Camping near Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests

We stayed here for our girls getaway(adults and children). We booked the Alice’s Queen Cottage and Alice’s White Bunny Cottage to accommodate all of us. It was the“best weekend ever” according the little girls and big girls alike! Shannon was the best host you could ask for and every detail of our stay was truly magical! I highly recommend booking a stay. Very close to town(10 minute drive) but far enough away to enjoy nature and tranquility. We will be booking all our future getaways here!! I love the attention to detail that makes everything come to life! My favorite activities were coffee by the stream every morning, relaxing in the hammock every evening, exploring the grounds(adventures), being around the 4 legged residents at the fairytale farm and our own tea party.

This is a great place to camp, we enjoy staying here they also have some tent sites, wifi is a bit spotty which is to be expected since everyone is trying to use it so either use your hotspot or a mobile internet provider and you will be fine, dog park was well kept, playground has plenty of options for the little ones, the splash pad was a hit for our little ones as they enjoyed it, check in was a breeze as the office folks are very informative as to the surrounding place’s you can visit all really at a relatively short drive…your close to your neighbor but not to close “if that makes since”….will definitely stay here again

Check in staff very friendly Site 32 - Nice level site. Plenty of room for us. Back in is not straight so it takes alittle bit of maneuvering(that maybe why it was one of the last few sites available a week out). Very close to the lakeshore. Morning and afternoon shade, otherwise pretty direct sun overhead around noon.

The restroom and shower facilities were clean. Plenty of hot water. Gave it 4 stars only because I thought the swim beach could have been more clear of stuff that washed up. Otherwise a great campground. Would definitely stay here again!

This campground is basic at most. The sites are decent as far as cleanliness and space. It's a rather small campground so you are right on top of your neighbor's and the campground hosts, who in my opinion were nosey and invasive. The "lake" they advertise to be a mere walking distance away, is a very very long trail that you become kind of stuck on due to lack of information. You kind of just start on a little trail that ends up being a 10 minute walk uphill through the woods. It would be completely worth it if it led to a lake to cool off in , but instead you are led to a crappy pond that looks like it's in someone's backyard and convinced that this wasn't the right place I frantically began searching in any and every direction for any sign of this lake we came for, only to be filled with disappointment and then immediate dread knowing you had to trek back to camp . My kids whined and complained the entire walk to the pond and then refused to get in it. I can't say I blamed them

This is a great little place right on the Callusaja River. There's some traffic noise during the day as Highlands Road is right on the other side of the river. But at night there's very little traffic and the river sound drowns it out. This is a small private park with about 4 campsites that are meticulously maintained. We were able to get our 33' coach in there after unhitching our jeep, but I doubt anything much bigger would fit. Max length was listed at 45' at the time I posted this review. But 45' is total rig length. A 45' trailer or 5th wheel is not getting in and out of there without tearing the place up.

Andy, the owner, has had the place in his family since the 1980's. So he knows the area really well. Him and his wife are very pleasant people. We really enjoyed the stay.

Pack a light daypack, park your car and enjoy your 5 mile hike to Len Foote's Hike Inn, sustainable lodging primarily powered by solar panels. Once at the inn, you'll find the composting operation interesting: composting toilets and happy composting worm bins converting leftover food into black gold! Lotta birds chirping, there's a daily bird sighting board in the cafeteria. The informative evening staff presentation was about Coffee growing, distribution and social impacts. Plenty of solar heated water and a supplied towel for my nighttime shower... well done! 

The staff went over and above with service, food was great (pulled pork for dinner), the bathrooms spotless. The trail is sooo well maintained by an AT club... There are lots of roots crossing the trail, if ya think about it just a bit, u'll find the roots cut up the inclines and descents into stair steps. On the hike in, passed 3 friendly dudes moving an eroding piece of the trail a bit higher up a hill. 🙏

A really impressive immersive experience... if u r thinking about booking it, just doooo it!
