The campground sits on the edge of the city and includes a four-acre pond, a small beach area that works better for kids than adults, and a grass airstrip along the western edge of the property. Wildlife sightings are common. Chipmunks, ducks, and great horned owls have all been spotted by visitors. The pond holds bluegill and is described as easy to fish. Campfire rings are 30-inch metal rings without grates, and tables run on the smaller side, so campers bringing their own folding table may find it useful.
Facilities are consistently described as clean and well-maintained. Showers are free. The office sells ice cream, firewood delivery is available on request, and the camp store carries basic supplies. The campground accommodates tents, RVs up to 70 feet with 30- and 50-amp electric and water hookups, and two small cabins. Reservations are available and worth making. Arriving after dark can make site navigation difficult since lighting is limited to a single street lamp near the entrance and swim area.
Operator Cindy draws repeated mention across reviews for attentiveness, including calling guests who arrive late to check in. Parking rules are enforced: vehicles must stay on gravel pads, and ground mats outside campers are discouraged on non-pad sites. The campground sits close enough to camping spots near Oshkosh to make it a reasonable base for exploring the wider area, including the Saturday farmers market on Main Street and the Paine Art Center and Gardens.
