Big Meadow Family Campground

Big Meadow Family Campground operates year-round with reservations available and accommodates RVs up to 75 feet on pull-through sites. The campground sits across the street from the Tennessee River, providing direct water access for tubing and floating activities that multiple visitors highlight as a key attraction. Sites include full hookups with electric, water, and sewer connections, plus each row operates on its own electrical meter to prevent power surges.

The facility maintains strict policies including locked gates from midnight to 7 AM and a $5 visitor parking fee. Cheri J. notes the owners are "busy keeping the place clean" with daily maintenance as needed. Amenities include restrooms, showers, laundry facilities, WiFi, cable TV, and a camp store stocked with commonly forgotten items. Recreation features include a splash pad, basketball court, sand playground, and small fitness area with treadmills and bikes.

The campground provides RV storage services and staff assistance with site setup and parking. A small pet area accommodates dogs, though management enforces waste cleanup policies strictly. Campers can access Smoky Waters Campground and other nearby options within walking distance along the river corridor. The location serves as a base for Great Smoky Mountains National Park access, with Cades Cove nine miles away and Gatlinburg 15 miles distant.

Great time

Had a wonderful at this campground during the half marathon. The owners are super friendly and willing to help you out with whatever you need. They lead us to our pull through and made sure we were set up. They have a perfect location to get to the smokies. It was a short drive to them. We would book again from them

Clean campground

Full hookup water sites are only 30 amp. Clean and quiet. Our favorite part is floating the river that is in front of the campground. It’s a must do!
