Navarro Mills Lake
Overview
Oak Park is located on the northeastern shore of Navarro Mills Lake in central Texas. Oak Park Day Use area is open from April through September with picnic tables, restrooms, and a swimming beach.
Visitors can enjoy a view of the lake from the facility and participate in popular outdoor actives like swimming and picnicking. The lake area provides the perfect setting to get away from it all, especially for city-dwellers from the nearby Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. The brilliant array of native flowers draws visitors from all over to the lake area during the spring. Bluebonnets, paintbrushes and a myriad of other native plants transform the often-bleak winter landscape into an incredible palette of colors.
A wide variety of habitat provides a home and abundant food supply to diverse wildlife. Visitors might stumble across squirrels, rabbits, coyotes, foxes, bobcats, white-tailed deer, raccoon or armadillo.Birding is a favorite year-round pastime for lake guests. Many species of songbirds, hawks, great blue herons, ducks, geese, other shorebirds and even an occasional bald eagle visit the area.
Fishing is also popular at Navarro Mills, and the lake holds the current state record for white crappie. Fishermen come from near and far to sample some of the best crappie fishing anywhere.

Our site 14 was not marked. Most sites have site number on site picnic table. Even those are tough to see in the daylight and impossible to see in darkness. Absolutely no roadside site number posts
Campsite 14 entrance driveway was 90 degree angle to park road with a steep ditch on opposite side of road. T
rees close on both sides tight to site 14 driveway. Made back in challenging, but not impossible.
Campsite 14 entrance/driveway 10% grade from park road
Campsite 14 not level side to side
Site fire ring was up against landscaping timber preventing space for chairs
Landscaping timbers trip hazard at fire ring
Fire ring should be relocated to side or back of site to facilitate safe movement around it Fire ring was completely filled with ash upon arrival No privacy from other campsites Shower/toilet facility near playground had padlock on mens entrance, so males were using the womens restroom. This facility in extremely poor condition and desperately needs renovation.

Great place, great price
This COE camp is a great place. During the hot summer months be sure to find a place under the trees. Each spot has a covered picnic area and a boat ramp and dock are available for water craft. There's plenty of bird watching from the shore and a roped swimming area is available for the kids to swim in. The gate host was very helpful and friendly and the price was right. We will be back sometime in the future!
