Great campsite, close to the main road yet very quiet with nice short hikes and picturesque landscapes.
Blue Rocks family campground is close to I78 however it is still off the beaten path. It is very peaceful to camp here as you have different types of environments. You can be down near the creek and in the open more, in the wooded areas, or you can be near the corn field and glacier rock field. Our campsite had a great view of the glacier rock field and the corn field. Upon arrival we realized that our camper was not going to fit on the site we reserved. The office was very easy to work with and we easily traded sites. It worked out great as we were able to get a full hookup without having to pay anything extra! There were bath houses close by however they were still closed. The outhouses however we open for use which was nice for our friends who were tent camping. There is really something for everyone at this campground. There is a pool, playground, arcade, fishing pond, glacier rock field to explore and hiking trials. Not to mention a great place for bike riding as well. Our friends were able to camp right aside of us in their tent and use our RV site for cooking and campfire. We really enjoy it at this campground and are looking forward to going back again. We even staked out some of the good sites so next time we know exactly what we will be getting.
Blue rocks is the best family campground within 5 hours of philadelphia. Hands down. They have everything you need from primitive sites to cabins to rent. The staff is always friendly and it’s always great time. I can’t wait to go back.
We wanted to try a campground that wasn’t too far away for our first trip. Blue Rocks was pretty nice overall. When we were there it was April so most of the facilities were not open yet. Facilities that we did use seemed decent though. We really enjoyed our view of the boulder field from our site and we enjoyed climbing around on the rocks. My wife and i hiked up to the overlook from the back of the campground during the off season but during our camping trip we decided to take the short drive to Hawk Mountain instead because is a much easier hike for our son.
Stayed here 3 days and 2 autumn nights. Our site was nice, though not very defined as far perimeters. We were in the horseshoe row housing a few 5th wheels and small travel trailers in one corner. We were one of the smaller travel trailer in the corner. Nice and no real complaints aside from not being super scenic.
Bathhouse was newly remodeled and very nice. A lot of amenities scattered throughout the campground to check out. The highlight of the campground is the River of Rocks. It truly is a surreal sight. Kids had fun exploring. The campground is a few minutes from a AT trailhead.
If we stayed here again, we tried to get a more scenic site along the creek or nestled in the woods a bit more. Overall a great experience.
Pool and facilities are top notch. Perfect access to the AT with support. Boulder field for exploration. Also great place to stay for hiking the Pinnacle at sunrise.
Title says it all. Great place to tent camp and go hiking. I took my girlfriend there and now she's my wife! Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not!
This campground was great. So much to do here. Hiking was great, climbing on the rocks was a lot of fun and the pinnacle was such a beautiful view. Loved our time there.
Great campground with lots of amenities. The staff was friendly, the store had essentials and more, and there was great hiking right from the grounds. Our site was a little rocky so he prepared with a good mat/mattress if tent camping. Our site was on a little stream which was relaxing. All around great private campground.
