Bay Shore Park is located along the bay at 5637 Sturgeon Bay Rd, New Franken WI approximately 15 miles northeast of Green Bay on State Highway 57, and 30 minutes from Sturgeon Bay (Door Co). We have approximately 110 wooded campsites situated atop the Niagra Escarpment; 90 sites with water and electric hookups, 18 sites with no hookups and 2 group campsites (one with and one without hookups). Our recent stay at Egg Harbor Campground and RV Resort was excellent! The park is well-maintained and kept up, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the sites are excellent by many standards. The park is very quiet, which is a welcome treat.
They are uniquely situated just outside of Egg Harbor, with plenty of the local attractions within minutes of the park. Trolley Tours, Local Farmer's Markets, Local Wineries, and many other attractions are close by. They are centrally located on the peninsula which makes it perfect to see the rest of the county within a 45-minute drive.
I give Egg Harbor Campground and RV Resort a ***** FIVE STAR RATING ***** a must for RVers!

This is a great campground for families with RVs. We stayed in summer of ‘20 and loved it, came back in ‘21 and enjoyed it. Biggest attraction of 3 pools and a water slide were down to 1 pool and the splash pad, which meant crowded pool. Like many things during COVID, delays or back ordered repair supplies are impacting the campground. That said, this is still a great KOA with some full hookups and some w/e. Showers and laundry $$ facilities available. The full hook up pull through are awesome sites- easy in and out, but there are only 6 so book early. We stayed in site 198 last year, and it was a nice wooded site but right on top of neighbors. This year we had 49, which had more open space and some shade for one big tree. This is a very dog friendly campground with a big fenced in dog run and lots of rooms for walks. There’s a bar and restaurant, but with so many great places to go in Door Co I’d skip eating there and enjoy the area. They have 2 tent sites, but these are in an open field with no privacy. I’d pass on sites 95-98 and 133-136 as they back up to the pavilion and offer no privacy. If you’re looking for wooded sites with privacy stick to the sites north of the pools. If you’re looking for open sites for a group of campers, the south part of the campground should suit you.

We visited in mid September 2020 and found the hosts to be very very helpful and friendly. They have been in business here for 10 years and it looks like everything is brand new. We stayed here as part of a month long travel vacation and are likely to come back - so many places to see and so little time. Our site had trees and full hook-ups. For families in warmer weather, we did not see a pool or playground but that is not something we look for in September in northern Wisconsin on Lake Michigan.

The Peshtigo River Campground as it’s name implies, sits on a crook of the Peshtigo River. This makes it a perfect ending spot for the tubing rentals that they offer. The Campground itself is very clean. It has some of the cleanest bathrooms we’ve ever found. It has a small but very open playground. It even has a game room with a SouthPark Pinball that is fully working. There are several full hook up sites that are nicely spaced. All in all, it is a peaceful, clean, well run campground that I highly recommend.
The rent tubes for $14/person. Cooler floats are $8. This includes the bus service to the drop off anytime between 10 and 3pm. I would dedicate 3-4 hours to the tube trip.

Our first trip with our new to us travel trailer. We were assigned site 339 and in our opinion lucked out with the best site possible in our category. We were nicely surrounded by woods with minimal visibility of our neighbors. We walked the park and for full hook up sites the 300s are nice if you're looking for a more secluded/wooded spot, the pull throughs have minimal division from your neighbors. My only complaint is that with dogs it would have been nice to have some grass the entire site was gravel to the tree line. We had to take our dogs to the field for potty as they refused to poop at our site. Firewood is $10/wagon and you must purchase at the park. Multiple nice play areas, my 4 year old had a blast. They had a live band all day Saturday until 9:15 and it made it difficult to get our 4 year old to nap/go to bed even with 2 sound soother on high and a fan running but I will say the band looked fun! Highly recommend the campground as wholw, we will be back!

This is more of an RV park. It has lots of activities for kids etc but when we were there the place stunk. The pond for “fishing” had an odd algae/dead fish smell and the campsite smelled like sewer mixed with manure.
The sites are right on top of each other and you could hear a mouse fart in the other sites.

Beautiful state park with plenty of activities for all ages. We booked a same-day campsite over the weekend in August. That in itself in Wisconsin almost deserves five stars. Absolutely stunning views with miles and miles of hiking and biking trails, surrounded by beautiful lake Michigan coast line. Activities such as golf, plays and musicals at a rustic amphitheater, lighthouse lookout, gorgeous skywalk and a nice beach with incredibly large portions of ice cream for the kiddos.
2 star loss goes against the overhead trees not being groomed for a class A, plenty of tree knocks and scratches getting in and out of the camping area and even the main road. All the amenities restricted RV parking so as we were leaving the grounds we could not enjoy new discoveries found.
I would give Peninsula state park a 4 because of the beauty and awesome amenities; maybe even a 5 if We were tent camping; however there was overwhelming evidence that our Class A was an after thought so a solid 3 is my final review.

TravelerWe stayed in a pull through full hookup 30amp site with our Class C in the fall, and the leaves were beautiful. This campground is very convenient to many of the places in Door County for visitors so we loved the convenience. It is not close to a lake but is near to Green Bay. The campground backs up to a golf course though. Very well kept up and clean, with friendly staff. We will definitely go back again!

If you want to camp without being far from amenities, you can't do much better than Badger Park. I loved coming here as a kid just for the playground which is still the best in the area. The park has half a dozen small trails as well as streams leading to the beach along the Peshtigo River. The nightly rates are reasonable and the sites are great for both tent and RV camping. As is usual in the north, the tall trees in the park's forested portion are especially great in Autumn. You'll be well taken care of at this campground if you're looking for a place easy for the whole family, young and old, to enjoy.

Bay Shore Park was an ok campground. The scenery and Bay were very nice.
The electric and water hookups were on opposite sides of the site, and we had to keep adjusting the travel trailer to get both to actually hook up.
The ground was a sandy-dirt, which wasn't too bad at first, but after an overnight rain it was a muddy mess.

RangerThis campground recently became a KOA. Our site was wooded and spacious, but difficult to maneuver into. We had a W/E site that had a nice fire pit and well placed hook ups. The best part about this campground is the pool area. There are 3 pools- 2 large full sized pools and one kiddie pool and splash pad. Can’t forget about the big water slide too! We enjoyed hours in the pool followed by dinner at the patio seating poolside. A bar/pub restaurant and a well stocked camp store. There are a lot of seasonal sites here, and I didn’t see the tent sites. If you want Door County nature, head to the state parks. If you want a home base with a pool and really nice bathrooms, this place is great. Lots of bike riding, beaches, towns, etc. within a 30 min drive.

Located in Grayling, MI, it is just down the road from Hartwick Pines State Park, tucked back in the woods, away from the highway. It is cheaper, and more layed back than the state park. There's also a small catch and release fishing pond. Our group of friends have been going here for 5-10 years now. There are residents in motor homes that live here all year round, so the facilities are well maintained, especially under the new manager, since he bought the family run company a year ago. He has cleaned up the grounds, opening more room for campers, and has opened up a second bathhouse facility. The original bathhouse comes equipped with hot showers, and there is a place outside for motor homes do empty their refuse. The tent lot is one big open area, and there is no limited space like most other camp sites. There is also water access on them. Some lots have electrical access as well for campers who want to bring there motor homes. There is a small store for supplies for things you might want during your stay, like some groceries, bug spray, sunscreen, and other things. There is also an ice freezer with bags of ice. The grounds aren't that from from town, so if you needed anything else, it'd be a quick trip. It's a good location near both the Manistee and AuSable rivers if you want to go on a canoe/kayak/tubing trip too. I recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.

We have been camping here for a few years now multiple times a year. We love this place. Quiet. Lots to do for kids. Pool, mini golf, game room, tennis courts, soccer, volleyball a rec center with games, TV ect. We love the complete hook ups, no worries about electric, water or sewer. It is alittle more pricy but we will pay more for the amenities. Close to town for whatever you might want to do or explore. We have already booked for next year.
LegendBeautiful large but serene campground in the Peninsula State Park. Each site is very private and nicely spaced from the neighbor. Levelness is variable between sites. Some sites have 50 and 30 amp electric, and some have no hookups. There is a dump station and water fill near this campground, which serves all the campground in the state park. There are a ton of dump holes and lanes, it’s like a costco gas station.
This campground has a kayak launch right at the campground, AND it’s an easy walk from this campground to the Nature Center and to the Northern Sky Theater, as well as several walking and biking trails that wind around through this park. It’s also not too far of a walk to Nicolet Beach where there is a boat ramp and a store and equipment rentals.
Cell service is minimal here, both for Verizon and ATT, service would come in and out, very unreliable, though some texts would eventually go through. We got really lucky and got a spot on a Saturday in August- the entire park (all campgrounds within the park) were completely booked, but right before we pulled up to ask if there was any availability, someone had just vacated their site a night early so we were able to snag it. It’s too pricey at $42/night, PLUS the state park fee of $13/day or $38/year (good through the end of that year, not for 12 months).
Showers were nice and free. Wisconsin is great with recycling and there are mixed recycling bins that take everything, even glass (no plastic bags though).

We absolutely love this campground and it is our first pick when it comes to staying in Door County. It is in the middle of the Door Peninsula and just minutes from anything that you would be interested in doing, including catching amazing sunrises from downtown Bailey's Harbor (Just a short 1.2 mile walk away)! Main road in front of campground is not busy and its very easy to run or walk on without really having to worry about cars.
The campground itself is small (.6 miles of roads if you walk every road in the campground), but the spaces are large with decent space between sites. The entire campground is in the woods, so each site is completely wooded. All roads and campsites are gravel, there is very little grass. If you are looking for grass to play on, they do have a large mowed area in along the road that is perfect. There is also a small playground for kids. Our children have a lot of fun on the playground and just running around our campsite. We don't need a pool, because there is an amazing public beach 5 minutes away in Bailey's Harbor. Other than the playground and very small camp store, there are no other amenities in the campground, but you don't really miss them because there is so much to do around Door County.
There are tent only sites, pull through sites, and sites that will accommodate popup campers up to large pull behind campers. Seasonal sites are interspersed throughout the campground. All seasonal campers that we have met are very friendly. There are two bathroom buildings that have showers, one at the front of the campground and one at the back (which also houses 1 washer and 1 dryer). Bathrooms and showers have always been very clean. There are also porta potties by the tent only camping sites. There are also charging stations by the porta potties, since the tent only sites do not have electricity. Tents are allowed on electric only and water and electric sites. Owners are very accommodating and will allow you to put a camper and tent on the same site also. If needed, there are also sites which allow you to hook up to the septic system or you can drain your tank when you leave.
Campground is dog friendly if your dog is on leash. They do sell firewood for $15 per wheelbarrow full (you fill, so you can get your money's worth on firewood if you stack it right). They do also allow you to bring in your own firewood. Owners allow campers to put charges for firewood and things bought in the store to be put on a tab that you can then close when you check out.
This campground does not fill up too quickly. Depending on the time of year, you don't need much advance notice to book a site. If you would like to book for cherry season they recommended calling 4-6 weeks in advance. Otherwise I generally reserve a few weeks before arrival. They do provide a campground map on their website, so you can look ahead and choose your site. If you want one of the larger sites (pull through ones), I would suggest calling sooner rather than later because it sounds like those fill up faster.

We are spending a month at Holtwood Campground Oconto, in our motor home, while preparing our boat for winter storage. Loving it here! Spacious sites and nice view! Office staff are so very helpful and patient with me. Just love those girls! And the groundskeepers are constantly working on the landscape. We will for sure be back in 2020!

We are pop up people and love that, while campers love their big trailers these days, Nicolet bay has stayed the same. Not many of the sites have electric. We’re okay with that. Not much is the way it was in Door county, but this state park is a good one. The bethrooms are nice and clean the showers are good.

We stayed at site 55, a wooded pull thru with water and electric. Nice abs centrally located. The pools are all closed this time of year but the fishing pond and swimming pond are still open. No drive in movie either. We were able to get golf clubs and balls for mini golf and take a pedal car by leaving our ID at the desk in the garage. Very large campground. We will be back in season for more fun! Great for families.

General: Located along Sturgeon Bay in the southern part of Door County, Potawatomi’s Daisy Field Campground is divided into two loops: north and south. In addition to paying the campsite fee, you need to pay a daily ($11) or annual ($38) for an out-of-state fee (slightly less for residents). The gate attendant tried to charge us for three days - we were camping for two nights but we convinced him this should not be the case. These additional fees are making private campgrounds much closer in cost and a bit more desirable. Note: you are near the Door County regional airport; we heard many planes in the early evening, but it quieted down later.
Site Quality/Facilities: 125 sites in two loops. Gravel pads except for the two handicap accessible sites in the south loop plus one handicap accessible cabin in the south loop. Be aware that in the south loop, many (but not all) of the even-numbered sites on the north side (10-46) slope upward and/or sideways while many of the odd-numbered sites (33-43) tend to slope downward. The sites on the south side of the loop appeared to be more level. Our site (40) was challenging for our camper van to find a level spot (it tended to slope sideways no matter what we did). Even-numbered sites in the north loop (86-102) appeared to be more level and they have a filtered bay view but they are right on the road. Each site has a fire ring and large picnic table; some are electric and some with no hook-ups. The sites are all wooded and there is reasonable separation between them. There is a nature center, camp store and sports rentals available between the two loops. Firewood is also available for $7 a bundle.
Bathhouse: There is only one bath/shower facility between the two loops which was not nearly adequate for 125 sites (this is not the first Wisconsin state park we’ve been in that has had only one bath house for the entire campground). It was reasonably clean, but it looked like their idea of cleaning was to blast it with a power hose as the floors, sinks, and toilets were extremely wet just after cleaning. The showers were ok, but you have to keep pressing the button every minute to keep the water flowing. There are several vault toilets – I saw two in the south loop and one in the north loop.
Activities/Amenities: Several hiking trails lead directly from the campground. We hiked the Ice Age Trail from the campground to the observation tower but were dismayed to discover it is permanently closed due to structural issues. There are sport rentals (bikes, kayaks, etc. available) which is a nice amenity.
Don’t get me wrong – we enjoyed our stay here but with state parks increasing their costs (especially for non-residents), it was only $7 less to stay here in a tent site than it did at the private campground we stayed at the previous night with more amenities and cleaner/more modern bathrooms.

Based on the one review posted in 2018, I would never have considered camping here. Coincidentally, we stopped at this city park for lunch and decided to check out the campground. I thought it worthwhile to give it a little more love than it had previously received!
Perhaps in 2018, it was not a designated campground but now has nine sites required to be reserved. All have electric hookups and the price of $20 is reasonable. It is part of a larger city park near a road so you will hear some road noise but it was not too bad. There were a lot of trees providing shade.
I was not able to access the bathrooms or shower as you need an access code so cannot comment on their quality or cleanliness.
There were no amenities in the playground itself but since it is part of a larger city park, there are activities you can avail yourself of there.
RangerA friend and I went on a month long bike tour, and this campground was my favorite! The staff was friendly and helped us pick out the best spot for our tent. The bathrooms were brand new and very clean. Showering only costed a quarter for 6 minutes. It felt like they just charged so that the water wouldn't be left on for too long.
There were brand new laundry facilities too ($4 total to wash and dry -$2 wash, $2 dry) which is just what we needed on the bike tour. Our $25 tent site had an electric hook up. There was wifi and a camp shop. There is also a river to swim in with very cheap kayak, tube, and paddle board rentals. We were also informed that there was a pool and a basketball court near by.
Overall, it was a lovely experience and was well priced. I also noticed that they did an excellent job with ADA access when it came to the bathroom/laundry, camp store, and campsites.
GuideWe thought we had a small site- until we got there. Site 86 is the smallest on the map but it is not small at all! We have a 33 1/2 ft 5th wheel and had plenty of space. We could have had some tents on the site if we wanted to! The fire pit was away from the level area the RV is to be parked. The electric and water were a little farther away than typical but not too bad.
The owners are awesome and worked with us on our reservation- my friend set the site and I paid for it later. Everyone we spoke to with a seasonal site was very nice and helpful. The campground was quiet for the most part. You could hear there were people were out at their sites but no one was being loud or obnoxious. It was perfect!
Tubing was a bit of a different experience to start off but ended good. We waited for about 40 minutes for the bus. Once the bus came, everyone piled on. We had our own tubes so we put them on ourselves as well as our cooler. We rented two cooler tubes- one for my cooler and one as a “dry” area. We we’re on the bus for about 25 minutes due to too many people getting on and two large groups having to decide who was getting off. Once we arrived at the drop off site- all the cooler tubes were grabbed right away. They made sure we got both tubes we paid for before we pushed off down the river. I was very thankful for this!!!!! My personal tube popped half way down the river due to it being old so I’m very happy we had the other two tubes!
The river was nice! Low in some spots but we never had to get out and drag our stuff. Some trees to paddle around occasionally, but nothing out of the normal.
One thing I was surprised at was this campground does not have a bar and or grill.

Wouldn't consider this an rv site. Very small spaces ( 16 ) right by the road. NO DUMP STATION AT ALL. No garbage dumpster. Water and electric only. I thought they had to have a dump station by law to be an rv place. They said in 2018 they were working on it. Charged extra for 50 amp service. If you just want to pull in for the night and sleep it's ok. Would not recommend.
