Paradise on the River

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

The sound of the Big Thompson River runs through every site at this small RV park in Estes Park, Colorado, where each pull-in comes with a deck positioned directly over the water. Sites are close together, but reviews consistently note how quiet the grounds stay despite the density. Rates run $68 to $235 per night, and campers who have stretched their budget to stay here tend to say the experience justified the cost.

Full hookups including electric, water, and sewer accommodate RVs up to 30 feet, and the bathhouse, while compact, draws repeated praise for cleanliness. Showers and stalls are limited, two of each, likely because many of the longer-term sites and on-site cabins have their own facilities. Staff assists with backing in and pulling out, which matters given how snugly the sites are arranged. Cell service has come up as a minor concern in at least one review, so connectivity-dependent travelers should plan accordingly.

"Each site has a deck over the river," notes Mary D., and that feature is what sets this property apart from other campgrounds just outside Estes Park. The campground sits within easy reach of Rocky Mountain National Park, making it a practical base for day hikes. Reservations are strongly advised, especially for summer weekends. The park runs May through October 1 and allows pets. Campers wanting more space or a different setting might consider Elk Meadows Lodge & RV Resort or Spruce Lake RV Park nearby.

PARADISE!

No need to look elsewhere - this is where you want to stay! But you better book well in advance. CLEAN shower houses. Friendly staff. Owners who pay attention to the details. This truly is Paradise by the river! Sites are close, but very quiet. I've never stayed at such a beautiful campground.

Truly Paradise on the river

This is the most beautiful RV park I have ever seen. It is surrounded and someone planted about a hundred flower baskets! Full service. Has super clean restroom and showers, laundry facilities, and it’s set beside a peaceful river. $75 a night. Will definitely be back! Love it!

Worth the price

This RV park is great. We were apprehensive staying here because it exceeded our budget (by a lot). But once we pulled in, we knew it was worth the money. The campground sits right on the river and is tucked away from the road. With only a couple dozen sites, it feels far more intimate than any of the neighboring parks. The people who checked us and and helped us get settled were very kind and had lots of great recommendations.

We look forward to a return visit!

Beautiful but Cozy

Smaller campground very close to RMNP. Sits directly beside the Big Thompson River. Spent three nights in July. Each site has a deck over the river. Can't beat the sound of water rushing. Several long-term campers and a group of "cabins" are the majority of the park. People running the campground and work camping are super friendly and helpful. Bathrooms are really small but clean. Only two showers and two stalls. Probably because the long terms are big units and the cabins have their own bathrooms. You do have to squeeze into your site but they help you back-in and pull out when you are ready to go. I do not believe they allow tent camping. We would stay again.
