Group camping brings visitors to Evansburg State Park Campground, where organized camping arrangements are the primary access method. The facility sits within the 3,349-acre state park in Collegeville, providing full hookups for RVs along with drive-in, walk-in, and boat-in access options.
Skippack Creek runs through the park, drawing anglers who target brown trout in its waters. Multiple reviewers mention fishing opportunities, though Pennsylvania fishing licenses with trout endorsements are required. The creek also creates muddy conditions throughout much of the park, particularly on trails and near water access points. "I find Evansburg to be the muddiest State Park I've every experienced," notes Andrew C., who recommends bringing extra shoes and clothing changes.
Hiking trails wind through the park's wooded areas, with some leading to less crowded fishing spots away from main access points. The terrain supports skiing during winter months. Campers exploring the region can find campgrounds around Skippack for additional options. Wildlife encounters are common, and tick presence has been reported by visitors.
Sites accommodate big rigs with electric, water, and sewer hookups available. Pets are welcome throughout the campground. Reservations can be made in advance, which is recommended given the organized camping structure.
