High View Park is on a long peninsula on the western shore of Bardwell Lake, less than an hour south of the Dallas-Fort Worth area in north-central Texas.   
  
The lake has favorable fish and wildlife habitats, providing plenty of opportunities for fishing and hunting, and great locations for camping, boating and hiking. Deer, armadillo, rabbit, squirrel and a variety of bird species inhabit the area.

## Recreation

Many local fishermen consider Bardwell Lake one of the best kept secrets in the state. Bass fishermen seldom leave empty-handed. Crappie fishing is moderate, and catfish are usually excellent.   
  
The lake has a marina with fishing piers, two of which are enclosed (a small fee is charged for the use of these facilities), and there are several designated hunting areas around the lake, including those for duck hunting. 

## Facilities

High View Park offers 21 campsites with water and 50-amp electric hookups, 18 campsites with water and 30-amp electric hookups, 10 picnic sites and one reservable group picnic pavilion, accommodating up to 50 people.  
  
A swimming area with covered benches, a full-service marina, four-lane boat ramp and a courtesy dock make access to the lake easy. While public restrooms with showers help provide a comfortable camping experience.

The park is grassy and partially forested with a mix of shade and sun. The lake's cool, blue water provides a refreshing break from the Texas heat, while bluebonnets and other wildflowers surround the lakeshore each spring.

Additional amenities include a swimming area with benches, two fishing areas, public restrooms with showers, one four-lane boat ramp and a courtesy dock.

The Bardwell Lake equestrian and multi-use trail begins at this facility. It provides over 13 miles of trails for horseback riding, biking or hiking. Visitors should be advised that the trail is located within a designated hunting area from September through March. 

## Facilities

Waxahachie Creek Park offers something for everyone with 65 campsites with water and 30-amp electric service, seven non-electric picnic sites and one reservable group pavilion, which can accommodate up to 200 people. There is also a day use area for visitors who are not camping overnight. The boat ramp at the upper end of the park is very shallow at normal lake level and not suited to launch ski boats or larger vessels. The boat ramp at the lower end of the park is suitable for all types of boats at normal lake level and has a courtesy dock for loading and unloading boats.

## Natural Features

The park is located on the upper reaches of the lake, near the mouth of a main tributary, Waxahachie Creek. The word "Waxahachie" is believed to be the Tonkawa Native American word for "Buffalo Creek."   
  
The lake's waters provide a refreshing break from the Texas heat and enormous blooms of bluebonnets and other wildflowers surround the lakeshore each spring.

Oak Park is located on the northeastern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas.   
  
Visitors can enjoy a view of the lake from the facility and participate in popular outdoor actives like camping, boating, fishing and picnicking. The lake area provides the perfect setting to get away from it all, especially for city-dwellers from the nearby Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

## Recreation

Birding is a favorite year-round pastime for lake guests. Many species of songbirds, hawks, great blue herons, ducks, geese, other shorebirds and even an occasional bald eagle visit the area.   
  
Fishing is also popular at Navarro Mills, and the lake holds the current state record for white crappie. Fishermen come from near and far to sample some of the best crappie fishing anywhere.   
  
There are also healthy populations of channel and yellow catfish, and hefty hybrid stripers are often caught below the dam when water is being released. Liberty Hill has a fishing pier, and there is a full-service marina at the lake.

## Facilities

This facility has 48 campsites, all of which have electric and water hookups, as well as one group campsite that can accommodate up to 125 people. A boat ramp, swim beach, playground, fishing pier and group shelter are located in the park. Oak Park swim beach is for registered campers only, Oak Park Day Use is a separate park available for day use visitors. Life Jacket Loaner Station located at gatehouse. 

## Natural Features

Most of the campsites are shady, and Oak Park is also a favorite viewing area for wildflowers. The brilliant array of native flowers draws visitors from all over to the lake area during the spring. Bluebonnets, paintbrushes and a myriad of other native plants transform the often-bleak winter landscape into an incredible palette of colors.   
  
A wide variety of habitat provides a home and abundant food supply to diverse wildlife. Visitors might stumble across squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, white-tailed deer, raccoon or armadillo.

Liberty Hill Park is located on the southern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas.   
  
Visitors can enjoy a view of the lake from the facility and participate in popular outdoor actives like camping, boating, fishing and picnicking. The lake area provides the perfect setting to get away from it all, especially for city-dwellers from the nearby Dallas-Fort Worth metro area.

## Recreation

Swimming is available at the designated swim beach from April 1- September 30 for day users and year round for registered campers. No lifeguard on duty and swimming is at your own risk. Life Jackets are available to borrow from the gatehouse.

Liberty Hill has just over 100 campsites, most of which have electric and water hookups and several have sewer hookups. Five sites have screened in shelters that include sinks. A marina, two multi-lane boat ramps, fishing pier, swim beach, playground, group shelter and dump stations are provided within the facility.
