Several RV campgrounds serve the New Ringgold area with varied hookup options and seasonal availability. Robin Hill Campground operates from April 1 to November 1, providing full hookups including 50-amp electric service and sewer connections. Appalachian Camping Resort, located in Shartlesville, accommodates large RVs and operates seasonally from April through October with full hookup sites. Stonybrook RV Resort in Lehighton offers spacious, level sites with 50-amp service and includes boat-in access options alongside standard drive-in sites. Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort remains open year-round with sites designed for larger motorhomes and pull-through access. "The site was nice and level side to side. Their pool looked very nice although we did not use it," noted one visitor about Stonybrook RV Resort.

Most parks in the region require advance reservations, particularly during fall foliage season when availability becomes limited. Pull-through sites at Appalachian Camping Resort and Robin Hill provide easier access for larger rigs, though some visitors report tight spacing between neighboring sites. Sanitary dump stations are available at most facilities, with Robin Hill utilizing tank-style sewer connections at some sites. Electrical service reliability varies by location, with one visitor noting issues with surge protection at Stonybrook. Pet policies generally allow dogs throughout the area campgrounds, though designated walking areas may be limited. Cellular service can be inconsistent, especially at parks in valley locations or surrounded by mountains. Seasonal campers occupy many prime sites at these parks, so transient RVers should book well in advance for premium locations.

      3.8(16)43mi from New RinggoldRVs, Cabins

      5. Sun Valley Campground

      100 Mile View Camping

What a great place. So unique! Love the view, and a great experience! There are no hook ups, so be prepared but if you are looking for the dispersed camping experience you have found it. What a gem!

      Hickory Run State Park Campground

Peaceful State Park Camping in the Fall

This is a large campground with a wide array of campsites so be careful attention when you book online, especially if you have a pet because some sites are not pet-friendly. Some are 50-amp full hook-up and some are primitive with no hook-ups.

There is a nice nature center with interesting interpretive exhibits and lots of informational brochures including ones about the hiking trails, bears, scat and tracks of local animals, and fishing. Our site was at the edge of the campground and backed up to Route 534 which resulted in a bit of road noise at our site. Other than the road noise the campground was pretty quiet and was not very crowded when we camped there in October.

Not all sites are level and we happened to book one that was not and we had to live with a slant for our stay. The roads in the park are gravel/dirt and since it rained the day we arrived the roads were a muddy mess which made the roads slippery and there were lots of potholes. Unfortunately, some campers were disrespectful and left bags of trash in the fire pit and scattered around their site which was totally unnecessary because there were dumpsters plenty of dumpsters in the campground. Since we camped at Hickory Run late in the season, there were no camp hosts and the trash never got picked up.

The campground is open from mid-April to mid-December; however, the shower facilities and dump station are not available after the third week of October so plan accordingly. We really like the hiking trails which are of varying degrees of difficulty and lengths. The Hawk Falls is a nice easy walk (1.4 miles round-trip) to a waterfall but is extremely popular so don’t think you will be admiring the falls alone. The parking lot at this trail head fills up fast so you better get there early if you want to get a spot.

You can enter the park from two different directions. If you have a big-rig, it is best to approach from the east side. We made the mistake of coming in from the west side as we dropped down from I-80 and came down 534 and the road was really windy with no shoulder. Luckily, there was very little traffic so we could go 10 mph and safely navigate the roads.

Be aware alcohol is not allowed in PA state parks. This park does allow hunting in certain sections of the park. The no-hunting areas are clearly marked with white no hunting signs on trees and you can also pick up a brochure from the office that designates hunting and no-hunting sections.

      Country Acres Campground

      Lovely campground!

Country Acres is a lovely, well maintained campground. Sites are level and bath house facilities clean and modern. Friendly staff in the office. Dog friendly. Local to all the Lancaster attractions. A complimentary farmland tour is offered by bus and it was great. They take you out into an area of Amish farms and shops and make a stop at 2 of these. The fresh Amish pretzels are amazing!

      100 Mile View Camping

      The best views

This is a hidden gem, as close to dispersed camping you can get with dirt, gravel roads, large stone fire pits, a amazing views with the added benefit of a five gallon jug of non potable water and very clean port-a-potties. The owner regularly patrols the site and makes sure everything is okay.

      Ricketts Glen State Park Campground

      Beautiful Falls!

What a great campground! We stayed here on a recommendation from a friend after the Overland Expo. Great hiking trails and the falls were absolutely breathtaking. Truly enjoyed our stay and plan to return!

      Old Mill Stream Campground

      Never Again

The advertisements for Olde Mill Campground were disingenuous. The campsite was 20 yards from a roller coaster. The NOISE of the roller coaster and children on it screaming was as relentless and unnerving as any train we have ever slept near. There was no quiet until almost midnight. The “pull-through” site left my truck almost in the road and our 25’ Airstream slightly over the road on the backside. The site was not level. The sites were close enough to hear a neighbor’s snoring.

      Council Cup Campground

      Better than nothing

Small campground with rude owner. Everything I asked about was putting her out. It was cheap though at $36 for water and electric with a military discount.

      Beacon Hill Camping

      Great location

We stayed here to go to the Hershey RV show—about 55 min drive. Right in the center of Amish country. Campground is adults only. It was very clean. The bathrooms were very clean with great water pressure. The roads are tight for getting into sites. Site 5 was not level side to side. We met great people there.

      Echo Valley Campground

Big sites with lots of trees

We only spent the night and didn't look at the amenities. The manager was very friendly and accommodating.

    Guide to New Ringgold

Cabin camping options near New Ringgold, Pennsylvania offer diverse accommodations from rustic to premium sites. The area sits in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with elevations ranging from 400-1,200 feet, creating varying terrain across campgrounds. Fall temperatures typically range from 40-70°F, while summer camping season averages 65-85°F with moderate humidity.

    What to do

Disc golf adventures: Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort features an on-site disc golf course perfect for beginners and experienced players. "If you're into Disc golf this place has that too," notes a visitor, highlighting the unique recreational option not found at many area campgrounds.

Mountain biking excursions: The elevation changes at Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort create exciting terrain for cyclists. "Ride the ski lifts up to the top of the mountain then you get to bike down it, they have rental bikes available or bring your own," explains one reviewer who appreciated this distinctive activity option.

Family-friendly crafting: Seasonal craft activities provide entertainment regardless of weather conditions. At Thousand Trails PA Dutch Country, a camper noted they offer "crafts & arts, family bingo," providing structured entertainment beyond typical outdoor recreation.

Amish countryside exploration: The area's unique cultural heritage offers educational opportunities. "I remember going to the market and learning about culture that I was not necessarily familiar with before," shares a camper about their experience near PA Dutch Country, highlighting the cultural immersion possibilities.

    What campers like

Clean, modern bathroom facilities: Many campgrounds feature recently renovated shower facilities. At Stonybrook RV Resort, "The laundry area and shower rooms are beautiful and clean," according to one reviewer, while another called them "the best I've ever seen."

Spacious tent sites: Tent campers appreciate the dedicated spaces at some campgrounds. "Tent site was very spacious and clean," reports a visitor to Appalachian Camping Resort, noting adequate room for setup and activities.

Winter camping options: Unlike many seasonal campgrounds, some stay open year-round. "We stayed here during the winter January-February no activities going on. It does offer beautiful views especially covered in snow," explains a Stonybrook RV Resort visitor, highlighting the off-season camping possibility.

Fishing opportunities: Multiple campgrounds offer on-site fishing ponds. "There is a pond for fishing however we didn't have any luck. It had a lot of pond scum and there were a lot of duck families around," notes a Robin Hill visitor, providing realistic expectations about the fishing conditions.

    What you should know

Site leveling challenges: Many campgrounds in the region feature hilly terrain requiring extra setup effort. "The Campground itself is in super condition— everything works as it's supposed to and is clean and maintained," notes a Stonybrook visitor, but adds, "the entrance made for a challenging entry up a steep grade, narrow roadway, and sharp turn in."

Seasonal availability varies: Operating schedules differ significantly between campgrounds. At Spring Gulch Resort Campground, the season runs "Mar 21 - Dec 1," while Robin Hill Campground operates from "April 1 to November 1," and Blue Mountain RV and Camping Resort remains open "All year."

Noise considerations: Some properties have unexpected noise sources. "There's a shooting range near the property, so at all hours you will hear target practice going on, especially in the wee early hours," warns a Pinch Pond visitor, providing important information for light sleepers.

Rocky terrain impacts: The geography affects camping setup in specific ways. One Spring Gulch camper noted, "Campsites can be on top of each other and can be very rocky or muddy. We actually broke quite a few tent stakes just trying to get our footprint down."

    Tips for camping with families

Activity planning strategy: Scheduling campground activities enhances family experiences. "The activity director organized a nice continental breakfast, free chair massages, and raffled off manicure and pedicures. They had an art activity for the children, BINGO on Friday night, and a live band on Saturday night," reports a Robin Hill camper.

Recreation options for various ages: Different age groups need appropriate entertainment. At Lake-In-Wood Campground, "Huge pond for fishing, miniature golf, nice indoor and outdoor pool and a kiddie pool. Goats to pet and watch," provides diverse options for different interests.

Playground proximity consideration: Strategic site selection helps with family logistics. "The playground was luckily right across from us up on the hill," notes a Robin Hill visitor, highlighting the convenience of being near children's recreation areas.

Timing for amenities access: Facility hours vary by season and day of week. "Staff was nice but not enough staffing to keep amenities like pool open after 5 during the week," observed a Spring Gulch camper, suggesting planning daytime swimming during weekday stays.

    Tips from RVers

Arrival timing strategy: Early arrival significantly impacts site options at some campgrounds. "The first thing to know is that Thousand Trails sites are a first come, first serve. Meaning you have to arrive early in order to get the best spots," advises a camper from Thousand Trails Hershey, suggesting a 1 pm arrival.

Water system considerations: Water quality varies across campgrounds. "Water was rusty in our row came out brown at first then was tan after running through our filter for the entire stay," reports a PA Dutch Country visitor, recommending water filters for certain campground sections.

Site selection for larger rigs: Specific campground sections accommodate bigger vehicles better. "If you are an RVer or 5th Wheeler, the best sites IMHO are those that back up to the periphery and are northernmost up the slight embankment," recommends a visitor familiar with PA Dutch Country's layout.

Surge protection requirements: Electrical stability varies between campgrounds. A visitor to Stonybrook RV Resort mentioned, "We had an issue with our surge protector and the manager had an electrician out to us quickly who helped us solve a problem," highlighting both the potential issue and responsive service.
