Several RV parks near Buchanan, Tennessee offer concrete pads with full hookups for recreational vehicles. Eagles Nest RV Park provides concrete sites with full service utility kiosks, cable TV connections, and a laundry facility. Little Eagle RV Park, also in Buchanan, features boat-in access for RVs with water, sewer, and electric connections year-round. "Eagle's Nest RV Park is a little slice of heaven located just 1500 feet from Kentucky Lake and 10 minutes from Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area," notes one camper. Paris Landing-Kentucky Lake KOA accommodates larger rigs with back-in sites on gravel pads, while Tanglewood Campground and RV Resort in nearby Kentucky maintains 60 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service options.

Road access to most RV parks requires careful navigation on some narrower roads leading to waterfront locations. According to a review, "the road leading up to the campground is a bit narrow and hard to maneuver a big RV." Many parks fill quickly during summer months and weekends, especially those with lake access and boat ramps. Dump stations are available at several locations, with the closest public dump station situated at Golden Pond Visitor Center. Most parks allow pets but have specific rules regarding leashes and designated pet areas. Seasonal availability varies by location—some parks like Little Eagle RV Park remain open year-round, while others like Outback RV Resort operate from April through November. Cell service can be spotty in more remote waterfront locations, particularly in coves and areas with significant tree coverage.

      Eddy Creek Marina Resort

      A Resort RV park

Eddy creek RV park is very well kept, clean, and somewhat secluded on Lake Barkley. Only open from April through Oct, the RV camp area is behind a code locked gate, which helps to keep the park private. There is a dump station, laundry facility, bath house , propane available and Echo Charlie's restaurant that serves typical American food that includes large servings!  I didn't see any tent sites, only RV sites, most with newer looking decks, level sites, electric and water hookup to each site.  The beach is private, the pool is private, everything is within walking distance, but most people were using golf carts, as it is a good distance from the RV area to the restaurant or the pool.  Bicycling would also be ideal, most areas are paved or at least compacted gravel.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground

      One of the best

Like most if our reviews...I cannot comment on showers, bathrooms, etc. We have an RV for that. They do have a clean accessible laundry room that is nice. That being said...do yourself a favor and just stop here. This place a great find and one if the best we've stayed at. It's clean, plenty of space, great pond with ducks and geese, and the hosts are second to none...seriously the best. We stayed at a pull through, concrete pad site that was perfectly level. Their office is decorated in a really cool 50s diner fashion and makes you want to order a shake and some fries. Just a great spot. Given the time...I could see this being a long term spot for us.

Kentucky Dam Village State Resort Park

      Old and small

The sites are very small but spread out. Our 35 ft class a barely fit. They do show length limits for sites and they definitely max limit. There is electric (30 amp) and water at the site but it was 75 ft from my sites. Extensions are needed. The staff is friendly and the roads are paved but there are signs directing where to go. Great bathrooms and plentiful. Also coin operated laundry. Fairly close to the freeway.

      Hillman Ferry Campground

      Clean and Rustic

The best part of this campground is the beautiful rustic old timey feel. There are updated modern bathhouses dispersed throughout. The camp store is well stocked. There is a very nice boat ramp and several boat parking areas. “T” area is our favorite with full hookups and beautiful pine trees. A premier and amazing mountain bike trail system is accessible directly from campground!! The Canal Loop Trail and North South Trails are well known and revered by area mountain bikers and hikers. No WiFi or internet service. Cell signal in prior years have been spotty. Very family friendly and lots of kids riding bikes and playing everywhere!

      Indian Point RV Park

      Overnight only

The campground sits on three level overlooking Lake Barkly. There are only 5 pull-thru sites with full hookups on wide open ground, no shade. There are 16 water and electric sites. The 150+ sites are long term rental properties. There is a swimming pool, play ground, boat ramp, and game room. Dump site at entrance. More a retirement community than a RV camp.

      Canal Campground- Lake Barkley COE

      And then some.....

Canal Recreation Area is right by Grand Rivers, Ky and Patti's Settlement. That right there is enough said as far as outdoor activities go. Then you have Canal Rec Area that just adds too the vacation.

Book early because the best sites stay full, but really they are all pretty good sites. The different areas cover just about anything you are looking for in a site from big rig pull through sites, tiered tent sites, water and beach access sites and boat ramp sites.

There is a trail within the campground to walk, a day use area, newer showerhouse/laundry facilities and dump stations. The area is large enough to jog, bike and golf cart. If your not interested in the nearby entertainment there is enough to do right on site to keep you occupied for your entire vacation be it a day or a week+

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground

      RV Park and RV Repair!

Parker’s Crossroads is located very conveniently off of I-40 and the park is gorgeous! They have some long term campers, storage, and an RV Repair Center on site. The shop inside has more parts then we have ever seen at an RV Park. While here we needed a switch for a water heater, they had it!

The campground had some narrow roads and some less than level sites but they were all doable. They have a nice pool area, spaces for dogs to be walked (on leash), pet waste disposal, cabins, and full hook ups.

The park was very quiet and clean, well kept. They have large mature trees, and great landscaping.

The cellular service for TMobile and AT&T we’re both decent and streaming video was possible each night.

    Guide to Buchanan

RV sites near Buchanan, Tennessee typically cluster around Kentucky Lake which covers 160,000 acres with 2,380 miles of shoreline. Most campgrounds in this area maintain water, sewer, and electric hookups year-round despite winter temperatures that can dip below freezing between December and February. Access roads to many lakeside camping areas require navigation on narrower county roads that can be challenging for vehicles over 40 feet in length.

    What to do

Fishing access: Several campgrounds offer direct water access for anglers targeting Kentucky Lake's bass, crappie, and catfish populations. Eagles Nest RV Park is located "just 1500 feet from Kentucky Lake" according to camper Andy S., who notes its proximity to "Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area" makes it convenient for both lake and forest activities.

Wildlife viewing: The campground areas around Buchanan provide opportunities to observe deer, eagles, and other wildlife. According to MickandKarla W., during their stay at Birmingham Point Campground, they "saw deer and eagles in the CG during our overnight stay" while enjoying lake views from their site.

Water activities: Beyond fishing, campers can enjoy swimming and boating at several campgrounds. Erin P. mentions that Birmingham Point Campground has "a nice swimming beach and beautiful views," though she notes that hiking and biking options are more limited in the immediate area.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Many campers highlight well-maintained bathrooms and common areas at campgrounds near Buchanan. At Outback RV Resort, Hannah K. notes they have "super clean facilities" and can't "say a bad thing about them." Similarly, Erich H. found Eagles Nest RV Park to be "clean and quiet. Definitely one of the nicest campgrounds that we have seen in the area."

Welcoming atmosphere: Campground hosts frequently receive praise for their hospitality. At Southern Comfort RV Park, Rhonda S. notes "The owners are super helpful," while Caroline S. observed at Eagles Nest that they were "very impressed with the management of the park. Very welcoming and helpful."

Seasonal activities: Several parks organize regular events, particularly during warmer months. Hannah K. praised Outback RV Resort for "fun campground wide activities" that contributed to their "fantastic experience" while camping.

    What you should know

Site sizing varies: RV sites have different configurations that may limit larger rigs. At Birmingham Point Campground, MickandKarla W. caution that "We wouldn't go in there with anything over 38'" when describing the pull-through site, noting they "had to maneuver to get out of the site without running over the railroad tie border."

Weekend noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience increased activity and noise on weekends. Caroline S. notes that at Eagles Nest RV Park, "on Friday and Saturday nights the two businesses that back up to the park are noisy with music, cars, people. Just be aware."

Seasonal closures: Not all campgrounds operate year-round. According to Sara M., Outback RV Resort "closes for a few months in Fall," while Birmingham Point Campground operates from March 15 to November 15.

    Tips for camping with families

Water park access: For families seeking water recreation beyond the lake, Venture River RV Park offers an adjacent water park. Brandon T. recommends: "We would stay here again and bring the cousins to play at the water park," though he notes the campground lacks "mature trees for shade" due to being relatively new.

Playground amenities: Multiple campgrounds offer dedicated play areas for children. Delci L. reports that at Cypress Lakes RV Park, "Kids enjoyed the playground and the reservoir is really beautiful," though she noted disappointment that "the pool had been open...it's still in the process of a renovation."

Walking trails: Some campgrounds feature walking paths suitable for family exploration. Joshua C. highlights that Southern Comfort RV Park has a "walking trail" along with "free WiFi" which can be important for families needing connectivity.

    Tips from RVers

RV repair services: For travelers experiencing mechanical issues, Coyote View RV Park offers on-site repair services. According to Whistle P., "If your RV needs service, CAMP HERE!" explaining that when their slide stopped working, "Lowell looked at the slide the next day. He ended up having to go basically wire by wire to find out what was broken."

Leveling requirements: Several parks have sites requiring additional leveling equipment. MickandKarla W. noted they "needed levelers on the door side" at Birmingham Point Campground, while at Coyote View RV Park, alicia L. mentioned their site "wasn't completely level, but had we needed to stay longer we would have leveled ourselves."

Site reservations: During peak seasons, advance booking is recommended. Caroline S. reports Eagles Nest RV Park requires payment "for your site when you make your reservation" and that "Check in is all done on line. You go directly to your site upon arrival."
