TravelerThe sites are a little close and it is a very family friendly campground. It is a really fun campground though! We rode bikes and paddle boarded. Gets extremely busy on weekends but nice and quiet on the weekdays. Checked in on a Wednesday afternoon for FCFS site. Plenty open.

RangerFor a stop on the freeway, this is a decent campground. Memorial Day weekend there are already loads of bugs. It would be a great spot in the dead of winter. There are quite a few trees, some amenities like toilets and a playground on site. There’s also a walk from the campground to the lake and a nice beach area there. We drove down to the south side and there’s a marina so it’s a great spot if you’re wanting to do some boating.
ScoutGate doesn't open until Memorial Day weekend. Keep that in mind when planning a visit here. TONS of places to camp further up if you are in a tent. Trailers should stick to the lower sections as it gets a bit difficult to navigate past the second campground.

TravelerWent with 3 kids 8-1.5yrs. We left a voicemail and were texted back letting us know about the availability. We spent Sunday to Monday on site. Checkout time was 1 pm. Which is perfect with kids giving us time to pack up. The site is intended for RV's and parking like a parking lot, with just enough space for your Tent and a canopy with 2 cars in the spot with the fire pit. Only Secondary Water available, it has a pump out and flushing toilets in the bathroom. There is a stream nearby with walking access. My littlest one walked around without shoes and was okay for grass and weeds to soften his feet. Another note is that this should be generator free. But we did have 1 person in the park run their generator past midnight. You can also hear the freeway as it is nearby.
TravelerCamped with friends we had cell service via t-mobile, att&t, and visible with varying strengths. No cost, first come first serve. Bathroom is a about a mile from the coordinates. More campgrounds open in June, no service at them. Popular trail with bikers. Lots of traffic even late at night.

We dealt with rain and even snow on the last morning… But there was green grass and a spot for fires and the Sheriffs rolls through and are super helpful as well.
We found a spot that was more of a hill, which made it neat to get around, but the site was LITTERED with spent ammo, broken glass and broken pieces of clay pigeons. Another group camping near us told us they found the same at their site so be weary of where you step up here.
Great for dispersed camping, but watch out for bears and mountain lions as well and make sure you follow the food rules and lock your cars. We didn't see or hear anything, but the Sheriff that stopped by warned us.
Cell service is also spotty here. I have Xfinity Mobile and I had decent coverage here and there.... everyone else had T-Mobile and they were also spotty, but more so compared to mine, so AT&T (who I think XM uses) is slightly better.
