Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Neshkoro, WI

Pearl Lake RV Campground and Buffalo Lake Camping Resort maintain pet-friendly environments across their tent, RV, and cabin accommodations. Both campgrounds enforce standard leash policies while offering designated pet areas for exercise and waste disposal. Green Lake Campground extends pet access to their cabin units, a rarity among Wisconsin campgrounds that typically restrict pets from indoor lodging. Most campgrounds in the Neshkoro region provide water and electric hookups for pet owners staying in RVs, with spacious sites that accommodate pet enclosures. Lake Arrowhead Campground receives consistently positive feedback for its pet amenities and cleanliness, maintaining policies that balance pet owner freedoms with campground cleanliness standards.

Hiking trails surrounding the Fox River provide excellent exercise opportunities for leashed dogs, with River Side Park offering direct river access for pets that enjoy swimming. The heavily wooded sites at Evergreen Campsites and Resort provide natural shade protection during summer months when heat concerns for pets become significant. Most campgrounds maintain a two-pet limit per site, though exceptions can be arranged with advance notice. Seasonal campers report the Montello area campgrounds as particularly accommodating for long-term stays with pets, providing dedicated waste stations and pet-friendly seasonal events during peak camping months. White River Camp Ground offers kayak access with pets permitted in watercraft, creating unique exploration opportunities for campers with water-friendly dogs.

    Baraboo RV Resort by Rjourney

    Super campground!

Great location close to many things yet far enough to feel quiet and peaceful. Great owners always have fun stuff going on for everyone and our dog loves the dog park!

    Wisconsin Dells KOA

Good campground for families with kids

A central playground and pool are the biggest draws for families with kids. There's also a prospecting 'sluice' that you can buy for the kids to look for 'fossils' and interesting rocks.

The campground is located just north of the main attractions of Wisconsin Dells.

Campsites are not overly generous in size -- typical KOA, where some are 'stacked like cordwood'. Don't go there if you want any privacy from your neighbors.

Cabins are available for those wanting to 'camp' without a camper.

    Very small dog park area.

Friendly check in staff. However, we were given a map with our campsite noted and told to wait for a person driving a golf cart to escort us and help us get situated. We waited...and waited...and waited...golf carts came and went, but passed us by. We finally gave up waiting and found out site by ourselves.

    Glacier Valley Campground

    Fun place

Nice, clean, well maintained campground with something for everyone. Swimming pond is huge with toys for everyone. You can bring your own pool toys. Sites are decently spacious and decently level with some gravel and some grass. Bathhouse is nice & clean. Office/store has some logo goodies as well as any necessities you may need. They had a beer tasting going on, live music at the pavilion- both on a Saturday during our stay. A couple trails around for walks with dogs & a dog park. Lively campground during the day but nice & quiet at night with quiet hours being 11pm-8am.

    Rocky Arbor State Park Campground

Wooded, beautiful, and secluded but nearby the Dells!

This park gives the option of both tent and camper sites. Many of the sites are separated from others by some space and numerous trees, tucked back away in the pine forest. The secluded nature gives it the feel of a National Park with beautiful stretches of pine and rocky ledges. Most sites are quiet, with only the slightest hum of the interstate in the background (although a couple may be loud, so beware which site you book). Staff is friendly and helpful, firewood is available at the park. Many pit toilets are available, as well as running water/showers. Playgrounds are also in the park, a pet area, water fill up station, some trails (nothing much for hiking). Very very close to the Dells as well! Mosquitoes are terrible during the summer, but that’s to be expected anywhere in Wisconsin.

    Duck Creek Campground

    Great place for the kids

The staff here was extremely friendly.  We did not spend a lot of time at the campground since we were there for the Dells on a long trip from Atlanta, GA to Duluth, MN.  The kids did have a blast in the pond and there is a really nice dog park that our pup enjoyed.  There is also a restaurant on site and a small bar down by the pond that were both closed while we were there (we came in after 4th of July weekend and they were taking some time off after the holiday) but seem like they would be great amenities.  We would definatley stay again if going to the Dells (about 30 min away).  Also, do yourself a favor and stock up at the Lodi Meat Market!

    Breezy Hill Campground

    Great Stay!

We have really enjoyed our stay here with our two dogs! It’s extremely clean, kid and pet friendly, with lots of amenities. Staff is incredibly friendly! The only downside is that if you want visitors, there is a $5/visitor fee. Other than that, we would absolutely come back here again!

    Ledge County Park

    Nice County Park

We got a last minute reservation and stayed on the handicap site. It was half black topped but had a nice grassy area. It is right next to the toilets/showers. The bathrooms were clean, the attendants were really nice, they borrowed us an extension cord so we could set up a bit further back.

The only issues were more sunny than I like and some people walking through our site to the bathroom.

Site butts up to a bit of tree landscape and field behind it. The hiking is great, close to Horicon Marsh, pet friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay,

Guide to Neshkoro

Campgrounds near Neshkoro, Wisconsin offer access to the Fox River watershed and glacial lakes formed during the last ice age. The region sits at approximately 800 feet above sea level with sandy soil common throughout local campsites. Summer temperatures typically range from 75-85°F during peak camping season from June through August.

What to do

Fishing from private docks: White River Camp Ground provides access for anglers looking to catch fish directly from their campsite. "Sunset over the lake in a kayak was like heaven. Magical experience," notes Lesley R., who chose to camp rather than stay at a motel.

Golf at campground courses: Green Lake Campground maintains a 9-hole, par 3 golf course on site. "Took full advantage of the golf course," writes Steve C., while David H. adds, "The 9-hole golf course was nice I just wish I would have remembered my clubs."

Kayaking with dogs: Montello area campgrounds allow pets in watercraft, making it possible to explore waterways with canine companions. "You can get to your site early if no one is on it, stay later by letting them know," explains Tammi J. about Buffalo Lake Camping Resort, which offers boat access.

Multiple swimming options: Campgrounds often provide different swimming areas based on age and preference. "They have an adult, kid, sport and normal pool. If you are a golf fan they have a par three golf course which is pretty awesome," explains Kelsey S. about Green Lake Campground's water facilities.

What campers like

Seasonal camper community: Rose's Enchanted Forest Campground receives high marks for its permanent site options. "We have made lifelong friends with the owners and fellow campers. There are family friendly activities that planned throughout the summer for all ages," shares Tom H., a 30-year permanent camper.

Clean facilities: Campgrounds maintain regular bathroom cleaning schedules, particularly during busy periods. "Even in the beginning stages of the pandemic they were already making changes to keep everyone safe," notes Kevin C. about Lake Arrowhead Campground.

Natural shade coverage: "This campground is nestled in a stand of tall red pine trees so shade is found everywhere," reports Jeremy B. about Pearl Lake RV Campground, noting that many sites receive protection from direct sun.

Amish community access: The Montello area offers access to local Amish businesses. "A lot of Amish in the area with greenhouses. We got all of our summer flowers from them. A few bakeries—go early! Wood working stores, buggy shops and etc," advises Tammi J.

What you should know

Shower facilities vary: Some campgrounds have unusual shower setups. "The showers are a bit odd where one door (that locks) opens to the only 2 shower stalls for your gender in the entire building," explains Jeremy B. about Pearl Lake RV Campground.

Cell service limitations: Not all carriers work throughout the region. "The only cell service available in the area is AT&T. As a Verizon subscriber, we were completely off grid the entire weekend, unless we used our car as a hotspot," warns Cynthia S. about Evergreen Campsites and Resort.
