Best Campgrounds near Rockford, TN

This is the "meet up" point for us and many of our camping friends. The sites are fairly level and they have added more gravel to the roads. The bathrooms are kept clean and most necessities can be found in the camp store. We usually pull our camper, but we have stayed in cabin 116.

Cabins 116 and 117 have dishes, cookware, etc. furnished.

135 and 135A are Jack and Jill sites, which we have used often with close friends. Sites along the river go fast, so make your reservations early.

If you can get by with 30 amp service, site 25 allows you to face your camper towards the swimming hole.

Not only is it crowded, but very noisy. It is on the main road/highway. Regardless of what the info says, the wifi sucks. They give you the password, but it refuses to let you sign in... Due to thunderstorms, we weren't able to enjoy the pool area.

No showers, no soap or warm water in the campgrounds. Picnic areas get soap. The camp sites are great. Bears and Turkeys are plentiful.

I have been coming to King's Holly Haven Rv Park since 2019. It is very peaceful. It's also located just 1 mile from the Parkway which makes it a convenient location to all of the attractions. The folks are always friendly here. The showers are clean and hot. The pool is a refreshing dip on hot days. We loved camping near the creek. Bonus: the office serves free coffee in the mornings :)

This place is awesome! Great location on a river, quiet, well maintained… even has a Gatlinburg trolley stop on the grounds so makes day trips into the town easy!

There’s wifi. Met Jimmy, super nice man. He got us all situated. The campground was pretty packed. They have flush toilets. Showers and water and power for trailers. Everyone seems pretty nice. There’s a huge park next door. We let our dogs run wild. They got their willies out. There’s also a fenced in playground for the kids. Is super nice.

Had a great time, beautiful area and great hike! Sadly it rained my first day so my dog and I stayed in, but the 2nd day it was amazing spectacular! I’m already planning another visit.

General: Huge RV park located just on the outskirts of kitschy Pigeon Forge. There are back-in sites, pull-thru sites, and cabins. As is typical in RV parks, there is little to no privacy between sites.

Site Quality: Some have concrete pads while others have gravel pads. All are level. All are FHU. We had reserved a “premium” riverfront access site plus we paid an extra fee to “secure” our site (as opposed to having them assign a site upon arrival). We did have riverfront access, however, what we did not know when we reserved was that on the other side of the river directly behind our site was an asphalt plant and we listened to heavy trucks rumbling back and forth all day long. Site 17 was like a pie slice, however, so we did have a bit more space between us and neighboring sites than other sites. 

Bath/Shower house: Code entry and clean. Two of the three stalls in the one closest to our site did not have working latches. However, because everyone else in the campground had large RVs (with bathrooms), I never saw anyone else in the bathroom. The shower had nice hot water but in the women’s, the flow was a little wimpy. Hubby said his shower had a nice strong flow. 

Amenities/Activities: There are many including two pools, a lazy river, a hot tub, a bounce pad, pickle ball, gaga ball, basketball, an arcade, a fitness center, an RV wash, a dog park, and laundry. You pay a resort fee for these amenities. The laundry room was clean and reasonably priced at $2 wash and $2/dry. 

With our camper van, we had the smallest by far rig in the entire campground. We typically do not stay in RV parks but we needed to empty our gray water, fill our fresh water, and do laundry. It was a splurge to stay here so we only stay in RV parks when we need to. For the price, three stars; 4 for the amount of amenities.

All the staff we encountered were friendly. The cafe has the best food. The chef and wait staff friendly and funny. The assistant general manager took us to the cafe on a golf cart, gave us a tour and had us in stitches.  Her and I share the same first name! We would eat there just to ride with her and for the amazing food. The girl that picked us up was very sweet.

The sites are level. No grass to worry about rocks hitting a window when they mow. Campground is super clean, they pick up the trash for guests. The bath house smelled really fresh and clean. There is so much to do there that if you don't want to go sight seeing you can stay and have plenty of fun there.

They have been open a year and still building. 

We are local told all of our friends and will only stay here from now on.

Over the summer I was doing a road trip over a few days and one of the states I wanted to stop in was NC. Got pretty lucky and found this, Long beautiful back roads and no service, atleast for me I had nothing but hey thats the best part. Pulled into this exact spot i’m pretty sure it was, right as someone else was pulling out of it which was damn meant to be. Drove around most of the lake and found some other options for spots if this was taken for you. But if you can, I would definitely check for this site. I forget the exact spot number since I’m posting this many months after I was there. Anyways absolutely gorgeous and calming, atleast it was for me. I will for sure be here again.

We loved our time here. Very clean with paved sites, pool, basketball and lake. Great place to spend a whole week. We will be back!

My fiancee and I stayed here for 3 months. It was fine at first. The camp host told us that it was only open til Nov 15th like TVA campgrounds. He actually made it sound like it was a TVA campground. The big rule here that nobody talks about is "live here, but look like you don't live here". Everything went fine until Hurricane Helene hit. It destroyed our campsite. We started the clean up the day after the storm and nothing was said until it still wasn't clean 3 days after the storm .We were working as fast and hard as we could , but it wasn't fast enough for them because they were afraid TVA would find out they all live here year round. He said the camp had changed hands and the new owners were going to be looking over the park and deciding who could stay past the close date of November 15th. We were told to clean it up as fast as we could. I assured him we were working as fast as possible. About this time we got a call and found out my mother had fallen ill and had to leave camp for a few days to go stay with her. We returned to an eviction notice giving us 48 hours to vacate. This was impossible si I contacted the camp host and told him I needed more time and that my mother had been diagnosed with cancer. He seemed to understand and said he'd give us til the 1st to be gone . This gave us an additional 2 weeks or do we thought. A few days later the camp host pulled up obviously drunk and was screaming about the rent needing to be paid. Considering we'd rented a truck, secured a new site, and rented a 2nd storage for everything so we could meet his deadline I we didn't have the money and couldn't pay the rent for the month we were being evicted. I explained that we would pay but since I didn't know what date we were leaving I wouldn't pay him the month in advance like he demands of everyone else who stays here. He got very upset and started texting daily in a very rude manner demanding rent. I read reviews on the place and there were 3 or 4 where people stared that they had to leave and were refused refunds fit the days they dud not stay. Knowing this we were unwilling to pay until we knew how many days we'd be there He said that they would tack on $45 a day if I didn't pay it by the 7th. I tried to explain we would pay when we left but he became verbally abusive and did so on 2 other occasions well before the 1st of the month we'd agreed on. The 2nd time he cussed my fiancee and threw gravel and dust in the air and all over her car while yelling " you tried to f#$k me over just remember that" as though he was coming back with "his boys" to physically put us out by force. We'd been working our asses off attempting to leave the entire time but I guess it wasn't good enough. These people show favorites and treat people differently based on who they want to have there year round. We left and would advise anyone to look elsewhere for a spot to park your RV and camp. There is a right and a wrong way to treat people and our site being a little messed up after a hurricane was enough to make this camp host act very threatening and treat us in a pretty awful way in a very difficult time in our lives. Not the nicest folks we've ever met for sure.
