Quiet and Free! (for tents)

Change of plans last minute for my little brothers birthday brought us here. At first we couldn't figure out where to set up camp so we asked the camp host who was very friendly. Turns out that you can set up a tent basically anywhere and there's zero cost to tent camp, no fees what so ever!

Quiet and quaint county park.

They have about 15 or so rv parking pads with water and electric sites with a dump station near by. Park was very clean and quiet. Park is well maintained also.

This looks Fake

I'm almost positive this camp site is fake. I wouldn't call the number to make reservations.

Great fishing and quiet camp ground

My dad and I have camped at Lone Star many times. Usually we have the place to ourselves in late fall or early spring. It's peaceful and quiet out there. Great place for kayak fishing. The town of Milligan nearby is really cute. Avoid mid July if you don't want a crowd . That's when they have…

Quiet, peaceful lakeshore camping

Nice, grassy sites right around the small lake, next to a cornfield. There are picnic tables, fire pits, a playground, and a couple shaded pavilions for a picnic or rain shelter. It’s pretty quiet except for the constant low hum of a nearby mill - very Kansas. It’s patrolled by police regularly and…

Nice view

Stayed one night on my way through. Had a nice view of lake from my primitive campsite. Bring charcoal or wood if you want to use fire ring. Didn’t see any on-site. There are full hookup sites available and a boat launch. Largest Ball of Twine nearby 😀

Nice quiet, little city park

Looks to be about 5 campsites here with full hookups. $10 to camp, pay at city hall about 1/2 mile away. Shaded area with a short trail along the creek. Saw a dump station that we'll use in the morning.

Very nice city RV Park

The fee is based on your donation. No reservations needed but first come first served. The sites are level and have electric. Two fenced in dog parks. Close to small town. Very nice stop over point. Only negative is road noise during the night.

There is more here than what you see at first glance. There is a ton of shade and a lot of 30A hookups only like 5 50A spots. This is one that will go on our list of place to go. Oh and it’s Labor Day weekend Friday night at 9pm and still 15 open spots.
