Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Waupun, WI

Waupun Park Campground's deep, wooded sites create private camping spaces for visitors with pets. The campground maintains clean facilities including bathrooms, showers, a dump station, and fresh water access. Dogs are welcome throughout the grounds when leashed, with many campers noting the spacious sites allow pets to relax comfortably at camp. Ledge County Park and Derge County Park also accommodate pets with designated pet-friendly areas. Most campgrounds in the region enforce standard leash policies and request owners clean up after their animals. The deep spots at Waupun Park offer gorgeous private, well-wooded areas that make campers feel secluded while still being close to amenities. Electric hookups are available at most sites, with both tent and RV camping options throughout the area.

Hiking trails near many Waupun area campgrounds provide excellent opportunities for dog walking, though pet owners should note restrictions at some beaches and swimming areas. Kettle Moraine State Forest campgrounds allow pets in camping areas but restrict dogs from designated swimming beaches, offering separate pet picnic areas near water instead. Some campers find these pet water access points disappointing compared to the main beaches. Fairgrounds RV Park provides spacious sites where dogs can play freely without disturbing other campers. Breezy Hill Campground receives high marks from pet owners for being extremely clean and pet-friendly. Most campgrounds in the region sell firewood on-site, maintain quiet hours between 11pm-8am, and provide water hookups that make caring for pets easier during extended stays.

    Harrington Beach State Park Campground

    Beautiful secluded state park!

This was our first time camping in Wisconsin and we got to say we absolutely love this park. Most of the sites are pretty secluded so if you enjoy your privacy I will love this place. Everything was clean and updated including the bathrooms. The campsites are about a mile or two from Lake Michigan but it is an easy drive or hike as there are many trails that go through the park. When we went to the lake level was up so high due to flooding that we weren’t really able to enjoy the beach but normally there is plenty of coastline for enjoying some beach time.

    Waupun Park Campground

    Private splendor

The deep spots offer gorgeous private, well wooded area that makes you feel like you’re all alone in the woods. Fire rings and tables are there as well as bathrooms showers, a dump station and fresh water. We enjoyed the fall colors and privacy for a long stop on our trip across the northern border. You forget that you are situated right next to the small community of Waupun Wisconsin and you’re just a stones throw from amenities to restock any supplies or enjoy a day in town strolling the charming Main Street and enjoying the many gorgeous bronze statues.

    Glacier Valley Campground

    Fun place

Nice, clean, well maintained campground with something for everyone. Swimming pond is huge with toys for everyone. You can bring your own pool toys. Sites are decently spacious and decently level with some gravel and some grass. Bathhouse is nice & clean. Office/store has some logo goodies as well as any necessities you may need. They had a beer tasting going on, live music at the pavilion- both on a Saturday during our stay. A couple trails around for walks with dogs & a dog park. Lively campground during the day but nice & quiet at night with quiet hours being 11pm-8am.

    Lantern DeForest

    nice clean quiet

My first time at a campsite and new to the rv life. This campground is nice and so are the employees grass gets cut every week, the pool is clean, so is the dog park, my husband likes going to the camp bathroom for a hot shower because our rv only has 10 gallons of hot water. We did 3 months at the camp!

Menomonee Park by Waukesha County Parks

    Nice park

Great park with swimming beach, trails, dog park, and archery range. Campsites were ok, not much separation or privacy at all. Pit toilets and metros desperately need to be cleaned more often. We had very noisy neighbors that did not respect the quiet hours rule and park staff did nothing to intervene. Very convenient that they drive through the Campground to sell/deliver firewood tho. I'd stay here again because the park overall is great, but I would try to choose a better site. #9 looked alright, and in the 20#s looked a bit more tree lined and bigger.

    Harrington Beach State Park Campground

Great place but poor pet accommodations

Park campground is well kept as well as the facilities. Beach is nice but the area they claim is for people with pets is a long walk and the beach no longer exists as the lake has washed it away. Pet beach is just really slippery rock which is very dangerous for the pet owners and pets alike. They should fix the roads, get rid of the so called shuttle road signs as the shuttle doesn’t exist either and actually put in a “sand beach for people with pets “.

Long Lake Campground — Kettle Moraine State Forest-Northern Unit-Iansr

Good campsite if you don’t have dogs

We stayed 700, enough space, good hiking trail, nice beach. But the pet picnic area was pretty disappointing. Just a small opening for a dog jumping in the water. All the nice beach area was not open for a dog. My pup was pretty sad.
