Sitting on the north shore of Little Moose Pond in the Little Moose Unit of Maine's public reserved lands, this free, hike-in campsite is reached via the Little Moose Ponds Loop Trailhead on Old Squaw Road, roughly a mile from the trailhead along a well-marked, orange-blazed trail. The site sits in a wooded area that provides shade and some privacy, with open sightlines toward the pond and the southern hillside. Amenities are minimal: a picnic table, a fire pit, and a basic toilet seat mounted on a wooden box. Water comes from the pond only, and a burn permit is required before lighting a fire. The site is first-come, first-served with a 14-day limit, and campers must pack out all trash. Those who find it occupied can check availability at Big Moose Pond Campsite, about half a mile back on the trail. Campers planning a longer stay in the region can explore camping near Greenville Junction for additional options in the area.
