Winter recreation: Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort transforms into a ski area during winter months. "Ride the ski lifts up to the top of the mountain then you get to bike down it, they have rental bikes available or bring your own. You can also Zip line or swing through the trees if you would rather," explains Lois.

Clean facilities: Pinch Pond Family Campground receives high marks for maintenance. "Nice, forested campground. Friendly staff, clean bathhouses. Sites well maintained but ours wasn't level," reports Kathy L. who stayed at the campground.
Quiet atmosphere: Many cabin campers appreciate the peaceful settings available in the region. "By far my favorite campground in PA. Staff was nice & showed us to our campground, hauled our firewood, and checked in regularly to make sure we didn't need anything. Swimming pools: Several rv campgrounds near Tamaqua maintain pools for summer recreation. "Their pool looked very nice although we did not use it. Same with their patio set up around the store. Hands down I would stay here again!" shares Jonathan F. about his experience at Stonybrook RV Resort.

There are a lot of really neat and different rentals here like a tree house, double decker bus, among others," shares Jen R.
Playground access: Look for campgrounds with dedicated children's areas. "This campground had been let go with poor management for many years, HOWEVER the new management and staff have really turned it around!! The grounds are beautiful and free of trash, the cabins are beautiful and clean," reports one camper about Robin Hill Campground.
Game rooms: Many locations provide indoor entertainment options for rainy days. "Their game room has tickets. This is the one and only campground we have ever visited that gave tickets for playing games and my kids LOVED IT! It was like camping and going to chuckie cheese at the same time," explains Melissa Y. about her experience at Pinch Pond Family Campground.

Utility access: Water quality varies between campgrounds. "We were in E row and every camper there had front end 4 foot off the ground. Many other sites were the same. The walk to pool and all other amenities was not pleasant due to hills," shares Justin B. about his camping experience.
Dump station locations: Plan ahead for sanitation needs. "Not sure about other sites but ours had a big 'tank' that was used for sewer hookup instead of group connection as did all the sites around us," reports Linda F. about Robin Hill Campground.
Service restrictions: Some campgrounds have limited amenities. "The sites are a little close together but they are angled so you have just enough privacy. This RV park was nice. They are expanding and upgrading sites," shares Luis B. about Stonybrook RV Resort.
