    A place to sleep

This is an RV park with mostly long term residents. Good location near Hoorsetooth Reservoir and State Park, about an hour from Rocky Mountain National Park. Gravel lot with full hook ups but you are close to neighbors. No bathrooms or laundry. No bad for a place to sleep but we prefer more nature when camping.

    Nice!!!!

Nice park! It offers boating, Paddle boarding, swimming, and much more. It’s super groused most summer and springtime. Fall offers a more quite experience. It has full RV hook-up with back-in and pull-through sites. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a lot of fun.

    Loveland RV Resort

Fair Site Pricing & Nice Amenities But A Few Additional Fees

I wanted to stop into this area after exploring a few campgrounds designed more so for tent campers in the area. I noticed some of these spaces were not ideal for those wanting to bring their RV and have amenities and that really was something that I know many of the people I know really look for when finding their locations for travel. Loveland is a little further away from the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park but it offers many great things to those wanting to explore the area and still be within comfortable distance of the park itself. The RV Resort is designed for both larger and smaller rigs and offers a variety of comfortable amenities for campers of this style.

There are 4 basic styles of offerings at this location including full hook up, oversized full hook up, premium and premium back up sites. These prices range from$56 to$65 for base single night stay. They do offer both weekly and monthly rates as well for those really wanting to enjoy the area.

Something which I have found very common amongst these style of locations is that while they do offer base charges which do not include tax there are many times additional fees depending on certain amenities. This campground was no different with additional charges for parties of over 4 people, extra vehicles or pets. Additionally they do have a sizable$20 dump fee, I found this to be quite high, especially considering there is a free dump station only a few miles up the way at another facility which allows campers or passers by alike to use their dump station.

Something nice is they do offer a Good Sam discount if you belong to the affiliated program which is a few dollars off the price of nightly stay.

Additionally amenities include a pool and mini golf which were quite nice and a clubhouse with several really cool things inside. They have a playground for the kiddos and a dog park for the furry family.

Overall the park itself seemed to have wide roadways for navigating and though for my personal taste the sites are located pretty close together they were pretty typically placed for an RV style park. Unlike several parks I have encountered in the area and others, this place did not have the long term stay option readily flagrant and while they might offer it you do not see people who look like they have moved in and allowed their area to become homely and run down. Quite the opposite, the grounds were very clean and inviting, everyone was very friendly and nothing looked like a“there goes the neighborhood” moment.

    Quite and relaxing

We have stayed here twice, our favorite spot is 43, it is a roomy spot next to the river. Campground is very peaceful at night. There are not that many spots due to long term camping. They are close quarter rv spots, but plenty of room behind campers for campfires. Be prepared there is no phone or TV signal due to mountains. WiFi is available, but you have to go up to the store. We love this place and will make future trips there. Sites are all full hookup.

Great option outside Rocky Mt NP

Good Sam’s RV park with full amenities. We booked a water/electric online, but got bumped up to full hookups. Beautiful river going beside many of the sites. Newer bathrooms. Huge park with playground for kids. Our site was very wide and open, but we might just have been lucky. Most are tree covered sites and not packed in. Dog park. About 45 minute beautiful drive to Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.

Family owned and operated. They have a great long range plans for the improvement of the park with added amenities. Great progress has been made in cleaning up the park and making it more inviting. Most of the older trashy campers have left. There still is a fair amount of long-term campers but their spaces are looking much better and their campers are in better condition for the most part. all the spaces have full hook ups and there is room for big rigs. Our camper is a 42 foot fifth wheel. There is a laundry, clean restrooms and showers and mail service. There are not a lot of amenities for children at this point but those are in their future plans. This campground is actually located on the east edge of Loveland Colorado and on the east side of interstate I 25 and just south of Highway 34. For being next to the interstate, it is a very quiet campground with lots of trees and plants. A great place to stay while visiting the Rocky Mountains. They are not really geared for overnight camping but I’m sure they would accommodate if they had an open space. Their rates are reasonable and they seem to stay full most of the time time so it is best to call ahead and reserve a site. We stayed here in November and December 2020 And again now since April 1 and will be leaving mid June.

    Excellent location & amenities!

A truly enjoyable long term RV park with Airbnb cabins for family/friends to visit! The park is on Inlet Bay side of Horsetooth Rez, right up the road from the marina. lot's of accessibility to easy going paddle boarding/kayaking or paddle out and enjoy the wake of the boats for a little more challenge! Beautiful scenery from wildlife walking through the park and enjoying the sunset/sunrise on the rez! No need to fight for parking as you're already front and center of all the rez action! Cutest store on site that is well stocked and priced! I appreciated the assistance with having propane delivered to my RV by management and the upkeep of the park during winter/summer months. Very cost effective with easy access to pay online. Definitely one of the nicest and well managed RV long term parks I've been to!  Very family oriented, yet quiet and respectful! I highly recommend Horsetooth RV park & store!

    Adorable hidden campground

We had an A/C issue once we reached Wyoming and had to wait for a part. While waiting for it to arrive from Denver, we found a cute little RV park in Cheyenne, WY called AB Camping. It is a family-run, Christian campground and they served dinner until 8 pm. Who could resist some cowboy BBQ from the Wild West? The sites were full hook-ups, with free cable and wi-fi. There had nice restrooms with showers and a laundry facility. Most sites were shaded and the place was very neat and friendly. They also had a tent area and large pavilion. The boys ran around and played in the park almost until dark and then everyone had showers and settled in for a good night's sleep.Temperatures dipped down to around 50 degrees as we slept that night. The next morning, we weren't in a big hurry to go anywhere since the thermostat wasn't due in until around 1 pm via UPS. Jason caught up on some laundry and then we found a skate park in town to burn some more time. It was the nicest one I have ever seen and in a public park of all places. Glad to have found this little oasis to relax for a bit.

    Spotless Overnighter

This is a KOA journey, meaning it’s great for a stopover, and it is located next to a horse farm. If you are used to smelling farm life, then the smell won’t be a problem. This KOA is also one with long term/monthly residents but I will say the office, laundry and bathrooms were absolutely spotless! We spent 2 nights in our RV and a full day driving Poudre Canyon and it was perfect just for that. The staff was very accommodating! Office is open 8a - 8p.

    Lots to do here

RV park has level gravel lots with full hookups. Right off interstate on Exit 2, as you enter WY. Camp store has good supply of drinks, clothes and souvenirs. Cafe was closed but did look good. Ate at Senators Steakhouse and had buffet, including beef prime rib, bison ribs and bison burgers. Wednesday night they had open lic with live music. Bar had good selections of alcohol including some expensive wines. Great service.

    Bad

Unlevel sites. Quarter showers. Mostly long term or permanent residents. Seems like the short term RV sites were an after thought, this whole park needs major work. They will keep your full payment even if you leave early. Their website has a major virus, beware if using a computer. Look elsewhere, this is a cash grab at best.

    Ok for a stopover

Lots of long term semi-dilapidated rv’s here. It’s near a ranch, so there are some animal smells and quite a few flies. We also had a lot of earwig bugs at our site. New playground equipment was nice, and the store was well stocked. Try to get one of the spots closer to the playground side as they seem better maintained.

This is an old campground being remodeled to buy new owners and with a new name: Falcons Landing.

This is a quiet, laid-back Campground without a lot of amenities yet. Quite a few full-time residence or long-term residence. All ages but not much for children to do. We are full-time RV years but this area is where we are from with family around. We stayed here from April 1, 2021 and will probably be here till september. We are staying in a 42 foot grand design fifth wheel.

    Quick Stop close to Loveland

Campground is situated along the Big Thompson River. Big cottonwood trees. Easy accessibility for big rigs. Some items … water valves leak in lakes around entire park and many are leaking. No dog runs for pups, lots of places to walk though. There are long term “campers” at this park. Bathrooms were clean but dated.

Curt Gowdy Overall, and Jerre's Haven JH-09

OK, to be fair I've aged into travel trailer camping. My expectations may be skewed by my prior camping experiences. First and foremost, Curt Gowdy is amazing! Drove by Happy Jack road at least 100 times without realizing the gem of Curt Gowdy. Being new to the travel trailer community but an experienced pack camper, I book stays with our trailer that gives a hint of the views you can acquire when pack camping. I choose my site poorly. Nothing wrong with JH-09. In fact, after exploring Gowdy, few sites offer level parking, so be prepared to level up! This being said, look for sites in the North or South causeway loops or sites at Crystal Reservoir, as long as you don't mind dry camping. The lake and the hikes appear to be incredible. I did the Hidden Falls hike via Crow at 7:30 am on a Tuesday in September and was unaccompanied the entire hike, with the exception being a ranger maintaining a pristine trail near the end of the hike. This is rated as moderate, but if you hike at all, it is easy. Four miles total from the site, moderate grades, and incredible scenery. Gowdy is a gem, and it is up to you to make it fit your adventure because the opportunities are boundless.

    Quick Overnight Stop

The entrance to the campground was a little tight for 35’ fifth wheel. If you come in from the West prepare for wide turn. RV spaces were a little tight. That night as we were laying in bed we could hear our neighbors outside their trailer planning their next stop. You can see from the attached photo how close they were. RV spot with veteran discount was $50 - a little spendy for what you get. Bathrooms were clean, coin op laundry and good WiFi. Little BBQ restaurant on site. We arrived at 7pm and they close at 8pm so they were sold out of many items on menu. Prices were OK but side portions were small.

    Great BBQ

Funny way to title a campground review but it was the best part.

Our full hook up spot was super narrow with a large cottonwood that looked like it had been banged into a couple times by other RV’s. Dead branches hung down so we couldn’t use our awning and one scrapped the roof. Site G18

Our neighbors pulled in so their door was facing us. Which seems contrary to most camp grounds.. We’ve only experienced this in one other campground. A little uncomfortable when you walk out your door and your neighbors are right there at your picnic table. Luckily this was a one nighter.

I believe this campground could be spruced up and be a very nice campground especially at $50 a pop for a full hook up spot!

Yes the barbecue joint and the campground are run and or owned by the same people. My husband raved about the barbecue, it was pretty good. It appeared that lots of people from the campground we’re getting ribs and pulled pork and brisket.

We didn’t use the facilities but our close by neighbors stated that the showers were very nice.

I believe there are numerous better sites than the one we stayed in.

    Nice place!

We stayed for one quick night. The hosts were gracious. We had to make our reservation same day because of some delays. They were very accommodating and didn’t gouge us! Everything was clean and in working order. Very organized. Full hook ups on almost every site. Decent WIFI, even cable hook ups. Pet friendly with a small off leash dog run. Pretty quiet. Even though it was almost full. They also have a BBQ restaurant that smelled amazing. Wish we had time to eat! FYI- Google tries to take you in the exit. So go in where the BBQ sign is! We will come back!

    Words truly can’t describe

The positive comment, the staff is friendly. Someone helped back our RV into our spot, but they have to because the spots are soooo tiny and wedged between residential motor homes. The place looks more like a junk yard or an RV used sales lot, which it is! The dog park is the size of a postage stamp, but at least they have one. We needed a place to stay and it sufficed, but this is not an RV “park” in any sense of the word.

    Great KOA for Families!

Stayed here July 2019 with family in a camper trailer. Sites were a bit close to each other, but everything else about the KOA was fantastic! Very quiet and clean, which was nice. Lots to do - mini train rides around the property, swimming pools, mini golf, arcade, fishing, walking trails, paddle boats, ice cream socials. There is even a little herb garden managed by a local society. You can pick whatever you like and make your meals extra yummy! Also not too far from town if you need to run to the store for something. Will definitely be back!

    Low cost camping fun

As a Family with young kids, we had plenty of activities to do throughout the week. We utilized a back-in site with full hook ups, all services worked great except the Wi-Fi.

The pool and splash pad were great for on the hot days. We registered using our cell number and received daily text messages with announcements of events for the day including reminders of when the chuck wagon opened.

All the facilities where clean and well kept. I had an issue with my rigs electrical and they sent the technician out to verify the power at the post was good within minutes of my call. The technician even checked my power cable to make sure it was not the cause of my power issue.

The train only runs Fri, Sat, and Sun. Be sure to check what activities are being planned during your trip!

The roads are mostly dirt and gravel, if you have small kids still riding bikes with training wheels, be prepared to push them a bit.

    Great for people with horses

Overall, I had a good time here. Staff was friendly except for at the horse back riding. They don't let you ride if you look like you weigh more than 200lbs. RV parking is a little tight for bigger rigs but great tent spots. There is a horse coral for you at nearly every RV site. No hookups but was able to fill water tank. Queit, peaceful area.. Good firepits. The restaurant food wasn't that great. There are condos if you don't own an RV or tent. We went to Crystal Lake up the road and had a good day.
