The proximity to Interstate 25 at Exit 2 makes Terry Bison Ranch an accessible overnight stop for travelers entering Wyoming, though several campers note the highway noise proves minimal once settled. This working ranch operates as a full-service RV resort with gravel sites accommodating rigs up to 50 feet, complete with full hookups and level pull-through spots.
Sites sit relatively close together on gravel pads, which some visitors find cramped during busy periods like Cheyenne Frontier Days. "The rv spots are pretty close together, but the day after the concert (Tuesday) it cleaned up FAST," Thom P. observed after experiencing the rush. The ranch maintains its sites well with picnic tables and winterized water connections, though dust can accumulate during dry spells.
The property centers around its bison herd, offering train tours where visitors can feed the animals. An on-site steakhouse serves buffalo and beef, while a gift shop stocks camping supplies, propane, and tire air service. Additional amenities include shower facilities, laundry, and a camp store, though some reviewers report cleanliness issues during peak seasons.
Cell service reaches the campground reliably, and WiFi is available for guests. The ranch accepts reservations and allows pets, making it suitable for families traveling with animals. For those exploring the region, this location provides access to campgrounds around Cheyenne and serves as a convenient base for area activities.
Book deluxe sites when possible, as standard spots can become muddy during wet weather, particularly site 66 which multiple visitors specifically mention avoiding.
