Reservations at Point of Rocks RV Campground are by phone only, and calling ahead matters: the 98-site facility runs at capacity on weekends and stays busy through the week, particularly in spring. Nightly rates range from $35 to $79, with full hookups including 30- or 50-amp electric, water, and sewer at every site. One important restriction to note before booking: the campground accepts RVs only. Converted vans, buses, and similar vehicles are not permitted regardless of their self-contained status, so confirm your rig qualifies when you call.
The campground occupies two loops set within the Granite Dells, a landscape of rounded granite boulders that shapes the layout in ways that make site quality highly variable. Because sites are carved into the rock formations rather than arranged in a grid, spacing is uneven. Some sites are spacious, flat, and well-screened from neighbors; others are cramped and exposed. The upper loop, sites 46A through 98, tends to have larger sites and better sightlines toward the surrounding rock formations. The lower loop is flatter and easier to navigate but offers less separation between rigs. Internal roads are narrow dirt, and several reviewers note that wind kicks up significant dust, which can make outdoor time uncomfortable on gusty days.
Cleanliness is a consistent theme across reviews. Erin A. calls it "VERY VERY VERY clean," and multiple campers describe the bathrooms and showers as well-maintained. WiFi, a dump station, and an on-site camp store rounding out the amenities. Watson Lake sits about a 10-15 minute walk from the back of the campground via a connecting trail, where campers can access non-motorized boating, a playground, and kayak rentals through the on-site B2B Wild outfitter. The Watson Lake Campground and Watson Lake Park are nearby alternatives if this facility is full.
Day trips from the campground reach Sedona and Prescott National Forest without much driving, and the Peavine Trail is bikeable from the site. Cell service is adequate for most carriers according to reviewers, and DoorDash delivery reportedly reaches the campground. For anyone weighing campgrounds around Prescott more broadly, this one trades some site comfort for direct trail access and full hookup convenience in a geologically distinctive setting. Pets are welcome, and the open granite terrain gives dogs room to move.
