    Lake Park Campground

    Nice Place

This place is well-maintained and a fairly nice park. Family friendly and there is a lake and playground within walking distance. The staff is courteous. We did not use any of the facilities, except dump station.

There are specific sites for 30 and 50. The middle spaces for 30 amp have no shade. For 50 amp avoid sites 59-63, 0 shade. There are no sewer hookups at the site. Only dumping station.

Reservations is done by calling the park, no online.

    Holiday Park Campground

Hard to Believe You’re Next to a Big City

When we got to Benbrook, we used the campground(CG) website instructions as we didn’t see any signage for the CG on US377 coming in from the east. We turned right onto Pearl Ranch Rd and followed it to the Holiday COE entrance about 2 miles straight down the road. Check in was easy and the guy who checked us in was very informative. We needed to fill our freshwater tank and he pointed out on the map the two dump stations with potable water. We proceeded to the dump station just inside the gate to find out there was not a potable water spigot just the usual rinse hose. We went back to the entrance and he informed us the park ranger had told him they are on well water and thus the water at the dump station was safe, even though there was a sign clearly stating it was not safe to drink. We were then told we could go to an empty camp site that had water hook-ups and fill up there, which we did. Not sure what we would have done if this had been a busy weekend with all of the water sites full. We then proceeded to pull through site 72 with 30/50 AMP. There was plenty of space for our 39’ fifth wheel and F-450 on the asphalt pad. The site had a covered cement patio with picnic table, and bbq/fire pit that we couldn't use due to a burn ban. Site 73 was the only other site in our little cul-de-sac. For the intent of this review, we toured the campground specifically looking for free standing water spigots, but didn't find any. The showers/restroom were old but in workable shape. If you want to stay where we did in sites 72-75 they were definitely electric only, contrary to what other reviews mentioned. There were water spigots at the sites but they had been capped off. Sites 76, 77,& 78 were also electric only and sat up on a hill with a slight lake view but are across the street from a neighborhood that backs up to the park. Sites 83- 93 had water and electric as well as some of the sites near the front of the park. We got 3 bars on Verizon and a whole bunch of OTA channels. We enjoyed the view of the lake and privacy at our site since we were the only ones there the whole time of our stay during the week.

    Dinosaur Valley RV Park

    Loved it!

Every site is pull through with full hookups and has a fire ring & picnic table! Staff was very friendly and store had all the essentials. Clean restroom and shower (1 stall), pet friendly and beautiful pool/ hot tub. Right across the street from Dinosaur World (which our 2 year old loved) and outside the gates of Dinosaur Valley State Park. Will definitely be back.

    Traders Village RV Park

    Clean and big

We stayed 4 nights in site 24, PT FHU on a level concrete pad with a picnic table and plot of grass. $40/ni after Good Sam. The park is split into two sections; the side we are in is next to an airfield and the other side is by a small dog run (next time, I'll request this section bc I'm traveling with my dogs). They have a store and the laundry is clean and well priced ($1.25/wash, $0.25/12 min dry). The wifi is strong and the park is quiet. There are some long term, possibly permanent, tenants, but their sites are well kept.

    The Vineyards Campground & Cabins

    Very nice

Our site had a concrete pad for our rv. Full hookups are very nice. While we were here nightly thunderstorms came in. The staff were on top of it as they drove around alerting everyone about the wind approaching. Clean laundry room and restrooms. We didn’t use the store due to corona fears and didn’t need to. Pet friendly. Quiet at night. I would absolutely stay here and recommend it to anyone. The only spring time issue is lake flooding will close it.

    Treetops RV Resort

    Great stay!

We really enjoyed this park. It’s very clean and quiet. The trees are beautiful and add great shade. Most of spaces are pull through and very easy to setup at. We had a fire pit and picnic table. The bath houses are nice and private. We used the laundry services and everything worked properly. The staff is very friendly and easy to access in case you need something. Fitness room is little but updated and clean. My boys jumped in the pool even though it was 55* outside and said it was a fun experience. Easy access to Target just around the corner, Parks mall is close by and Arlington Highlands shopping is really nice! The road into the park is only 2 lanes with no shoulder, but as a Michigander I’m finding Texas roads to be interesting 😅 WiFi worked for my family of 5 the majority of the time for simple things. Hubby works remotely and went to Panera for stronger/faster service.

We did stay in 2 spaces as we extended our stay and someone had previously booked our space.

Guide to Crowley

RV campgrounds near Crowley, Texas provide convenient access to both urban and natural attractions throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Most parks sit at elevations between 650-750 feet, with the area experiencing hot summers where temperatures regularly exceed 95°F. Several parks feature mature shade trees that provide critical relief during summer months when sites with natural coverage become premium accommodations.

What to do

Visit state parks nearby: Dinosaur Valley State Park offers river access directly from Dinosaur Valley RV Park. "You do not have to enter DVSP to enjoy the Paluxy River. Guests of DVRVP can access the river by following a small trail at one corner of the park by the entrance of DVSP. Our family spent a whole day in the river a minute walk from our camper," notes one visitor.

Explore local attractions: The Arlington entertainment district is easily accessible from RV parks in the area. "Located in Arlington smack dab in between D/FW. Just down the road from the Cowboys Stadium. 25 minutes to downtown Dallas and 20 to Fort Worth," explains a camper at Treetops RV Resort.

Shop at weekend markets: Traders Village combines camping with shopping opportunities. "This location has all your needs for as long of a stay you ever need. Propane refill station, fuel station, a store, hair shop, laundry mat, showers and restrooms. Not to mention, one of the biggest flee markets around and it's 2 days of walking and shopping," says a reviewer about Traders Village.

What campers like

Spacious sites with mature trees: Many RV parks in the area feature established shade trees, particularly valuable during hot Texas summers. "Beautiful tree filled park. Super well maintained with a mix of pull through and back in sites. There is a ton of shade, a pool, dog park and on site very tidy laundry room with Apple Pay machines," reports a camper at Treetops RV Resort.

Level concrete pads: Well-maintained sites with concrete pads are common at RV campgrounds near Crowley. "Level concrete camp spots. The FHUs were in good working order," notes a reviewer at Cowtown RV Park. Another camper adds, "Nice pull through concrete pads that are level."

Family-friendly amenities: Several parks offer amenities specifically designed for families. "This campground is very family oriented, playgrounds, a 'real' fort, teepee, basketball court, hiking trails, and a huge family pool. There's also a grown up only pool with a hot tub!" shares a visitor to Dinosaur Valley RV Park.

What you should know

Seasonal considerations: Texas heat requires planning during summer months. "We were in site 412: on the newest 'row'. I will say that there is zero shade and no grass but the older spots had some rooted grass," notes a camper at Dinosaur Valley RV Park.

Limited availability at smaller parks: Some parks have very few spots available. "Great spot conveniently located walking distance is from Eagle Eagle Mountian Lake. Across the street from a convenience store with food kitchen. It only has seven spots so it's very quiet and well kept," explains a reviewer of Lake Life Rv Resort.

Park rules vary: Pet policies and fire regulations differ between parks. One camper at Dinosaur Valley RV Park mentions, "2 pet limit per site. We would love to bring all three of our dogs. One is tiny and is an incident dog."

Tips for camping with families

Riverside activities: The Paluxy River provides natural recreation. "We loved the location of our spot = EASY access to the river (path was directly across from 411) and it was great for hanging out in the water. Shallow with shelves to sit on. Suggest water shoes for traction but our kids had a great time," shares a family at Dinosaur Valley RV Park.

Proximity to attractions: Many parks are situated near family-friendly destinations. "Dinosaur World is literally across the street (easily walkable) and Dinosaur Valley State Park is an easy drive. Fossil Rim is about 15 min away but some road construction can double that (make reservations online pre-arrival)," advises a parent.

Pool options: Swimming pools are available at several campgrounds. "They have separate adult and kids pools + a pretty good playground with great umbrellas for shade at the kids pool, plus a nice little water feature that the kids loved," notes a family staying at Chisholm Trail RV Community.

Tips from RVers

Easy access to shopping: Urban conveniences are readily available near most RV campgrounds in Crowley. "Target, Walmart and other services typically within a 5-10 minute drive from most parks," notes one experienced RVer.

Extended stay options: Several parks accommodate longer stays. "Option for extended stay. Bath/shower rooms. Swimming pool. And TREES," comments a visitor at Treetops RV Resort.

Easy pull-through sites: Many parks feature pull-through sites for easier maneuvering. "All sites are pull thru (approx 80') with a lot of space between spaces. Grass is about 80% in for the pups," shares an RVer about Dinosaur Valley RV Park.
