Lance Creek on the Appalachian Trail

This campsite is along the Appalachian Trail and is a popular stop. I set up my tent in the newly built camping area. The old part is closed to let nature clean it up a bit. The campsites go along a single path that winds away from the Appalachian Trail. If I would have walked further back earlier that is where I would camp. It's a beautiful place.

This location is popular because it is the last place to camp before the bear resistant food container required area. After camping here it is an easy hike to get through the active bear area and find safer shelters.
