Great for kids

There is a playground for the kids and tons of picnic tables. The sites are cleared and make it really easy for putting up a tent, and there are tables at each site. There’s bathrooms, too, which make it easy! There is a river that runs right behind it and it’s so pleasant to listen to and fun for the kids to play near. It was fast flowing though so we didn’t let them in.

Sardines!

This place has beautiful surroundings and a stream flowing thru. Clean bathrooms. Paid showers. I don’t usually stay in the RV section or city parks … and maybe they’re all like this .. but there are no barriers at all between the sites for RV’s and no trees! The tent sites would certainly have been fine for my 16’ van but couldn’t tell that online. Some of the tent spaces themselves seem to have some division and are on the creek. But the picnic tables & parking, and most of the tent sites are out in the open and side by side.

Convenient In Town Campground

Tent sites - shared weekend with family. Drive up to unload then a reserved parking spot for vehicle. Water features abound. Because of high snow and record rainfall, most water activities were forbidden which was a huge disappointment. No camp fires allowed at any time. Large gas firepit centrally located but turns off at 8 pm which was actually before dark so that was disappointing. Flush toilets in large bathroom. Every manner of Rec opportunities: volleyball, soccer, etc. Two playgrounds, splashpad, and kid zip line. Beautifully nestled in between large rock formations. Eagles spotted a well as a troublemaking 150 lb black bear. Camp hosts friendly and very active. All food had to be removed to vehicles due to that bear visiting at night. Recommended but must understand this is a free public park so very busy but did have Quiet Hours and public is expected to leave at 8pm. Very quiet in the morning as public not admitted till mid-morning.

Well manicured and beautiful park with camping options

RV and tent camping options within a lovely manicured park with the beautiful St Vrain creek running through it. Walking trails and river access was abundantly available. Easy walking or biking distance to various eateries in Lyons. We stayed 2 nights but would have liked to stay for 3 or more if the #8 site we were in was still available or the other preferred end site, #9, was available. I was not impressed with the other super tight RV sites in-between, otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

nice but not for me

Super family friendly camping space. Best spots seemed to be for tent campers, but I was car camping and my space was decent. Super lively during the day, but mellows out at night. Nice bathrooms, lovely river flowing through, some light hiking you can do if you want , and walkably close to a cute lil town. Booked this place in a slight delirium so didn't really realize how busy and populated it would be, but it was pleasant for what it was.

No one cleans here

Okay.... the beauty of this campground called for a rating of FIVE stars. However, during our 2-3 days of camping, NO ONE emptied garbage or cleaned bathrooms, showers, etc. NOT OKAY!

There is an ON-SITE campground host. What does he do? NOTHING that we could see. Bummer... this place is gorgeous!

Breath Taking Views

Amazing facilities. Clean, newly constructed, modern restroom building. Campground has lovely rocky cliff side view with a small river running along the walk-in tent area.

A great city park campground

Beautiful,  clean, well kept,  wonderful playgrounds and a  tubing river.   Not much privacy but  a great facility with all the modern care conveniences.  This is more or an urban park in the tiny town of Lyons.

Family friendly - great for kids

On the edge of Lyons, this place is great for families. Tubing, playgrounds, and soccer field. Just blocks away from Main Street. A great family spot with small children.

Meadow Park - Lyons

We stayed here for the Lyons Outdoor Games as it was just a short walk away. The games were fantastic they had running races, biking, kayaking, beer, food, music, everything you could think of. The site was in a large field so there was really no privacy, though there were some sites in the trees. Basic ammentities available and we'll kept sites, just felt like we were in the middle of a baseball field. I'd definitely recommend it if you're staying for the games but don't see much point outside of that.
