Kayakers and anglers will find direct access to Mirror Lake from Sandstone Ridge Campground, where sandstone cliffs rise along the shoreline and boat launches accommodate both motorized and paddle craft. The campground operates within Mirror Lake State Park's network of camping areas, offering full hookups for RVs and walk-in tent sites spread across several loops.
Sites here provide substantial space between neighbors, with tall trees creating high canopy coverage throughout most areas. Emily F. found site 62 "in a perfect spot" with easy access to facilities and enough room for a 12x12 canopy plus tent space. The abundant mature trees make hammock camping popular among visitors. Most sites include permanently installed shepherd's hooks for hanging lights or securing food bags away from raccoons, which reviewers consistently mention as persistent and clever with latches.
Highway noise carries through the campground, though some campers find it functions as white noise for sleeping. The lake itself shows significant weed growth during summer months, though the designated beach area remains clear for swimming. Hiking trails connect directly from the campground, including a path to the nearby Ishnala Supper Club for dining. Water spigots distribute throughout the loops provide cold drinking water, while shower facilities offer hot water and good pressure.
Sites 201-204 sit farther from other camping areas via a shared parking lot with short walks to individual sites. Paul B. notes these are "big spacious sites and you are not on top of one another." The campground accepts reservations through the Wisconsin state park system, with sites typically running $35 plus additional fees for out-of-state visitors.
Book early for summer weekends, as the combination of lake access and proximity to camping near Lake Delton makes this a popular base for exploring the Wisconsin Dells region.
