Amish buggies share the road outside Beacon Hill Camping, and that detail sets the tone for what this adults-only campground in Intercourse, Pennsylvania actually is: a compact, well-maintained base for exploring Lancaster County's working Amish farmland. Sites are level and clean. The campground runs from April 1 through November 1, with nightly rates between $57 and $70.
The layout divides into two levels, and that distinction matters depending on rig size. The lower level accommodates larger rigs, with guests reporting two 40-foot motorhomes fitting with some planning, while the upper level has more shade and works better for rigs under 30 feet. The maximum length is 48 feet. Full hookups including electric, water, and sewer are available, and the campground has WiFi, though reviewers note the signal can be weak at some sites and the owners ask guests not to stream. AT&T cell service gets positive mentions. "Super clean and very quiet," notes Michael R., and cleanliness comes up consistently across reviews. The dog run is a practical plus for pet owners.
The campground sits within walking distance of Intercourse's shops and Amish craft outlets. Guided tours into the Amish countryside depart nearby. Reviewers heading further afield mention Shady Maple Smorgasbord for dining and the Hershey area, roughly an hour's drive, for attractions including the transportation museum and Hershey Park. Lancaster city is also a reasonable drive. Alex & Mary O. describe it as "quiet and surrounded by Amish farm lands and shopping locations nearby."
Reservations are available and worth making, particularly in summer when the campground draws regulars who return season after season. The no-children policy keeps the atmosphere low-key. Campfires are allowed. Campers wanting more space or a family-oriented setup might consider Country Acres Campground or Florys Cottages & Camping, both located southwest of Intercourse.
