Sites too close and other campers show no respect

As a single mom of two daughters, camping can be a bit scary at times. Our first time, first night here the couple at the next site has left their Dog wonder to use the bathroom outside our tent. The first time it happen my kids were terrified because it was pitch black and an animal just started…

Primitive

While we needed to be in the area, we selected this campground for its lake access. Come to find out that it’s a shared pay-public beach also. All day, every day, we had folks jumping the fence near our site to sneak into the campground so they wouldn’t have to pay. Sympathetic with the owners.…

Limited

We decided to still try out this park even knowing it was going to be hot and that the pool was closed (received email months after booking informing us of the close). Big mistake! Lots of bugs, small wet/muddy playground, and lots of hills which made it difficult for the kids to ride bikes safely.…

Big sites, but dirty

Sites are spacious, but bathrooms are filthy. They say the clean them daily, but the showers never looked remotely clean, stalls were constantly out of toilet paper, and only two of the three sink worked. We could only fine one spigot for drinking water (the other had been removed). No way would I…

Great Campground

I stayed at turkey swamp for just one night we had to pack it in early because a storm was rolling in but otherwise a great campground! we hiked one of the few trails in the morning and it was clean and well marked. we kayaked after that and the one thing that wasnt very great was that we brought…

Great state park

It was a great experience with the exception of your neighbors being pretty close to you in the tent area. Still wanting to try more dispersed camping because it was just a little too loud/busy for us. But the staff was great and the walk to the pond was an enjoyable one! Nice, easy, flat trails so…

Impromtu tent camping success!

I was able to book my site the day before the trip. The site itself was set back some, and felt secluded while still being near the parking area.

Walk to bathrooms and camp store was on the longer side. Firewood was $5 a bundle, but the register wasn't working and they could only take cash.

The…

Very clean park with plenty to do

This kid friendly campsite allowed our family plenty of entertainment. Everything was within close walking distance and the staff were extremely helpful. Pool and bathrooms were very clean. The playground was in great shape and the mini golf and rock mining were the perfect activities for my 10 and…

Beautiful well equipped campground

Used this very clean county park numerous times. Pull through sites are well spaced and private and each has permanent trash and recycling bins with bag provided, water, AC power, table and a post for a lantern. There's a pond for kayaking, playground and archery range. Bathrooms are dated looking…

Last minute camping

There was a lot to do in French Creek. We rented a boat, did some hiking, & attended events in the amphitheater. They are also really pet friendly, our dog was even allowed on the boat with us. The only thing I would change is our choice of lot. It was a last-minute reservation so we took which…
