Nice place. Well kept. Staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcomed to be here. Kelly at office was great! The sites are a bit tight for a big rig and not much space as other sate parks but worked well for an overnight stay.
This is a city park in Grand Prairie, TX and reminds me of many state parks I’ve been to with larger trees and plenty of shade. The swimming and playground were nice and the camp store was well stocked.
One of the best parks on Lake Whitney.
Of course as the name suggests, a great way to learn about prehistoric creatures and a chance to see their footprints, it has an amazing river access to swim or relax during the day! The water is clean and not too deep, but gets deeper near the blue hole to swim.

This may be a great campsite but for us it was terrible. When we arrived at 11pm the gates were locked with no one in site. Was supposed to be a one night stopover with a morning swim. Ended up at the rest stop instead. Not a single word about late arrivals at the gate or on recreation.gov.
First the bad. The restrooms/shower's are not on the priority list, not cleaned regularly and to think we're dealing with COVID. Privacy curtains at the showers were missing. The soap holder in the shower was dirty on Tuesday 7/26/'21when we arrived and was still dirty when we left that Friday…
Great experience floating the river with all my buddies, very chill. Everyone one the river was so nice and happy, it was like everyone knew each other, very humbled by the joy of it all. Would do it again anytime! Everyone was having one great big huge party 🎉.
Have visited several times, we purchased park pass as they charge daily fee of $10 per vehicle. Joe Pool lake is part of park. It’s a big park, lots of good spaces. We stayed at site 190. It’s at end of road with privacy. Our only complaint on this site is when it rains, water pours into site and…
Spacious walk-out site. Real hot in July (as expected for Texas). Fire ring and lantern like available. Overall lovely site at a great park.

This is a great campsite!! You only have one neighbor but they are across a small parking lot. You have access to a fishing dock and an entrance to Bosque Trail. The only negatives are the bathrooms are a 5 min drive away and the campsite ground was very rocky so make sure you have a good air…

Clean spacious sides, just off the highway but not to close. We spend one night on our way west.
Friendly staff at check-in. We stayed in campsite 29 which is kind of elevated a bit and we had a great view of the lake. Even tho it rained quite a bit we still enjoyed ourselves. Local sheriff’s dept and park ranger made several trips through the park which made it feel secure. Bathroom…
We love this Jellystone! We are full time travelers with young kids and they love this RV park. There are sooo many fun activities (be warned, the cost can add up). The staff is super friendly and very helpful. The adjoining water park is a blast. We prefer the older part because of the trees that…

We stopped here with our 38’ travel trailer for an overnight on our way north. The ranger at the gate was very friendly and informed us that due to flooding and the lake being 7 feet above normal, all the trails and boat dock were closed.
We had a nice shady site, #224, in Loop G, which was easy…

Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice little pool. Several small fenced dog parks. Well kept grounds. Nice pull through concrete pads that are level.
