Nice campground, awesome location!

Loved how close this campground is to Acadia National Park! Nice campground with nice facilities. It’s first come first serve and they only take check or cash. They do have an atm on site. Quarter op showers, laundry on site as well. The spots are decent size, not much for privacy.

Nice family campground minutes from Bar Harbor

Nice family campground with friendly staff. The heated pool was perfect. Most sites including ours was surrounded by trees and open in the front for a nice combinations of sun and shade. Plenty of open sites for groups to camp together.

It’s beautiful and quiet here

Even though the sites are close together, it’s quiet. There is a small beach at the lake where you can swim and kayak (for rent). People at the office are very nice, polite and accommodating. Good cell reception.

Overall, a great choice!

This is a national park campsite. First impressions, really good!

When you enter you pass by a ranger booth to register, etc. Definitely grab the campground map! Why? Because you are given a free handful of wood and the map will show you where to pick it up. We didn’t realize until later and…

Great beach to explore!

If Acadia is full... this state park is a great alternative! My favorite part is the beach!! And 30 mins from Acadia. The sites are ok. A lot on a hill... so level tent camping isn’t the best but mostly private sites. Quick walk to a beautiful beach with lots of rocks and shells to comb…

Cute camp W/E dump station

Nice size sites, 50/30/20 electric, there are a few single picnic tables under shelters, nice small pond, tent sites two with W/E. Heated shower rooms, restrooms are open. Opened couple days early to accommodate a few early campers, I being one of them. Yes I would gladly stay here again!

Cant beat the location

We stayed here because we were visiting Acadia. Duh. We hardly spent any time at the campsite. But it has everything needed for an enjoyable stay. It has a dump and water fill station at the front of the campground. The sites aren’t very private but it didn’t matter to us here. The bathrooms only…

Lots of privacy...and mosquitoes

We needed a place to stay the night near Lubec. This campground isn’t luxurious by any means but it has everything you need for an outdoors experience.

The campground has a sewer dump and potable water fill at the beginning of the campground. The hot showers are there too. Beware of spiders. The…

4 Star Site-5 Star Views

Hiking along the Cutler Coast is a unique opportunity that if you get the chance to explore, you absolutely should. There are only 5 campsites total available along the Cutler Coast, 3 of them are at the Fairy Head. We approached the area via the Inland Trail, about a 5.5 mile hike from the trial…

Fantastic location with a shuttle to Bar Harbor and other sites.

I have been going to Blackwoods yearly for nearly 20 years. Acadia is a special place but in recent years has just gotten a little too overrun for us. Despite the huge visitor increase, the campground has done a decent job of maintaining the sites. The bathrooms are tired and there is no…

Beautifully carved out of the woods. Off the beaten path.

Schoodic woods is a great place to get away from the heavily used paths and campgrounds of Mt Desert. The sites are really private. Some sites are sunnier than others and there also are some hike in sites as well. We have a drop camper and were able to use the electric and water hookup which was a…

Beautiful View...

...but remember that sound travels over water. This is truly a stunning little spot and it was so peaceful, until it wasn’t. I snagged the best spot right on the waters edge on a platform. The night I happened to stay here I had a very noisy group of young adults show up around 9pm and were up…

This campground has beautiful tent sites along the waters edge. The sunsets and sunrises are stunning and the stars at night (some sites have more open sky but at every site you can walk to the tide line OR can walk to the open field) are breathtaking. Nice clean showers. Friendly and helpful…
