Oak trees provide heavy shade across this Army Corps of Engineers campground on Navarro Mills Lake. Sites feature covered picnic areas with concrete slabs, metal fire rings, and crushed granite surfaces bordered by landscaping timbers. The campground operates with a security gate that closes nightly and allows online reservations up to 184 days in advance.
Highway 31 traffic creates background noise, though the campground itself remains relatively quiet. Site access varies, with some requiring steep entrance angles and uneven terrain. Cell coverage runs around two bars for AT&T users. A boat ramp and dock provide lake access, while a designated swimming area serves families with children. For additional overnight options, campers can explore campgrounds around Bardwell.
