if you like beach camping, this is the place

i've camped here 3 times, twice at a group campground and once at a single. the sites are right on the beach, there are bathrooms, showers, and places to grab food and firewood. there's also a bayside to explore if you're looking for calmer waters. on top of it all: wild ponies roam around so like,…

Father’s Day weekend

Stayed on the full hook-up North East loop (incline or decline into some of the sites, well spaced). Cleanest state park bathroom in all of MD! Activities included: the town of North East (15min away), loop hike to the Turkey Point Lighthouse at sunset, and hanging out on the Elk river…

Party campground

We stayed at site q4 which was significantly unlevel. The lots are paved And it had a lot of gulleys that I will try to demonstrate through pics. It leaned towards the hookups plus the gulleys. It was so bad that we had to rehitch and move more towards the center of the already small lot. Lots of…

Cool sites to see, slightly clustered

Nice sunny spot, clean facilities, right next to a bike path that takes you directly to the beach which is about a 20 minute walk. Campsites clustered a bit and a lot of families.

Great beachside campsite with nice amenities

Assateague State Park is a very well run campground with a prime location by a lovely wild beach.  We visited in May - it was very windy and a bit cold, but no bugs!  The best thing about this place are the sparkling clean bathrooms with flush toilets and free hot water showers.  They also offer…

Nice family state campground

Nice facilities, most of the walking trails would have been much for our little guy. It would be an awesome place to have bikes and cruise around. Nice beaches, an awesome playground, and you’re super close to Lewes and Rehoboth beach towns. We loved exploring them. Pretty pricey for a weekday we…

Nice place with awesome view

This campground is perfect for a quiet visit to the Eastern shore town of Rock Hall as It sits conveniently between the village of Rock Hall and Eastern Neck sanctuary.  The area reserved for RV campsites overlooks a bluff on the Chesapeake Bay….gorgeous.  Because we went in the middle of the week,…

  • Chesapeake Bay view
  • Our site
  • Wide open space along bluff for playing and watching sunsets.

If you like beach camping

This campground is for beach lovers! That’s not me and what it gets a 3 star for. I would say 5 star for the wild horse experience. As for the campground, it has no trees or cover. If there is any bad weather and you’re in a tent... good luck. The bugs/fleas are horrible. But it’s right on…

Great for kids

We loved Martinak State Park! It’s a small park, flat sites, clean updated bathhouse with hot showers. We stayed on the electric loop which was a perfect size for our kids to ride bikes around. Multiple playgrounds, cute trails (flat and not very long) that are good for kids, and lots of…

Very nice camp sites. Pool looked amazing but it rained the entire weekend. Very friendly staff. Bath houses were extremely clean. Camp Store had a lot of supplies if needed.

Planning to return every year!

This was our inaugural trip with our new trailer! We were super excited to stay at Cape Henlopen because we had visited our cousins the year before, which is what got us hooked into the camper life!

We stayed in Row D - was a great location- nearest the cabins.

The play ground area is great -…

All you need...

Our go to State Park for camping as it is pretty close to home. Standard State Park with all the amenities you need. We are tent campers/ non electric (no pets/ no kids). So we don’t need much other than some privacy. Some sites are closer together than others though. Decent bathhouses. Town of…

  • View from inside our tent. (without the fly over)
  • Little Bay great for fishing right by the loop when you walk a few feet of the trail
  • No one to the front of the tent which is nice. Closest neighbors are to the right of the tent.

Go somewhere else

I do not recommend this campground. From overpriced nothing special sites. To super tight streets. No campsite WiFi. Cable does not have any channels. Sites are nothing special. Security will knit pick rules and make new ones as weekend goes on. Changed noise time from 11pm to 1030 on Memorial Day…
