Verde Ranch RV Resort: A Relaxing Oasis with a Few Trade-Offs

Verde Ranch RV Resort in Camp Verde, AZ offers a pleasurable stay with several top-notch amenities, earning it a 4-star rating.

Here's a breakdown of the pros and cons:

Pros:

Resort-Style Amenities: This resort boasts impressive amenities, including a sparkling pool, a well-equipped rec room, close proximity to sightseeing attractions, paved full hookup sites, and easy access to the Verde River.

Connectivity: Stay connected with reliable internet access.

Variety of Options: Choose from RV sites, cabins, and covered wagons to stay in and be sure to play a friendly game of pickleball.

Cons:

Highway Noise: Be prepared for some road noise from the nearby I-17 freeway, especially at night.

Arizona Summers: The Arizona heat can be intense during the summer months, so keep that in mind when planning your trip, swim when you can at any of the local swimming holes!

Cost Factor: Be aware that Verde Ranch RV Resort falls on the pricier side compared to other campgrounds in the area. Overall: Verde Ranch RV Resort is a great choice for those seeking a comfortable and amenity-rich camping experience. However, the highway noise, summer heat, and higher price point might be a deterrent for some campers.

Recommendation: If you prioritize comfort, amenities, and proximity to attractions, and are comfortable with the price and potential for noise, then Verde Ranch RV Resort is a great option. However, if you're on a tight budget or seeking a more secluded and quiet experience, you might want to consider other campgrounds in the area.

Nice, clean $$$$

Nice campground but sites tight, extremely close to one another. Gravel sites and ours was not level at all- dropped way down in the back. We are small and still had trouble finding a way to get backed in and achieve something near level. No picnic tables, fire rings. I guess nice for longer term camping. But not for just a few nights. And expensive.

Hi Liz! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. Would you mind contacting us so we know what site you were in? We apologize that you had trouble backing into the site and that it wasn't leveled. Our General Manager's email is tmiller@crrmgmt.com and we would love to hear from you.

We also do have picnic tables and firepits available for rent at an affordable price. Our RV site pricing is comparable to other RV Resorts in the area.

Take a break and relax at this resort!

GREAT RV park for big rigs. Very nice pool, great dog park with dog pee pads of turf all over the park (my dogs appreciated that over peeing on the gravel! Ha). We weren't super thrilled we paid so much for a back-in site to the Verde River when the river wasn't very full or the site very close to it. They nickle-and-dime you, even for an optional picnic table! But the pool and club house were beautiful, so it felt like a really nice break from the typical campgrounds. Truly a resort.

Very good site for large rigs. All sites have loose rockbase.

All hookups available at all sites. There is a dog park and a walking path along the river in which the dogs took a dip.

Tons of amenities, even golf cart rentals!

This place is huge, a little too big. Sites are a bit close together, gravel pavement is a bit uneven. Wished trash cans were closer.

ATV & golf cart rentals will help you get around. Pool is nice. Very strong water pressure, even their pamphlet tells you.

Little pricey for an overnight spot, but nice clean campground

Nice place, staff very friendly. Didn't use any amenities as it was just an overnight stop to dump, pump, clean the rig etc. Campsites were kept clean, plenty of activities if you wanted to participate.

Campsites are a bit close together. WIFI did not work at our site. Power, Water, sewer all worked with no issues.

Nice parking lot location.

Cons: Wifi service is a lie. Campers are too close together, considering the price. Shower luke warm depending on how much laundry is being done and it's a push button shower. One of two hot tubs was down during our stay.

Pros: locations is easy access to many of AZ desired destinations. Other campers very pleasant and keep their areas clean. Felt pretty safe, and the campers strive for nice family environment.

Conclusion: Walmart parking lot with some rocks between the spots and a lackluster shower. I felt ripped off when I found out that some people pay less for a month then we did for a week. Trust me there is no value difference between deluxe and premium.

Many pluses: a few minuses

Pros: Sites are large and clean. Many pull-through, but most are not flat. Our backup spot required much leveling. Many families with young children live here, so one must be very careful driving around the grounds because there are kids all over the place on scooters and bikes. There are 2 laundries, a pool, a club house with good wi-fi, pickle ball courts, and the Verde River flows nearby. Many pet potty spots and a medium-sized dog park. WiFi is intermittent in many areas of the campgrounds, but it’s better than most campgrounds, and the clubhouse WiFi is always good. There are many family-style activities in the clubhouse. Close to Sedona and many historical and archeological sites. The Fort Museum, Archeology Center, and Historical Society are great and have experts on site to give tours. Cons: the laundries are combined with showers and bathrooms, and they are almost always full. We are in the throes of the pandemic for our second year here, and few people wear masks. Kids and families often crowd about with no instructions from parents and no masks. We feel that isn’t safe for people our age even though we wear masks and are vaccinated. We also love kids, but parents need to be more sensitive to how their kids run over older people. Many of the children are home-schooled, and we see tweens and toddlers in the streets at all times of the day and night. There are many RVs with white supremacy emblems and huge flags. Having grown up in the South in the 1950s with parents who fought in WWII, we find this offensive. This campground is very close to I-17–some sites are within 100 yards, so the noise in some is bad. Elevation is above 3,000 feet, so nights are in the 20s and 30s; daytime temps range from 50-70. Prices went up a couple of hundred $ a month from last year. Last year, we paid for a month in advance, and when we left a week early, they changed our stay to weekly and charged us an extra $240. We should have just left because we felt that if we paid for a month, we should not have to pay extra. Anyone staying should ask questions about rates and leaving early.

Amazing RV resort situated in Camp Verde.

This RV resort is a short drive from Sedona, Cottonwood, Jerome, and Prescott. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We were there during the Thanksgiving holiday and only have one gripe. When we called they advised us that we could rent a fire pit at the store, but when we arrived they were all out and put us on a waiting list never to hear from them again. It was cold and windy in the evening so a fire pit would have been extremely useful. Aside from the fire pit everything was great. I wouldd recommend this resort to friends and family and will definitely be going back.

This campground is a fun place to stay for the kids. They have RV spots and cabins. They have a clubhouse with a reading section that includes some books you can borrow and a kitchen and gym with boche ball. They also have a pool table. They have a swimming pool, a splash pad and a playground. There isn't really shade here just some small bushes and trees.

Lovely, well maintained campground with spacious sites

Our second stay at Verde Ranch (first one was in the fall) and we will keep coming back. The campground is well maintained, with landscaping that will be beautiful once it's had a chance to mature. Pool and laundry facilities are clean and very nice, as is the dog park. Sites are wide, graveled and comfortable. Staff is friendly and helpful. Only downside can be the internet, which is occasionally temperamental, but the resort is aware and constantly working on it to boost connectivity and reliability. Overall, we love the place.

Large, relatively new campground with lots of amenities

There must be hundreds of campsites. We took advantage of the laundromat which was great. Too cold to use the pool or tennis courts. Based on the campground map, we chose a site near the river. However, the map does not show that the river flows right next to I-17. Interstate noise is a real presence. The staff were nice about letting us change to a site not so close to the interstate and refunded the difference in price for the less expensive site.

Awesome Park, Friendly Staff, Will Return!

This park is really close to sedona, if Sedona is too booked it's an easy and pretty drive from this park to Sedona Arizona. The staff is very nice and they keep the grounds very clean. We are here in January and the end of December and it was a lot colder than I would have imagined. That doesn't change it for us it's still a great Park and we will come back. In other pictures I noticed that the park look like it was dirt lots however it is all gravel and very well maintained. The clubhouse the pool the showers the bathrooms are all really nice and it is kid friendly!

Verde Ranch was an amazing stay for us. The Customer Service and Hospitality was truly why we came back. All the amenities one could ask for. Awesome sight!!!!!!

For a beginning camper this was a sight for sore eyes. As my travels cross country continued, I had been boondocking mostly along the way. Reaching Arizona I found that was not an option. So tired with a lot of miles on o stumbled upon this oasis.

Pulling in late I found that they have an honor system for late check in’s, this place had pull through sites available. It was perfect. Awaking the next morning to see the full site I was in love. So much so I stayed a few extra days.

The staff is second to none and the facilities were great. Super clean. Quiet and affordable. Large, and back in sites. Cabins as well.

I strongly recommend.....

A Good Basecamp to explore Sedona

I typically rate campgrounds as they fit into 1 of 5 categories. This campground will be rated as a Basecamp — grounds that offer a comfortable home base that you’re happy to return to after a day of exploring the surrounding area. Ratings for this category are based on: Value to cost: 4 Overall grounds: 4 Utility of sites (hookups, layout, accessibility): 3 Local Attraction Proximity: 5 Reservation Process/Ease of Getting a Site: 5 Amenities: 5 Customer Service: 4 Cleanliness: 4

Verde Ranch RV Resort is a newer RV campground located about 30 minutes South of Sedona. It offers lots of amenities including a big, lovely pool, laundry facilities, a decent sized workout room, a community center, pickle ball courts and more. In the age of COVID, a lot of these amenities are closed or restricted but we were able to use the pool on our visit. They offer different levels of sites based on price but we didn’t see much differentiation based on the price levels. We chose a covered site through their easy online reservation system as we were visiting in the dead of summer. We weren’t super stoked on our selection once we arrived. Our hookups were in the very far back corner of the space so we needed to choose between a small sliver of shade provided by the solar cover or the reach of our dump hose. Not ideal. We seemed to be in one of very few spots with this weird location for hookups. The end spots of the shaded area are hardly covered so it might not be worth it to you because these spots are pretty close together with no privacy in between sites. All sites seemed nicely wide enough to allow slide outs and big rigs. Plants between sites are all very newly planted and so don’t offer privacy yet.

From what we were able to access, the grounds seemed very clean and well maintained. The online reservation process was easy though it was hard to get ahold of the office prior to and upon self-check in. Staff we did encounter were friendly and, though there are a lot of rules, there was no policing.

The biggest draw for these grounds was proximity to Sedona (30 min), Montezuma’s Castle (10 min) and Tuzigoot (25 min). We enjoyed a visit to all 3 within our 2-day stay. We enjoyed our stay and the awesome pool in the desert heat but next time we might opt to stay a little closer to Sedona.
