Best RV Parks & Resorts near Seagoville, TX

Several RV parks serve the Seagoville area, with varied amenities and accessibility options. Plantation Place in nearby Sunnyvale provides full hookups with 50-amp electrical service for larger rigs, while Northside RV Resort offers pull-through sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp connections. Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park in Terrell features approximately 10 concrete pads with the remaining sites on level gravel, accommodating big rigs with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer. The Flying Dutchman RV Resort maintains 113 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service options for various motorhome sizes. "The sites are large and easy to pull in and out. They don't have any extras like clubhouses so you can tell they don't cater to snowbirds."

Interstate 20 provides the primary access route to most area RV parks, though proximity to the highway means road noise is noticeable at several locations. Seasonal availability varies, with most parks operating year-round in this region of Texas. Pet policies differ between properties—most allow pets with standard restrictions, though Northside RV Resort reportedly prohibits pets according to their amenity listings. Dump stations are available at several parks including Northside RV Resort and Bluebonnet Ridge. Cellular reception can be problematic at some locations, with one reviewer noting reception issues requiring a signal booster. Many parks offer security features such as gated access with entry codes, particularly important for travelers leaving their rigs unattended while exploring the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area.

    The Retreat at Shady Creek

    Awesome RV resort in town

We normally don't do RV resorts, but this one is awesome. The sites are fairly spacious, especially compared to other RV resorts. Big rig friendly with many different style spots to choose from. We always choose the fence line back in sites, and they always come with plenty of grass to walk the dogs. The fence backs up to residential, but that doesn't bother us. Even the back in sites are plenty spacious for a big rig and your tow vehicle and another vehicle. The park is very roomy and easy to navigate and park.

The staff are always so nice and they make late check in a breeze, which we appreciate after a long, tiring day of towing. This RV resort is the only place we've ever stayed in that allows RV washing! For full-time RVers, that's pretty huge. They also have a mail room if you need to receive a package on the road.

The resort is split up into two areas by the road, the Retreat area is more resort like and caters to short term stays, while the other half has long term stays. They both look nice and are clean and beautiful. We will continue to visit every time we pass through the area.

    Lake Park Campground

    Nice Place

This place is well-maintained and a fairly nice park. Family friendly and there is a lake and playground within walking distance. The staff is courteous. We did not use any of the facilities, except dump station.

There are specific sites for 30 and 50. The middle spaces for 30 amp have no shade. For 50 amp avoid sites 59-63, 0 shade. There are no sewer hookups at the site. Only dumping station.

Reservations is done by calling the park, no online.

    Traders Village RV Park

    Clean and big

We stayed 4 nights in site 24, PT FHU on a level concrete pad with a picnic table and plot of grass. $40/ni after Good Sam. The park is split into two sections; the side we are in is next to an airfield and the other side is by a small dog run (next time, I'll request this section bc I'm traveling with my dogs). They have a store and the laundry is clean and well priced ($1.25/wash, $0.25/12 min dry). The wifi is strong and the park is quiet. There are some long term, possibly permanent, tenants, but their sites are well kept.

    Lake Tawakoni State Park Campground

    Nice state park

We don't stay at too many TX State Parks because of the added day use fee. We decided on this park due to its proximity to family in this area. The site was level and on a concrete pad with a parking spot right next to it. We did have a neighbor, so the space between us was fair. Our cell signal with Verizon was poor, so it made work difficult. Our site had W/E and there is a dump station. We did have a picnic table and fire ring. There are some sites that back up to a part of the lake. Noise level was pretty low. Unfortunately, we only spent 1 full day here, so we didn't really get to enjoy any of the hiking trails or do any fishing. We will definitely have to stay again in the future.

    The Vineyards Campground & Cabins

    Very nice

Our site had a concrete pad for our rv. Full hookups are very nice. While we were here nightly thunderstorms came in. The staff were on top of it as they drove around alerting everyone about the wind approaching. Clean laundry room and restrooms. We didn’t use the store due to corona fears and didn’t need to. Pet friendly. Quiet at night. I would absolutely stay here and recommend it to anyone. The only spring time issue is lake flooding will close it.

Guide to Seagoville

Campgrounds near Seagoville, Texas provide easy access to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex while being situated in the gently rolling terrain of eastern Dallas County. Elevation in this area averages around 400-450 feet above sea level with seasonal temperature variations ranging from winter lows near 30°F to summer highs exceeding 95°F. Several campgrounds feature fishing ponds or lakes where campers can spend time without a fishing license for catch-and-release activities.

What to do

Fishing at local ponds: Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park offers a catch-and-release fishing pond with no license required. As one camper noted, "There's a nice little pond you can fish in, catch-and-release only, no license required."

Visit nearby shopping centers: Within 15-20 minutes of most Seagoville RV parks, you can find major shopping destinations. At Treetops RV Resort, campers appreciate the convenient location. One guest mentioned, "Easy access to Target just around the corner, Parks mall is close by and Arlington Highlands shopping is really nice!"

Attend local flea markets: Traders Village combines camping with shopping opportunities. According to a visitor, "This location has all your needs for as long of a stay you ever need. Propane refill station, fuel station, a store, hair shop, laundry mat, showers and restrooms. Not to mention, one of the biggest flee markets around and it's 2 days of walking and shopping."

What campers like

Gated security systems: Many Seagoville area RV parks offer security measures for those exploring the area. At Northside RV Resort, one camper reported, "The park itself is gated and secure. Each shower has its own toilet and vanity behind a lockable door."

Private bathroom facilities: Individual bathrooms rather than community-style facilities are available at some parks. A camper at Northside RV Resort appreciated that "Each shower has its own toilet and vanity behind a lockable door."

Seasonal activities: While summer temperatures can reach 95°F or higher, winter camping remains comfortable with proper preparation. A visitor to Treetops RV Resort shared, "My boys jumped in the pool even though it was 55° outside and said it was a fun experience."

What you should know

Road noise considerations: Highway proximity affects some campgrounds more than others. A camper at Bluebonnet Ridge RV Park observed, "You're really close to I-20, you will hear the road noise. Only trucks are loud. (We did hear a blowout, scared me to death!)"

Limited bathroom facilities: Not all RV parks near Seagoville offer shower or restroom facilities. One camper at Plantation Place warned, "WARNING: NO BATHROOMS, NO SHOWERS. Quiet park with easy access to Dallas. Nice dog walking area and dog park. Full hookups. I get that RVs have bathrooms and most have showers, but never in all my years have I been to a park with no bathrooms or showers."

WiFi limitations: Internet access varies significantly between parks. At Bluebonnet Ridge, campers noted, "The WiFi, while available, is really slow. When you connect, they track usage by hardware MAC address. Use too much, you get blocked and have to ask to be allowed back on."

Tips for camping with families

Look for parks with recreation areas: Some RV parks Seagoville, Texas area provide dedicated play spaces. Canton I-20 RV Park maintains "a nice clean pool," making it suitable for family stays.

Consider parks with laundry facilities: When traveling with children, on-site laundry can be essential. At Canton I-20 RV Park, guests praised the "clean laundry room and all machines working."

Check for spacious sites: Families need room to spread out. One camper at Canton I-20 RV Park appreciated the "very well maintained, large spaces, picnic tables," which provide comfort for groups of various sizes.

Tips from RVers

Signal booster considerations: Cell reception varies throughout the region, particularly at parks farther from the metropolitan area. Some campers recommend bringing signal boosters if remote work is necessary.

Check specific hookup information: RV parks Seagoville and surrounding areas offer various electrical service options. At Chuck's RV Resort, "The roads and pads are all concrete with full hookups," providing reliable setups for all rig types.

Research reservation policies: Some parks have strict cancellation requirements. One camper cautioned about checking terms and conditions before booking, as some parks may charge substantial cancellation fees if you need to change plans.

Weather preparation: Texas weather can change rapidly, requiring preparation. As one camper at Treetops RV Resort noted, "We had the pleasure to stay there during a time to celebrate our friends life. The people that worked there were very friendly and always asked if there was anything they could do."
