GuideA lot of good spots to pull off and relax for the night with a nearby stream, however if you have a car like myself I’d recommend the first couple spots as the road got pretty uneven and hilly shortly down the road
ScoutAfter a day of worrying where we could stay thank goodness we came across clear creek getaway. We had an amazing time thanks to Rick’s hospitality! Our yellow A frame was the perfect little home with the most gorgeous view of the sunset. Conveniently located off the 70 it has bathrooms, board games, and a bbq! This was a magical stay of epic proportions and I would highly recommend it to any traveler’s.
ScoutWe’re getting ready to boondock for a bit. Instead of overnighting at a trick spot we snagged site 13 at about noon, same day. Great pricing with only about a $20 premium to dump/fill at Love’s and electric/water hookups with dump station included. Really pretty spot. We’d probably come back to stay longer! Weather was super pleasant and cool enough at night to have windows open on July 10th.

ScoutThe road had a lot of damage. There were a ton of large holes. We have a campervan with a lot of ground clearance but turned around b/c it was very narrow and we didn’t want to pinstripe our van with all the overgrowth. We also came across a very large portion of the road that was washed out. I think it would be best for smaller 4WD vehicles with a lot of ground clearance.
ScoutIt’s a good spot to camp and had nice views but there are no fire signs posted on the way up and if you are planning on walking up i wouldn’t recommend this spot because the way up is very steep and it’s a challenge to get up this path on foot.
ScoutPortable dog pens are not allowed. Tethering is not allowed. We don’t like tethering and our rv is small so we travel with some wire folding dog fence so that our dogs can hop in and out of the rv when the weather is good. At this park they can only be on a 6 ft leash attached to a human. They have a dog “area” instead of a fenced dog park where they can play a little. The area for dogs is awful, I’ll include a picture.
ScoutWe stayed in one of the glamping tents at Bear Bottoms and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The tent was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. All tucked away in the woods! The bed was cozy, the lighting created a peaceful ambiance, and we loved having little touches of rustic charm with modern comfort.
The property itself is serene and so well-maintained. We enjoyed relaxing by the stove in the evenings, listening to the sounds of nature, and just soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation (there is some light traffic sounds that died down at night). Us and the dog enjoyed roaming and hiking in the area.
The hosts were fantastic! Debbie and Justin were friendly, responsive, and clearly passionate about creating a special place for guests. Every detail felt intentional and welcoming.
