    A place to sleep

This is an RV park with mostly long term residents. Good location near Hoorsetooth Reservoir and State Park, about an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park. Gravel lot with full hook ups but you are close to neighbors. No bathrooms or laundry. No bad for a place to sleep but we prefer more nature when camping.

    Nice!!!!

Nice park! It offers boating, Paddle boarding, swimming, and much more. It’s super groused most summer and springtime. Fall offers a more quite experience. It has full RV hook-up with back-in and pull-through sites. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a lot of fun.

    Loveland RV Resort

Fair Site Pricing & Nice Amenities But A Few Additional Fees

I wanted to stop into this area after exploring a few campgrounds designed more so for tent campers in the area. I noticed some of these spaces were not ideal for those wanting to bring their RV and have amenities and that really was something that I know many of the people I know really look for when finding their locations for travel. Loveland is a little further away from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park but it offers many great things to those wanting to explore the area and still be within comfortable distance of the park itself. The RV Resort is designed for both larger and smaller rigs and offers a variety of comfortable amenities for campers of this style.

There are 4 basic styles of offerings at this location including full hook up, oversized full hook up, premium and premium back up sites. These prices range from$56 to$65 for base single night stay. They do offer both weekly and monthly rates as well for those really wanting to enjoy the area.

Something which I have found very common amongst these style of locations is that while they do offer base charges which do not include tax there are many times additional fees depending on certain amenities. This campground was no different with additional charges for parties of over 4 people, extra vehicles or pets. Additionally they do have a sizable$20 dump fee, I found this to be quite high, especially considering there is a free dump station only a few miles up the way at another facility which allows campers or passers by alike to use their dump station.

Something nice is they do offer a Good Sam discount if you belong to the affiliated program which is a few dollars off the price of nightly stay.

Additionally amenities include a pool and mini golf which were quite nice and a clubhouse with several really cool things inside. They have a playground for the kiddos and a dog park for the furry family.

Overall the park itself seemed to have wide roadways for navigating and though for my personal taste the sites are located pretty close together they were pretty typically placed for an RV style park. Unlike several parks I have encountered in the area and others, this place did not have the long term stay option readily flagrant and while they might offer it you do not see people who look like they have moved in and allowed their area to become homely and run down. Quite the opposite, the grounds were very clean and inviting, everyone was very friendly and nothing looked like a“there goes the neighborhood” moment.

    Applewood RV Resort by Rjourney

This is now Applewood RV resort

The name has changed; there was an abrupt change of ownership recently.   The web page for Prospect RV Park will get you nothing, and the phone number is disconnected.

The new contact info is Applewood RV resort, 303-872-0091, web page https://rjourney.com/locations/co/wheat-ridge/applewood-rv-resort-llc

Seems from reviews to be nice; it's annoying that "Prospect RV Park" seems to have evaporated from the planet, and it took a lot of googling to find out about the name/ownership change.  It would be nice if the phone/web page had some forwarding.  (That's why just three stars; I may change that after we've stayed there.)

    Glen Echo Resort

    Quite and relaxing

We have stayed here twice, our favorite spot is 43, it is a roomy spot next to the river. Campground is very peaceful at night. There are not that many spots due to long term camping. They are close quarter rv spots, but plenty of room behind campers for campfires. Be prepared there is no phone or TV signal due to mountains. WiFi is available, but you have to go up to the store. We love this place and will make future trips there. Sites are all full hookup.

Family owned and operated. They have a great long range plans for the improvement of the park with added amenities. Great progress has been made in cleaning up the park and making it more inviting. Most of the older trashy campers have left. There still is a fair amount of long-term campers but their spaces are looking much better and their campers are in better condition for the most part. all the spaces have full hook ups and there is room for big rigs. Our camper is a 42 foot fifth wheel. There is a laundry, clean restrooms and showers and mail service. There are not a lot of amenities for children at this point but those are in their future plans. This campground is actually located on the east edge of Loveland Colorado and on the east side of interstate I 25 and just south of Highway 34. For being next to the interstate, it is a very quiet campground with lots of trees and plants. A great place to stay while visiting the Rocky Mountains. They are not really geared for overnight camping but I’m sure they would accommodate if they had an open space. Their rates are reasonable and they seem to stay full most of the time time so it is best to call ahead and reserve a site. We stayed here in November and December 2020 And again now since April 1 and will be leaving mid June.

Great option outside Rocky Mt NP

Good Sam’s RV park with full amenities. We booked a water/electric online, but got bumped up to full hookups. Beautiful river going beside many of the sites. Newer bathrooms. Huge park with playground for kids. Our site was very wide and open, but we might just have been lucky. Most are tree covered sites and not packed in. Dog park. About 45 minute beautiful drive to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.

    Excellent location & amenities!

A truly enjoyable long term RV park with Airbnb cabins for family/friends to visit! The park is on Inlet Bay side of Horsetooth Rez, right up the road from the marina. lot's of accessibility to easy going paddle boarding/kayaking or paddle out and enjoy the wake of the boats for a little more challenge! Beautiful scenery from wildlife walking through the park and enjoying the sunset/sunrise on the rez! No need to fight for parking as you're already front and center of all the rez action! Cutest store on site that is well stocked and priced! I appreciated the assistance with having propane delivered to my RV by management and the upkeep of the park during winter/summer months. Very cost effective with easy access to pay online. Definitely one of the nicest and well managed RV long term parks I've been to!  Very family oriented, yet quiet and respectful! I highly recommend Horsetooth RV park & store!

Known for the cleanest bathrooms in town

Amazing staff and incredibly well run RV park with a big campground for tents as well. A one stop shop for all. Laundry, full hook ups, and elk in campground. We saw over 100 elk in RMNP. Lake Mary itself is not amazing, but since RMNP is just 15 minutes away, all is well. Estes has everything- lots of tourists and shops for tourists. Tons of fishing in and out of the park. Biggest grocery is a Safeway with best gas prices as well. $60 a night for full hook ups

    Clean, Afforable, Easy Access

If you're going cross country and need a place to stop and take a break this is a great RV park. The pads are level concrete with either electric or full hook ups. Tons of fishing and trails. Verizon 4g LTE is very good.

Getting to the park from the interstate is quick (1 mile) and easy (all paved until the last 1000 ft.).

Now the bad. And the reason for 2 starts. I-25. The interstate is so close as I type this I can hear in my travel trailer every truck, motorcycle, and car. Going to have to use earplugs tonight to sleep. It's F##king insane the noise.

    Car was stolen over night

I stayed at this location a few times the last time I stayed they forcibly broke into my car and stole it. Abandoning me in my travel trailer. No one from the park reached out to me. In fact I had to go to them to ask them to give police the video from the night. Several cars were broke into as well. In addition, they did not offer to contact surrounding campsites tenants for additional video. Since they are severally lacking in surveillance. So I had to go around to every camper and ask. In addition the police will not show up in the area they will text you. Point is if you value belongings don’t pay 60-90/night to have your stuff stolen. Speaking to long term tenants it’s been a problem. Also the bathrooms never have soap and they are from the 70’s a trash rv park. All the spots are paved and some how not level.

    Manor RV Park

    Rocky Mountain National Park view

This is an older park that is staying open during the 2021 winter season for the first time. It is your typical RV Park with as many sites as possible packed in. But there is grass between each site, a concrete patio and gravel level sites. Picnic tables as well. Some sites are right on the creek, but don't have views of the mountains. There are lots of pull thru sites. Our site #62 was a back-in so the big windshield of our Class A had an amazing view of mountains. RMNP, Beaver Meadows entrance is only 2 miles. There is a bathhouse with showers and a 2nd bathhouse without showers. Water, electricity and sewer is at each site. 2 bull elk were hanging out at our site one day.. The bug herd was just down the street.. there was also a muke deer herd with a big buck hanging out just down the street. It's pretty quiet. The people were super friendly and accommodating. There is propane onsite. Wifi is pretty darn good. It is a Good Sam's property. The water pressure could be a lot better. The restrooms are dated. The shower took a while to heat up and the room was a little chilly. We would definitely

WORST EXPERIENCE AT AN RV PARK IN TWO YEARS OF FULL TIME TRAVEL

Let me preface this by saying this is the first review I have ever written, but I feel compelled to share because of how horribly rude these people are. The worst experience we've had at an RV Park in almost two years of full time travel. We originally booked 3 nights in the Circle/Meadow Full Hook Up Sites. Then, we booked in the office for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the RV Overflow Lot as we are fully self contained with a large solar set up, and plenty of water. Additionally, we booked the following Friday and Saturday in full hooks up. On Tuesday afternoon, we received a knock on the door from a then-unidentified pair(later identified as the property managers). They were irate, and very angrily informed us that were not allowed to stay in the overflow lot. We explained that we had paid, but were told that it was intended for storage only(definitely was not a storage facility, however). At this point, we tried to apologize and say that there had been a misunderstanding and we were happy to leave. We've traveled to over 46 states and stayed in plenty of these overflow lots, and so we had assumed that was what we were paying for. Additionally, none of the policies we signed in person or listed on their website stated otherwise. However, they continued to be rude, and yelled that we needed to leave the property and that we could receive a refund for our stay. No problem, we're happy to leave- fully understanding that there was a miscommunication(on their end, given we can't be expected to know their policies when not told them). After leaving, we get a call from Alec Buns at corporate stating they will be charging us for a full hook up site even though we did not have full hook ups, and did not utilize any of the amenities in the campground. We again tried to explain that there was a misunderstanding, we left with no fuss, and just wanted our money back. He refused to have a conversation with us, stating repeatedly that he would"not be negotiating" and the"buck stops with him." We have never, in our two+ years of travel, had such a negative experience with such incredibly rude people. An embarrassment to campers everywhere.

The camp ground has a small store for grocery/miscellaneous camping supplies, that opens early and stays open later than most! This camp ground was reasonably priced, the staff friendly and helpful, and best of all was very clean and accommodating for all camper types! The camp ground had a map with a list of activities to do there, and places to go shopping, and places of interest! The drive through the canyon to the camp ground is unforgettably beautiful!!

    Overpriced long term park

Called this park to inquire on a spot for long term and the rate was $1700 plus electric. For the size and condition of this park, that is outrageously overpriced.

    Winding River Resort

    One of my favorites

I’ve tent camped at Winding River Resort twice and both times really enjoyed it. It’s a little more expensive that some, but has lots of amenities that make it totally worth it. If you love real bathrooms and showers, this is your place! There’s a wonderful petting zoo area, playground, basketball courts and much more. They offer all sorts of activities such as horseback riding, ice cream social, chuckwagon breakfast, square dancing, cowboy church. Some do have an additional fee. You may bring your own horses here too! There a several lodging options including camping, full RV hookups and cabins. The location near Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park can’t be beaten! So much to do in the area. There’s a separately owned, but very convenient onsite place where you can rent ATVs, bikes and snowmobiles. There’s even a small store onsite with necessities, T-shirts, souvenirs, etc. The campsites are large and trees and wildflowers abound.

Base Camp at Golden Gate Canyon

    Great for a quick overnight

We stopped in after an afternoon of driving. The sites were level and very clean, hookups were easy (nice threaded, tidy black/grey water) , lots of Aspen trees between the sites, but still a bit close together. It was a very quiet Monday evening towards the end of the season when we were there, so the spacing was okay. I can see that the sites would be very close together if the property was full.

It is really nice that they keep the long term sites on the other side of the building. The highway noise wasn’t bad.

Our nine year old really liked the playground area.

The bathrooms were very clean and recently remodeled, but require coins if you were going to shower.

    Spruce Lake RV Park

    WiFi is great

Pro's: Prime location to both RMNP and Estes Park. Great WiFi. Extra clean facilities. Great Mountain views. Great amenities like wifi, pool, pond etc. Good Sam or military rates. Full hookups. Cons: Sites are on top of each with no privacy.

    Nice surprise

Couldn’t find a vacant RV park or campground north of Denver on a Friday night. Getting dark and Walmart was looking like the only option. Then we found this! Clean, a little cramped but nice showers and bathrooms. Beautiful flowers on perimeter. Full hookups $25 or $15 for none. Pleasant surprise and on way to Estes Park.

More of a Mobile Home Park

This review will be short and sweet. This is an okay place for a quick night stopover. I wouldn’t go beyond this and it’s certainly not for tents.

This is your true stereotypical mobile home park. Nothing at all wrong with that but really not much of a campground at all, more a permanent resident locale.

Again- nothing screamingly horrible here. Just mostly mobile home park and long term residents in trailers.

    Falcon’s Landing RV Park

    Bad

Unlevel sites. Quarter showers. Mostly long term or permanent residents. Seems like the short term RV sites were an after thought, this whole park needs major work. They will keep your full payment even if you leave early. Their website has a major virus, beware if using a computer. Look elsewhere, this is a cash grab at best.

    Paradise on the River

    Beautiful but Cozy

Smaller campground very close to RMNP. Sits directly beside the Big Thompson River. Spent three nights in July. Each site has a deck over the river. Can't beat the sound of water rushing. Several long-term campers and a group of "cabins" are the majority of the park. People running the campground and work camping are super friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are really small but clean. Only two showers and two stalls. Probably because the long terms are big units and the cabins have their own bathrooms. You do have to squeeze into your site but they help you back-in and pull out when you are ready to go. I do not believe they allow tent camping. We would stay again.
