Great Campground

We very much enjoyed our time here. It was beautiful. A dry campground with no hookups and no water (water is available at the lower Lake Alice campground and showers st the park entrance). Vault toilets were clean, sites nicely spread out with covered picnic tables, fire circles and bear boxes…

Amazing Campground

Amazing site with all of the amenities. Nice, clean bathrooms and SHOWERS! Gazebo over the picnic table to help you out if you visit during monsoon season like us. Best sites 22-25 with beautiful views overlooking the canyon. Potable water across from lake Alice Campground. Firewood for $5 from…

Great campsite!

Recently stayed at the Tolby site at cimarron state park and we had a great time. Mike, our camp host was awesome and had some great information about the area. Clear creek hiking trail is a short drive away and was a beautiful and totally doable 3 mile trail for our 3 young girls. The fishing in…

Rustic Camping along the Rio Grande

Camping in the Gorge! Several sites available all along Route 570. We stayed at a primitive area right at Taos Junction. Clean bathrooms—great camp host. Very hot during the day so make sure you have some shade, no shelters. Beautiful camping right next to the river!

Super spot

Great park sites are level and clean with good shade. The new owners are doing upgrades and are very pleasant to be with. We are looking forward to returning again for a great stay

A real gem!

We only stayed the night but we are definitely coming back for longer stays. It is not a big campground but we’ll laid out and accessible. The sites are close and level but it’s the views! You are up in the mountains and have a fantastic vista views. There is a short hiking trail with swings…

Great Views and quiet

Great spot that is quiet and has great view of lake and Mountains all around. Cool at night and just right during day. All the RV parks around here that have good reviews are way too close together. I am glad I didn’t go by the reviews as the trailers are almost touching. There is no water or…

Happy Surprise

We were happy with the primitive campsites available. Plenty of wildlife to see around the area and a very quiet place to set up camp.

Camp host great, specific site not

We arrived at site #14 to find that there was no good place to set up a tent. It was full of rocks. Since you had to reserve your spot online there was no other option to move sites so we could put up a tent. The camp host was understanding and helped us find a place to set up our tent, but we…

Beautiful and isolated

Not really RV accessible, the drive down the canyon is pretty sketch in a couple of spots if driving a big vehicle or even a vehicle with a trailer.  Beautiful, though.  Summers can be hot, so be careful.

lovely hidden gem

We stayed here over July 4, 2021.  The campground was mostly full until Sunday (July, 4) and then cleared out. It stayed quiet even when full, though.  I wondered how rough the roads were, but driving from Castillo to the campground and then on to Hwy 64 east of Cimarron on 1950 was all very doable…

nothing fancy, but a good overnight stop

This KOA felt a little aged, but it was clean, quiet, and felt safe.  We did arrive after a rain storm and our site was mostly a large mud puddle.  The parking slots could use a new layer of gravel.  There's a smaller playground which are son enjoyed. Across one road was a large field that gave us…

Overnight Stay

We stopped here for an overnight stay. Pull thru & back in with full hook ups with 30/50 amp sites. Bathhouse with showers & laundry room as well. Gates close at dark so if you are arriving after dark you will not be able to get in. Back in sites look over the freeway but you can also see…
