We are located in the NW corner of Fort Collins, just five minutes from Colorado State University, ten minutes from Poudre Canyon and within one hour of Laramie, Cheyenne, Boulder, Estes Park, Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park. Our big-rig-friendly RV sites have 50/30 amp, water, sewer, WiFi and cable. Tent sites, cabins, and deluxe cabins are available to accommodate any kind of camper. The North Fork Poudre Campground is located along the Deadman Road west of Red Feather Lakes, near the banks of the North Fork Cache la Poudre River in a dense lodgepole pine forest. This is an older facility with short parking spurs that will not accommodate larger RVs. Each of the nine sites have a picnic table, tent pad and fire grate. Recreational activities in the area include hiking, stream fishing and four-wheel driving.
This place is a fantastic spot to lay your head! It is exactly as represented in the description. We did have a bit of noise from some very late arrivals that set up nearby, but it was otherwise an absolute joy to stay here. Any food your heart could desire is a short and easy drive away.
Staff were super friendly. The place did everything we needed for an overnight stay the drive in from RMNP was fantastic. Showers were clean(dated who cares, they worked. I’m not an instagrammer)
Stayed here 2024/09/11. Easy access, well marked and well separated dispersed campsites. Good views. Only downside was distant traffic noise from I-80. Would stay here again.
We stayed at site 7, big enough for our caravan of 3 campers. Very spacious! Great views and nice center fire pit!
We were driving through the area and needed a quick/easy place to camp for the night. Even in mid-July, we were the only people there. Spots are labeled well, with great fire pits at every sight. Rock formations were awesome. We nestled behind a rock and couldn’t even hear the traffic by nearby road. Definitely planning another trip soon
Spent a night here with my dog. Very cool rock formations along the road , very big spots, very peaceful and secluded from neighbors, open and beautiful. Will be staying again on my way through.
Our stay at this place has been nothing short of perfect! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff here has been incredibly friendly and accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure that our every need is met. If it’s a tent already set up and waiting for you, one of the many tiny houses on site, or even a Cabin with all the amenities- they will be able to accommodate you. While we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here, it is clear that there are ongoing renovations and improvements taking place. The potential of this place is evident, and we cannot wait to see the final result. Based on what we have already experienced, we have no doubt that it is going to be amazing!
If you’re going to the Mishawaka for a show, the shuttle from Riverside runs to the Amish every 15 minutes making it SUPER convenient to attend a concert. Don’t forget to grab some food before the show too!!
My wife and I spent a week here. We enjoyed seeing the kids playing in the playground and riding around the park on their bikes. Nearly every day a deer would come munch on the greenery right behind our rig. The staff were super friendly and I believe we received good value for our payment considering the prices and sold-out state of other nearby parks like Horsetooth Reservoir. The campground is right on the banks of the Big Thompson river which does provide a soothing background for those fortunate enough to have sites on its banks. The roads and campsites are dirt, and a little messy after a rain storm. I think more attention could be paid to mowing the weeds of campsites between users. The laundry facilities were underwhelming as well; there wer two broken washing machines while I was there, and I spoke to a permanent resident who stated that they don't do their laundry in the park because of the poor availability of the machines. The facilities were clean. It can be suddenly and very windy here, so most campers did not use awnings. The campground is about 35 minutes from Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Forest, two excellent destinations for anyone coming for a vacation.
Loads of options going down 103. Found a solid spot by the river that even had a few primitive structures built. Great fishing and pondering spot until neighbors rolled in on both sides. Guessing you can generally count on neighbors in summer months even in seemingly nestled spots quite a ways down 103 and it was a a random Monday. I still had plenty of space and privacy. But I could hear a group of RVers playing music through the trees (and they were in view, too) at night which led me to seek a new spot after night one.
Clean and well maintained campground. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site was well spaced from our neighbors, but other areas were fairly dense. Electric hookup worked, but no water at the site, and "public water" in the area was a broken water fountain. We filled up at the dump station. Shower house was close, only open 6am to 10pm, pay showers minimum $2. Excessive road noise during the day, it did quiet down each night. If we stay here again we will stay nearer to the entrance or get a cabin.
This place was an unexpected treasure. There is open parking at the picnic tables so you can face any direction you want. Extremely private and spacious. Very clean and safe place with welcoming hosts. I wanted a place to relax for a few days after some heavy traveling and this fit the bill. I am a Solo Traveler with a small friendly dog and this was a safe place for us. Owners have a friendly dog which came by to visit and gave my dog some company. This is open pasture land for dispersed camping however there is a shower available plus water in a Community Kitchen. I enjoyed the freedom of open parking and found it very easy to level my motorhome. I especially like the professionalism of the owners who emailed me once I booked their facility . Would definitely stay here again because it was so peaceful,relaxing, and safe.
I had it all to myself, so I parked wherever I wanted. Found a level spot not far from the portable potty. Very quiet. Fantastic hosts.
Great place friendly helpful. Gravel lot, some road noise but never heard any at night, facilities were awesome, heated, lots of hot water plenty of stalls, close to TA truck stop to eat or get food etc
Unlevel sites. Quarter showers. Mostly long term or permanent residents. Seems like the short term RV sites were an after thought, this whole park needs major work. They will keep your full payment even if you leave early. Their website has a major virus, beware if using a computer. Look elsewhere, this is a cash grab at best.
It is exactly what they advertise it as. A reasonably priced place to camp if your self contained. A safe location and close to town. If that's what you want or just if you want to stop and spend the night, go on
General: Many different options: tent sites (with or without hookups), back-in 50/30 amps FHU (with or without patio), Pull-thru 50/30 amps (options include patio and/or hot tub), camping cabins and deluxe cabins.
Site Quality: All sites are level and have a concrete pad. Although the sites are close together with no privacy between them, there is some separation with a grass strip.
Bath/Shower: Code to enter and clean with soap and paper towels.
Activities: So many options. My favorite was the half-mile fitness trail that circles the lake. Other activities include mini golf, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, bike rentals, a fishing pier, a pool, and a nicely appointed playground.
Other amenities include a library, laundry, train depot, paddle boats, and a small store.
While this is not our preferred type of camping, it suited our needs for a night en route home, and I loved the gravel fitness trail. It was not high season yet so some things such as the pool and paddle boats were not available, and the campground was not full so it was quieter than it would be on a summer weekend.
We stayed in two different spots. The first one was nice but the second one was so spacious and had so many trees and was far from the road so traffic didn’t sound too bad. Had many fires in the available fire rings. The place is busy during the weekend but dead during the week, especially when it started to cool down. The pictures will speak for the amazing views!
The campsites for tents were pretty close together and there were a lot of people camping, but the primitive spots were perfect and not far from the bathrooms. The trains were loud throughout the night and so were the the coyotes, but not a bad campsite.
This place is dump. I've had more pleasant stays in Walmart parking lots with homeless people for neighbors. The people running the place seem to hate their customers and have nothing in the way of Christian kindness. Everyone that I had the displeasure of interacting with had a level of rudeness and pretentiousness inversely proportionate to their IQ.
The washboard road coming off the highway is harsh but it smooths out when you get closer to camp. There are at least three camp site I saw that are all secluded by boulders and trees. Each one has established fire sites. Others have chopped trees and branches from the nearby trees, but I'm not sure if that is accepted.
On a Sunday night, a group of younger people were drinking and enjoying a fire. They weren't too loud and packed up and left before it got too late. It looked like it gets pretty popular so I'd get there early if you're planning to go on a weekend.
You'll hear distant gunshots from hunters in case you or others in your party are sensitive to that. There were also plenty of gnats in early October!
Fabulous rock formations and peaceful. It's well worth the ridged dirt roads and the drive to find the perfect spot.
Despersed camping with easy access and great trails nearby. Rock climbing also.
A nice lake and lots of private was a beautiful location though I happened across an area with lots of private land making it a challenge to explore for me no cell service. Very quiet from planes and light or any other noise pollution caught some epic views of does bucks a moose and a family of black bears bring bug juice the deer flys and mosquitos mean business.
I'm female, the male staff were rude and made me feel uncomfortable. Full hookups are $100/night. Our spot was muddy puddles on both sides with a picnic table 4 feet from our neighbors sewage line. Laundry didn't have a good spin cycle and took forever to dry. Not great.

It’s fairly close to town and to good hiking so it’s a good location.
Verizon service was okay but not great. We were able to work off of our hotspot but occasionally had issues.
We stayed two nights and loved it! Electric hookups (we used 50amp at our site) but no water hook up. Drinkable water close by at various locations within the campground. Some road noise but not bad at all. The lake was great for paddle boarding, canoeing, and kayaking.
