ScoutThe campsite is right by the train tracks to Miami, and it feels like the train is barreling through your van. This goes on all night, thanks to a few railroad crossings with plenty of honking!
GuideFREE stay, register at the SFWMD site and request a permit. Each site has a fire pit and picnic table. Various trees at the camp sites to provide shade. First come first serve. Two cars, two tents, 6 people max per camp site. The sites surround a pond. I didn't use the compost toilet so I don't have an opinion. I couldn't locate the faucet, but supposedly there is one. You need the code for the combination lock to open the gate which is included with the permit. There is a short trail spur maintained by the FTA that connects the family campground to loop 1. Supposedly you are able to take a shower at the equestrian campsite down the road. Will definitely stay again.
ScoutThere are no tents allowed here. They have tents that are already set up on platforms and they have holes all over the sides and bottoms, so they are not sealed properly and full of mosquitoes. If you are a camper, absolutely by all means please avoid this park.there are no usable restrooms. Also, you have to park in a parking lot and then walk over a bridge to get to your tent and carry everything on foot.
TravelerBooked a reservation while traveling thru the area. Easy access of I-95 or FL turnpike. Good lot size, concrete pad for parking wide enough to sit with awning extended. Very clean restroom and shower house. Numerous washers and dryers in laundry room. Nice pool area. Majority of campers were seniors with many camped there over the winter. Resort starts to thin out end of March. Nice pods for connecting utilities. AT&T cell service was fair.
ScoutWe stayed at the resort for a week in March, 2025. We found the facilities modern and well-maintained. The RV pads each had a propane barbecue and had enough space for our 27 foot RV and ram 2500 crew cab with room to spare. The staff was most helpful and professional. We have already booked a long term RV pad rental for next year.
TravelerAlthough filled with lots of permanent winter snowbirds still have temporary sites. Extremely clean and well run. Sites clean, concrete pads and picnic table. Friendly staff and campers. Pool, laundry showers all well maintained. Good location for stores, restaurants.
TravelerWe were only able to get an overnight reservation. Park was nice. Would have liked to stay longer. Most sites nice with good space. Had both concrete pads and gravel sites. Concrete were the nicest. We were able to be right on the water, very nice. Unfortunately, we had a week reservation here that we couldn’t make due to unforeseen rv issues and lost all our money. I wish we could have recouped at least some of it.
