Weatherford-Fort Worth West KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Shaded sites and full hookups define the experience at this KOA stop just off the interstate outside Weatherford, Texas. Pull-through sites accommodate rigs up to 60 feet, and the wide internal roadways make maneuvering large coaches manageable. Sites sit close together, closer than many comparable campgrounds, so campers traveling solo or in pairs will feel the proximity. The grass stays mowed, and the bathrooms and showers are consistently reported as clean, even if some of the picnic tables and trees show wear.

On-site amenities include a pool, a dog park, and a small playground. WiFi is available, and the campground runs year-round with full electric, water, and sewer hookups. The store closes early, around 3 p.m. on some days, so stocking up beforehand is worth planning for. Nearby, Walmart — Weatherford Supercenter and Cracker Barrel — Weatherford give travelers quick access to supplies and food.

Staff responsiveness has varied across reviews, though recent visitors note the owner went out of his way to accommodate late arrivals. "Super friendly staff, worn out but clean budget KOA," notes Susan B., which captures the general consensus well. An RV repair facility sits next door, a practical detail for anyone pushing through on a longer haul. This campground works best as an overnight stop for RV travelers passing through the Fort Worth corridor who need reliable hookups and a known quantity.

One night stay

We arrived late and they were supposed to be closed because it was July 3rd and sign said they would be closed that day , but the owner not only took us in but was extremely nice ! He even opened up again at 10:30 pm to give us a bag of ice . Very thankful for his hospitality. The campground met everyone of our needs

Needs some work

Generally I’ll stay at a KOA for a night when traveling through. They are like McDonald’s, nothing special but you know what to expect. This one was below par even for a KOA. We arrived just at 5:00 pm but the office was already closed. Didn’t see any staff before we left in the morning. Out checking information was available on the bulletin board. A sign said there were no more available sites, but there were clearly over 40 empty spaces. Many of the sites need new picnic tables, and the trees are full of dead branches. However the grass was mowed. Sites are very close together. Closer than most. There is a grassy dog park. There is also the a playground- a swing set! Also a pool which appears functional. Bathroom and showers were adequate. !

There is an RV repair facility next door.

Convenient

Close to shopping. Full hook ups with trees galore. Quiet. Large coach accommodations with multiple pull thru sites. Large roadways allow easy access to the sites.

Stayed an extra night just because we loved it

City camping on a quiet secluded campground. The campsites are shady with electric, water, picnic tables and stocked fire rings. The pool, grounds, and restrooms/showers are clean. The staff is friendly. We loved this place so much we stayed an extra night.
