Close to Mountains but Try to Monetize EVERYTHING

Very close to the entrance of Estes, nice Mountain View’s, and Large clean bathrooms. However, Spruce Lake tries to charge for everything possible: $90 per night, 5.50 for laundry (washer ate our money 3x, they sent maintenance but someone else was in office complaining when we left). We paid $25 for a late checkout so I could finish my workday and when we checked out they stopped us and charged for a second day anyways. Unfortunately, the staff were fairly unfriendly, No fire pits, no external fires, and no privacy between sites.

Might be good for a family with miniature golf and tiny swimming pool but not a good option if you want to hangout around camp and 2x more expensive vs any other RV resort we stayed at during our one month trip.

I have no pictures of the campground to share because there were none worth taking.

I’ve been camping for 30 years and this was by far the most disappointing c experience of my life between the old sites, zero privacy, and feeling like we were going to get charged $$ every time we turned around.

WiFi is great

Pro's: Prime location to both RMNP and Estes Park. Great WiFi. Extra clean facilities. Great Mountain views. Great amenities like wifi, pool, pond etc. Good Sam or military rates. Full hookups. Cons: Sites are on top of each with no privacy.

Keep driving

At the entrance to the park there was two ratty sofas with a free sign on them. There’s your clue! The park is older, with not much,if any, updating. The spots are close together. Additionally the wi-fi is terrible! The staff were friendly and helpful.

Closed first week in Oct

We called to see about getting last minute site, but they were closed for the season. We rode by. It is min. from RMNP and Estes Park. Grocery, restaurants. Shopping are all within walking distance. The park may have been closed but the Bull elk and his harem were not detoured. The park does have great views of the national park. It has propane. Sites are basically in a field which allows for views. The creek was still running good. It is very quiet at night.

All about location

We stayed here one night. Spots were ok. Pool and hot tub were closed in July. They didn’t say why. Lots of rules including 7/12 mph speed limit.

Great location for Estes Park

Our site was a back in next to a river with beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains. We backed out 36’ class A without issue. Full hookup and cable.

Nice RV park in a fabulous location !

This park is located just outside of Estes Park, right along the river. The park is very clean and the staff is exceptionally helpful. The sites are level, but rather small and close together. There are no trees in most of the sites. The facilities were acceptable, although the pool and hot tub were closed during our visit. The trash pickup was a nice touch, just leave your trash at the front of your site and they collect it. No canopies are allowed, which is a downside without trees and also no campfires, which will keep our group from returning.

Excellent but expensive park

The staff was well organized providing an easy check-in. We thought for a RV park of this size the spacing was not bad. Ours was a back in space that allowed the truck to park next to the trailer. The ground is hard pack dirt laced with goose poop. Unfortunately our site had a wooden platform to cover a wet hole or something that did get in our way during setup and take down.

A pond (Spruce Lake?) is a primary feature of the park. A license is available to fish for stocked trout. The grounds are well maintained which added to the the very RMNP atmosphere sporting mountain views in every direction. The Big Thompson River borders the north side where adjacent camp sites will have that constant fluid sound. A walking trail also follows the banks of the river with many places to meditate. One could walk to a small grocery store and restaurants nearby.

Spruce Lake RV Park like many of the corporate RV parks have what I consider to be draconian, nanny rules. It makes one feel like walking on egg shells that some simple violation will get you kicked out with no where else to go. Guess that's why I prefer boon docking and NPS. It is for this reason one star was deducted. An excellent RV park otherwise.

Great location for RMNL

The selling point of this campground is location. It’s as close to Rocky Mountain National Park as you can get without actually camping on NPS property. You are completely surrounded by the mountains and the views are amazing. There’s a beautiful river flowing nearby. Easy access to Estes Park. I biked into downtown and back easily. Close to a great little market and several restaurants. Sites are very tight with no privacy unless you are along the edges of the park. Nice laundry facilities, mini golf, and a small pond. There’s a small dog park but I’d recommend taking your dog to the city’s dog park about 10 minutes away. It’s worth the drive and your dog can go swimming on a beach.

Quiet Park near Rocky Mountain National park

This park was quiet & has a river running through it we booked in advance & got a spot on the river Site # 41 with full hook up and cable. It's a tight spot but worked for us we have a 22' Travel trailer. Verizon cell got 3 bars yet no wifi.  Had some great neighbors enjoyed sitting by the river with them.  There is a small laundry room there and restrooms. They had an Ice cream social one day it was good. We had Elk & deer in the campground which is nice to see. There is a good burger place close by across from the gas station.

Close to Rocky Mountain NP, Estes Park Lake & town. This lake is great for Kayaking & fishing. Saw several Eagles every time we were there. we could have gone to see fireworks their but we hear it's packed & just don't have that in us.

Estes Park town is packed you have to have lots of patients to drive through it & try to shop.

Nice spot in Estes Park

Super friendly staff, clean, short drive to downtown Estes Park. Spaces are VERY close to each other. Kids loved mini golf and the pool. I appreciated the pull through-site and proximity to activities. If you want to feel “remote,” maybe look at one of the other campgrounds in Rocky Mountain National Park or other sites nearby. This campground is convenient, clean, and well-maintained but very crowded.

Location Location Location

Yup. Great location. Nice fenced area for smaller dogs to keep the grounds clean. Everything else was "shabby chic" but forgivable since it is an RV park and the store + laundromat are a 2 minute walk away.

Be prepared to spend $75 a night during peak summer season. Worth it due to... location!

Lock your vehicle doors at night or you may find them pulled open by hungry bears looking for treats.

RV campground between Estes Park and RMNP

Let me preface this review by stating that is it weren’t for some regrettable encounters with one deplorable staff member(manager) this would have been a 4 star review. More on that later....

This campground is ideally located in my opinion, situated between Estes Park and Rocky Mtn NP, right next to a river, short walk to a grocery store (with shuttle to downtown) and alongside a road you can use to bypass the nasty summer traffic, I can’t think of a better place to be. My family and I stayed here for a week in a 34 ft travel trailer. The campground has a pool, hot tub, office with some supplies, full hookups, spacious sites, playground, fishing pond, laundromat, and a modest mini golf course. I was really impressed with the site width(in a busy destination such as Estes Park you would expect to be crammed in). Each site is bordered by log fencing to add to the feel of a large space. Sites are level and graveled. The pool is decently sized and the hot tub is fairly new. Mini golf is fun(clubs and balls and borrowed from the office) but is a little run down.

So with all this good stuff, what are the cons? Well, the laundry machines are old and expensive. The activities center was never open, even on the 4th of July. No campfires at the sites and the community campfire is uninviting. The wifi is almost non-existent except at the pool/office. The game room is locked and empty. And the manager drives around the campground flying pirate flags and curses out his staff for insufficient reasons, in front of children. When my husband confronted him about this, he huffed off and never apologized, even though he walked by our site frequently. I am told that this is being brought to the attention of the owners, but since no action has been taken as of the time of this post, it is being included in this review. The other staff have been friendly.

Overall, I would stay here again but would make sure the situation with the manager has been rectified.

False advertising

after looking at website and a couple of reviews we decided on Manor RV for a couple nights while we were at RMNP. Well to start off I had planned on doing a little fishing on our down time at campground. Park advertises a “river walk” and space for fishing. Well that was a blatant lie. You have about 3’ of space behind all the campers. There is NO river walk. Most people had their dogs tied up back there so it was un usable. Second problem was “wi-fi throughout”or complete lack of. When I went to office I was told I was too far from the office, I was literally 4 sites away. Next was the fact they were absolutely crazy about enforcing no garbage or coolers outside at any time, they made us aware there was a black bear and cub in the area. Well for 4 days the dumpsters were full and their solution was to have campers throw garbage on a flat trailer and they put a blue tarp on it. Campers around this hillbilly solution were a bit concerned.

They em have a employee that tries to help- one star

occasional wildlife wanders thru- second star
