Beautiful Junipers & Pines, lots of wildlife and nice camping spots spaced apart. I ❤ this mountain.

Less busy then FR 525 yet great views and easy road to access. 30 min to Sedona. Most campgrounds have fire pits set up by previous campers. You can gather firewood. 14 day max per month.

This place is magical. We drove 6.7 miles off the paved turn off to an amazing overlook. The sunset against the red rocks is fantastic. Well worth the drive for free camping. No facilities so pack it in and pack it out but there are two ancient dwelling sites that are open from 9:30-3:00 each day…
Whenever my boyfriend and I don’t want to spend the time looking for another campground or need one to fall back on, this is the place! We have camped here multiple times during various seasons. Very open, free, breath taking views. The beginning is easy to get into but the deeper you get on the…

Where I camped wasn’t necessarily within this same campground but I drove on Tonelea trail that you will see split off to the left from the main road. On this trail we’re few spots which were all taken. It was a really nice environment with hills, grass and all. Where I setup was about 50 feet…

Spent the better part of a week at a group site near the beginning of FR525. Road access near the highway entrance is fair, but gets significantly rougher the farther north you head. Rigs with lower clearance proceed with caution. Verizon cell service was low to fair, with some periods of no…
The Thousand Trails Verde Valley RV Resort is a lovely Thousand Trails RV park located in Cottonwood, Arizona in the Verde Valley. The park is very well-kept and maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The premium sites are unbelievably huge in size and have upgraded FHU. The views…
Nice forested area in Prescott Forest. Few level sites for my rig and lots of nails on the ground from pallet wood.
Wake up to hot air balloons floating in every direction. There are two main roads that have several pull offs along the way and a roundabout for scoolies, larger RVs or groups. Lots of ATVs also use this land. Apple Maps said the road was closed, but as of December, that was not the case.

Pretty cool spot right on the rio verde river, showers don’t cost extra $. Laundry is affordable, Jerome is just up the hill. Looks like if you had a shuttle car you could probably float the river to or from camp.
525 is super convenient to access Sedona. It is busy with lots of campers. Only negative is the ATV traffic on the road and kicking up dust. Can ride mountain bikes all the way into West Sedona.
We pulled onto forest road 525 and drove about a little over 5 miles in to a beautiful large camp site that went in deep off of the road. It allowed for multiple visitors and yet still provided lots of space and privacy.
We showed up around noon on a friday afternoon and was able to find this…
Amazing space to get dispersed camping. We drove in an adventure van with AWD and had no issues accessing the campgrounds. For internet access, the best we could get was always sub 10 mbps, so perhaps not the best spot for video conference meetings.
We were very lucky to get one of there 50 Amp spots in the newest areas. We had good cell service at our spot. There was plenty of room at our spot as we had two trucks our 5th wheel trailer and a cargo trailer. Very quiet spot with great view of the valley below. They also have a nice 1 mile…
