    Cozy Corner RV Park

    Cozy location south of Clinton

Nice park that has flat/level sites with 50/30 full hookups. Salt water pool, play ground, camp store with onsite storage available for campers or boats, this is a great place to be if you want to do some fishing or hunting at Truman Lake.

Small pond on site and storm shelter. Cell coverage a bit shaky- park has wifi

Increase in the number of RVers has this place packed so a quick call and reservation to hold the site is recommended

    Great owners

    Damsite

    Good fishing and great views

Very peaceful campground. It has a peninsula with some nice, shady sites but also another very wooded area on a bluff. The backside of the peninsula has zero shade (sites 26-40). All sites have good picnic tables and fire rings. Sites near the dump station can be very aromatic. No swim beach but you can access the water straight from the rocky shore. A lot of people tie their boats to shore below their campsite. There is a gas station/trading post right outside the entrance. And a tasty little restaurant with all kinds of sandwiches and ice cream treats. Beautiful sunrises and the sun sets over the dam. I really like this campground. Family friendly and everyone seems to have a dog:) but people do a good job of picking up after them.

Arrow Rock State Historic Site Campground — Arrow Rock State Historic Site

    Nice campsite during off season

Stayed two nights in early March in our RV. I knew the bathrooms would be locked and that the water would be off so had full fresh tank and jerry cans. There's a dump station on site so I didn't have to go home full too. Electric at the site was appreciated so we can run the furnace fan and water heater off it. I was not expecting to see no trashcans so I had to pack out. However, there were recycling bins.

I didn't see anyone selling firewood along the way so I scavenged for wood near the site. Not a big deal to find wood but it was wet and challenging to keep from smoking me out.

There were only a couple other campers and they were nice not to camp next to us. Felt like we were the only ones there. The best part of camping off season.

Walked the trail down to the river and appreciated the crushed rock trail. I didn't visit the nearby town, but will next time I visit.

The only negative was not being able to reserve and pay ahead of arrival, which means I have to bring exact cash. Who carries cash anymore?!

Site 37 is a premium site with 50 amp service for an additional cost. I didn't have enough cash to pay the premium site price and had already setup camp before realizing it. My RV has a 30 amp service and it was off season so I didn't feel too bad about paying the standard electric price.

    Turkey Creek RV Park

    Nice Campground! Nice and Quiet!

Turkey Creek was a very nice campground for our month long stay.  The park is well maintained and clean.  It is very quiet!  There is a train track nearby, but we only heard it a few times during our stay.

Amenities included full hook up, laundry room, bathrooms, showers and a fenced dog park where you 4 legged friends can enjoy some off-leash time.  We had 4 bars with AT&T and waffled between 1-3 bars with Verizon.

The location is great for visiting local attractions such as Branson Landing, Silver Dollar City and Top of the Rock.

Really appreciate the park manager, she was friendly and brought an overpayment to our attention and quickly issued a refund.

    Great experience overall!

The Great Escape RV and Camp Resort

    Ok, not great

Stopped here for an overnight on our way home to Georgia from Yellowstone. It’s ok for a 1-night stop. I wouldn’t stay more. The sites are level, with long pull-throughs, with full hookups. But there is no shade. Also no store. There is a grill/bar that serves dinner, drinks and appetizers. Pool, playground, dog park, stocked fishing pond, laundry. Bathroom/shower facilities were ok. Several text sites did have shade.

    Laurie RV Park

    Nothing fancy

We stayed here for 3 weeks, full hookups, all large pull through sites, (don’t stay in site 16)… (see photo) clubhouse and shower house is kinda nasty but we don’t need it, 6-8 trailers live there year round, no staff on site, WiFi was sketchy but if you are just looking for a place to stay and explore the Ozarks it works.

Arrow Rock State Historic Site Campground — Arrow Rock State Historic Site

    Lovely and peaceful campground

We stayed on site 13 for one night in October 2020. It’s about 15-20 minutes from I70. Electric and water hookups, clean showers, very nice campground host. You’re supposed to reserve>24 hours in advance but we pulled up around 8 pm and got a site. Good spacing between sites, pretty level parking spot, picnic table, fire pit, etc. Huge and empty picnic area- beautifully maintained. Lovely spot. Wish we had more time to explore it. We would return here again.

Raccoon Ridge — Harry S Truman State Park

Shaded, Quiet and close to the lake!

Site 36 with 30A & 120V. Public Water Spigot about 50’ away. No Sewer or Water connections at Raccoon Ridge. Plenty of dead kindling and wood around to burn. Asphalt drive with concrete pad. Picnic table, fire/grill ring, hook post w/ recycle bag attached. BEST Site is 38 which puts trailer door parallel with a 180 lake view. Heavy wooded with shared paths to lake or cove. Marina is within 1 mile by water or 15 minutes by car. Ice, Beer and necessities at Puddle Jumpers Bait Store about 10 minute drive. Hosts were great and did cleaning daily. Showers and Dump Station at top of hill few hundred yards away. Let shower water run about 3 minutes before the warm water kicks in. Swim beach is on other side of cove or about a 5 min drive. Dump Station has 4 Waste Holes, two Non-potable water spigots/hoses and one Fresh Potable Water hose and both sides have slight incline on dump tank side. Downtown Warsaw is about 15 minutes away with tourist antique shoppes, bars, ice cream shoppes and the historic Joe Dice Suspension Bridge. The Truman Dam is about same distance away. T-Mobile service with 2-3 bars, no WIFI; but HotSpot worked for ROKU. Keep food and bait inside as raccoons rule at night. Be CAUTIOUS of Red Ticks that are VERY tiny… you’ll want plenty of DEET! Flies were biting like crazy, some mosquitoes and LOTS of May Flies. You’ll see Bald Eagles, raccoons. deer, squirrels, chipmunks, hawks, turtles and FISHING near wooded edge of cove is Bass and Crappie haven!!! Also Geocaching near by!!!

We will return and hopefully get site 38!

    Kansas City East-Oak Grove KOA

    Great overnight

Easy access to Interstate and pull through sites were long enough for our truck and 32’ trailer without having to unhitch. Stayed just one night as we passed through. Looked like it would be a good place to stay for multiple nights.

Clean campground. Nice grounds. Two good fenced dog parks.

Only negatives were our hookups were literally in the next site next to their table, and their fire ring was very close to our trailer.

Guide to Windsor

RV sites near Windsor, Missouri provide varied landscapes with proximity to Truman Lake and surrounding waterways. The region sits in central Missouri with elevations averaging around 850 feet above sea level. Winter camping options remain available with temperatures typically ranging from 20-40°F during December through February, while summer months can reach the 90s with higher humidity.

What to do

Fishing at nearby ponds: Eagle's Nest RV Resort and Arrowhead Point RV Park & Cabins Campground both offer fishing opportunities without leaving the campground. Arrowhead Point has "a nice small catch and release pond," according to Jason C., making it convenient for campers wanting to fish without traveling to Truman Lake.

Swimming pools during hot months: Several campgrounds maintain swimming pools for summer heat relief. At Lake Paradise Resort, "the pool is renovated and very nice. It is very large, zero entry, up to mostly around 5 ft deep with a small area that was 9ft; there is a children's area with a sprinkler," notes Julie B.

Hiking options: Some campgrounds feature on-site trails. "Nice park, hiking trails on site, spots are well maintained. Good amenities on site and very close to everything the Lake has to offer," writes Russ G. about Majestic Oaks RV Park & Campground.

What campers like

Clean, well-maintained facilities: Campground upkeep receives frequent positive mentions. At Sidetrack RV Park in Wheatland, visitors appreciate the "amazing amenities" with one reviewer noting the "community building is great entertainment when not at the track or watching boat races."

Family-friendly seasonal events: Lake Paradise Resort hosts special activities throughout the year. "We went to a movie outside there and fireworks for Memorial Day weekend," reports erica B., adding they "can't wait to be back for 4 of July!!"

Off-the-beaten-path quiet: Campers frequently mention peaceful settings away from crowded areas. James H. described Arrowhead Point as "Off the beaten path, quiet, we love it!" noting they were "Greeted by the owner and directed to our site. Once parked and hooked up, we were visited once more by the owner to see if anything else was needed."

What you should know

Site levelness varies by campground: Some parks feature more level sites than others. Jason C. mentions Arrowhead Point has "Level sites with full hookups. 30,50 amp, water, sewer on every site."

Seasonal weather considerations: Missouri summers can be hot and humid while winter camping requires preparation. Julie B. notes Lake Paradise has "quite a bit of poison oak around the fish cleaning area" and "shade at the pool is at a minimum."

Cell service limitations: Reception can be spotty depending on carrier and location. Julie B. reported "my phone (AT&T) could not get service" at Lake Paradise Resort, while other campgrounds may offer WiFi to compensate for weak cellular signals.

Campground rules differences: Osceola RV Park & Campground allows campfires while Sidetrack RV Park prohibits them. Brittany M. from Osceola RV Park warns "if you do the same just know you might see some people skinning deer in the middle of the campground" during hunting season.

Tips for camping with families

Pool access policies: Some campgrounds include swimming fees within camping rates, others charge extra. Julie B. explains at Lake Paradise Resort, "Included in your camp fee you get 2 free daily passes per night of camping to the pool and a discounted rate for any other swimmers."

Kid-friendly amenities: Look for parks with dedicated play areas. Becky M. notes, "No playground for kids" at Turkey Creek RV Park, so families should research before booking if this is important.

Road conditions for bikes/scooters: Surface types affect children's activities. Julie notes at Lake Paradise, "Roads throughout campground are gravel, not paved, if that makes a difference with kids bringing scooters or bikes."

Tips from RVers

Pull-through availability: Several campgrounds offer these convenient sites. The Better H. mentions Osceola RV Park has "spots for any size of rig" making navigation easier for larger motorhomes.

Hookup configurations: Full hookups are standard at most parks in the Windsor area. Sidetrack RV Park provides "31 RV sites as well as cabins" with "full hook ups, so no full sewer tanks when you get home!" according to Chipper S.

Weather safety features: Some campgrounds include storm shelters for severe weather protection, important in an area prone to thunderstorms and occasional tornado warnings.
