Description

A four-acre plot bordered by Burnett Creek. We have multiple creekside, primitive camping spots that are shaded by trees, and adaptable to multiple groups. From the meadow to the creek, life swarms all around. Bees, Butterfly Bush, Milkweed, Otters and more enrich the environment. Potable water and a portable bathroom are on site. The site itself is an easy distance to Downtown Knoxville and even easier access to all that South Knox's Urban Wilderness has to offer. It uniquely offers a hint of backcountry camping without the 25-mile hike in, a great way to test the waters for primitive camping or an easy stop close to the city for a seasoned traveler. Best suited for van, car, bike, tent, and hammock camping without the frills of a KOA. Bookings are for 2 people each to keep it from feeling crowded. If you have more than 2 you will need to book multiple sites.

Car camping

This place was great. I’m not sure if it’s always like this but I was literally the only person there at this time so it felt very primitive. You communicate with the host via text and she’s very responsive, there is no check in at an office which I love, just reserve your site, pay and get in here. They have free firewood a porta potty and a water spigot. Next to some good hiking and biking trails. Every site with the exception of one was right next to the creek. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Good spot for primitive camping!

Clean and quite. Firewood provided. My campsite was creek side and a stones throw from the firewood and porta-potty. The contact from Kat was friendly and prompt when I had a question.

Primitive Perfection!

Our new favorite campsite! There are no hookups, so if you bring a camper you’ll need a generator, but for tents, this space is primo! Nice communal fire pit area, lots of space and privacy depending on the spot you get, all are along a nice flowing creek. Perfect to relax and recharge. Close to some great breweries, hiking, paddling, great biking. All around a great place!

Hidden Gem

I hate to even review this due to how amazing this place was and my wife and I had the entire place to ourselves! All sites are right along the creek. Firepit provided and there is typically a portable restroom available. This weekend the restroom was being replaced so we got an even better deal. Owners are awesome and extremely helpful if needed. We will 100% be making this a regular spot for our new rooftop tent.

Primitive Camping Close to the City

This small campground is a really beautiful meadow. I camped here with a friend over Labor Day weekend. It's very primitive but also very beautiful. Only a few miles from the city and a short bike ride on country roads or mountain bike trails!
