When we saw the listing we were really excited to stay there: it had a canvas tent and is on Deer Isle (relatively) near Stonington. As we drove out there we realized that is was in a pretty remote part of the island, which was not what we were expecting.
The Con: When we arrived we were shocked…
Large sites, mostly level. Many seasonal. Many cabins. Near Baxter state park.

Perfect campsite for day hiking! We got in late and left early but had a easy set up and plenty of space to explore. Gulf Hagas trailhead with in 10 minutes from site my site. Lots of other various campsite along rivers/lakes within the area. Bring cash for the checkpoints to enter the Katahdin…

Friendly staff. Online check in did not work. No space between sites. My picnic table and fire ring were 6 feet from next sites sewer connection Small beach
The owners of this campground are the best. Ask them about their life story! All the things you need are there - firewood, water, bathrooms and showers, and even electricity at the site. Only thing is the sites are small and close together. I was there when it was still cold and was the only person…
We came here and extended our stay due to the outstanding service the maintenance gave us with our 40’ rv coach. Very accommodating staff and clean quiet park!
We pulled up at around 7:30pm and found most campers sitting out of their RV’s enjoying the night. It was a little intimidating being our first time camping but we checked in and rolled down to our site right on the water. It was a bit breezy but the view was amazing and it wasn’t too windy for our…
Even though the sites are close together, it’s quiet. There is a small beach at the lake where you can swim and kayak (for rent). People at the office are very nice, polite and accommodating. Good cell reception.
Rick (the owner) is very accommodating, plenty of full hookuo sites and also another section with just W/E.
Very nice, but expensive and very close quarters
My first impressions of this park were not very good. When you drive in it looks a little run-down with old buildings, potholed roads, untrimmed vegetation, and very rustic. There are lots of seasonals driving around in golf carts drinking beer and lots of nightly gatherings. But throughout the…

LOVED this place. SUPER friendly staff. Arcade and well stocked store. Heated pool, campfires, tractor rides. Lots of permanent sites, but friendly, outgoing people!
I’ll preface this by saying that we got in after dark and left by 10am so this review is limited. First, while being very nice the front desk worker was not very helpful in helping us understand the layout and our best choice for tent camping that night. She was just not very communicative. After…
Base camp to Katahdin, close in to Millinocket. Went with a diverse group of campers with hammock, tent and cabin sleeping preferences and everybody found their spot.
Pros are: clean (like super clean) showers and bath house, fire pit and picnic table at each site and cabin, super helpful,…

Beautiful riverfront campsite (Site 21). The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is not access to the river from this site, there is a 10 foot drop, so toddler and dog parents beware.
