in for one night of tent camping, saw the tent area and decided to rent a cabin! We felt it was a bit to far from rest of sites and were fairly new to camping in the area so we opted for the safer site. Cabin was nice, nothing fancy but came with a bed, bunk beds, a porch swing & fire…

Save your time! Closed!

Needed a place to crash for the night and this place was the closest one. Got to the location only to be blocked by a barrier.

Good place to refresh

Easy in and out with plenty of room to maneuver with trailers. However the distance to hookups is a bit of a stretch. Bring extra water hose and extension cords for some of the sites. I couldn’t make the water hose reach and still be far enough back to be comfortably parked in our site. Fortunately…

Good Campground

First of all, Lava Campground is a wonderful campground. It is clean and well kept. The owners have worked hard over the past three years to develop a campground that is beautiful, warm, and inviting. With that being said, if you are a potential Campground Host, do not unpack your bags. You will…

Beautiful spot right on water

We drove in from Jackson Hole at about 5pm, and immediately found multiple spots that were right on the water with nice fire pits. We chose to drive about a half mile in to find a spot and tent camp. We then walked about another mile down the road before encountering snow. There were ruts in the…
