    Great views

Arrived on a Sunday in September after the reservation only period. Only two campers (including us) on the campground. It is beautifully settled in the hills. The lake is not accessible at this time due to low water level, but the view in all directions is beautiful. Water and electricity hookups are available, free dump station, too.

    Great overnight

Very quiet, far enough off the road to not have road noise. Pool and jacuzzi, little bit of shade. The grass is nice and well maintained. The town has a grocery and a pizza place, nothing special.

Painted Rocks Campground — Yuba State Park

    Big rig friendly

There is not much to do in the area and the lake is seriously low, but it is a great place to park for a night or two if you want peace and quite and you have a big rig. We have a 42 ft motorhome and a separate pickup with a 6x12 trailer and we fit both in a pull through sie and it looked like there was another 40 feet available. We were in campsite #2 but it looks like there are other sites that are quite long. The site was level with water and 50 among power.

    Beautiful Mountain Views

Quiet little KOA, off the highway enough it was very serene. Each spot has a nice grass area. Laundry and bathhouses were in great shape.

    Nice Campground

I-15 noise. Tent campers a good set of noise canceling ear buds will take care of it. Quiet campground meaning no people running around shouting and partying. Clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave me a tent site that had nice privacy from rest of campground with plenty of trees and bushes.

    Clean and Quiet

We stayed here for one night on a road trip. We chose site 15 having never been here before because it was close to a restroom and we have a toddler. During our stay there was only one other person in the campground and it was quiet.

We arrived and set up camp at sunset. It couldn’t have been more spectacular. The view of Yuba Lake was great and the site itself was really nice. The shade shelter, tent pad, and table were very well taken care of and clean.

It was a bit windy (our site was on a hill overlooking the lake) so we didn’t really have a campfire but the sky was so dark you could see thousands of stars.

    We will definitely be back!

Great but don’t get the group site on other side of road

This place is a great place to camp if you have one of the single or double site next to lake. There is plenty of grass and great facilities. The group site on other side of road is not the best.

    Pleasant Surprise

We stayed there 6/6/21 on our way to Yellowstone. Great place for a pit stop. Very clean with friendly staff. Great location if you wanted an ATV vacation. Full hook ups. We stayed in site 8. We would stay there again.

Painted Rocks Campground — Yuba State Park

    Fine campground

Not a bad campground at all! Close proximity to the water, newer facilities at each site. We appreciated the shade over each table! The food prep table was a nice touch. As a heads up, the trees are not mature enough to provide any shade at all, so be prepared for sunny sites! Water hookups at each site, as well as water available throughout the campground. Vault toilets. There is a dump station at the entrance as well. Potable/drinking water is also available at the dump station.

    A nice, comfortable stop

We stayed here overnight on our trip and were very happy with the campground. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Most of the campground looks new or at least newly renovated. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. There is also a game room with foos ball and air hockey.

It’s an easy off and on from the freeway which is nice, but that does mean you hear the freeway from camp.

The host was particular about where we park but it was to avoid the sprinklers in the lawn. And there are rules about what can be on the lawn. It was nothing surprising or crazy though.

While we do not atv it looks like this would be a great place to stay if you did. They have a lot of information on local trails complete with suggestions.

Great location for overnighting along Interstate 15 or if you love ATVing

Great location if you ATV or just need a night along Interstate 15.  We were just traveling through but had some truck trouble.  The owners were so great and flexible as we were changing our nights daily.  I can't say enough about how kind and accommodating they were.   Showers, bathrooms, laundry and common areas were spotless.

We would definitely stay there again.

Perfect spot for an overnight stop

Really quiet, convenient and quite pretty place to stop overnight. We stayed in site 33 which was great because we didn't have to unhook our tow vehicle and you have no one looking in your front windshield. Sites are reasonably spaced and the host was nice and helpful. Will definitely stop here again.

Painted Rocks Campground — Yuba State Park

    Yuba Lake State Park

CAUTION: See GPS Coordinates so that you do not enter on the muddy dirt road like we did. Google maps took us to the park but an uninviting entrance to the park. Elevation 5,069 at site PR01. Painted Rock Campground. Cows had visited our site and left large pods before we arrived. There was a dump station. Our site had water and electric. The restrooms were just OK. Weather ranged in the 40s and 70s.

    Family Vacation spot!

We’ve been coming here for several years now, and it hasn’t disappointed! It is a simple yet adventurous place to hang out and stay a few nights at! We really love the lake and all the little trails we could mountain bike on! Good place for families or big groups to come to!

Perfect place for a nights rest

Nice little spot right off the highway. The man at the front was very welcoming, guiding everyone to their spot. Was able to book a res after closing hours which is always nice to be spontaneous. The place had everything we needed which was truly just a spot to sleep and bathrooms were very clean so I give 5 stars

    Fillmore KOA

    Comfortable, quiet and accessible

This, as a KOA Journey, is a great place to stay “along the way.” Spaces are level and have a nice, grassy area between sites with a picnic bench & fire pit. The surrounding area is scenic with cows in pasture and a mountain backdrop. We only stayed a single night and did not use any amenities. WiFi was very weak but the hookups are in good condition. We really appreciated the grounds with trees and grass. The staff we encountered were very friendly. Fillmore has some neat gems to scout out. The freeway is close by so access is a cinch, but the grounds are far enough away to be void of any road noise. When we arrived, the wind was consistently 45+ mph.... not sure if this is an extraordinary occurrence but the map says wind picks up frequently and to store your things. Multiple gas stations nearby with excellent prices. Lots of ATV/OHV paths around the area. A single night allowed for us to explore a little and feel rested. Would definitely return!

    Relaxing and Fun

I never knew there was so much to do in Fillmore. We visited the hot springs and lava tunnels. Kids had a blast. The KOA pool and spa were great. Sites are very close together and not all sites that say have a fire pit actually do.

Great for a weekend get away!

We stayed here a while back and loved the camp grounds. They are nice and well kept. Great for trailers or tents of any size. Depending on the location you reserve you'll have an area of grass and a spot for your vehicle. We love going there in the summer months. Even to just go fishing is great. They also rent paddle boats and canoes if wanted. Have a sandy little beach as well. We mostly go for the fishing though. Awesome place!
