Very practical - Right off the highway

Ok like the last reviewer we could not find a site in and around the Bozeman area and were headed east anyway so we call this site and finally was able to get a spot. It was really just a place to sleep for the night for us - not much to see unless you head over to the river. Sort of noisy so close to the highway so I’d ask for a back-in spot because those are somewhat more secluded and off the road. Clean bathrooms and cute shop in the office.

Best Site of our Trip

This site was incredible. Right along the river with serine views. We even stayed in loop C and heard the river from there. The sites along the river itself sort have their own private path down to the shore. I don’t think they are actually private but it felt like it. Even if you don’t get a river spot, the others are really in the forest so its a nice site. Don’t expect anything of the bathrooms but they were clean at least. We got a spot even during high season as there are some spots that are first come first serve. Nicest camp hosts we’ve met on our journey. I highly recommend this campground.

Nice place

Hard to review this place objectively. We had a bad experience. Note this place DOES NOT accept walk-ins (you must have a res). Well we didn’t realize this and found ourselves in a bind later at night. Called the number from google and a guy answered. We explained our situation and asked if we could choose an open spot (there were many) and pay in the morning. He was very considerate and agreed. We had the most FRIENDLY neighbors. Many longer term stays. People were clearly enjoying themselves here. went to sleep and immediately went to front desk to pay in the morning. The woman at the front desk was incredibly mean and downright aggressive telling me we were NOT welcome and that we broke the rules. She kept lecturing even after I said I just wanted to just pay for our stay and leave. While I paid she continued to spew anger. Thanks to her we’ll never be back. They should have had more signage that said walks ins were not welcome. We would not have bothered calling. This place is right on the lake though and it’s beautiful and had all the standard RV hookups.

Cozy & Quirky (In the best way)

This was a cozy little place. Many long stay residents and seemingly some part time houses which honestly makes it reliably quiet and peaceful. Very friendly hosting staff. Quirky because it feels like you’re staying at someone’s cabin. There’s an outdoor tool shop at the front, a little fish cleaning cabin that make you feel at home. And there’s cozy touches like bird feeders flower baskets at some sites. The only thing I didn’t like was that the lakefront wasn’t the nicest spot to swim or even wade. You could rent paddle boards and kayaks and while the prices were competitive with other shops we didn’t feel like spending $100 for a couple hours of entertainment for 2. Very close to walking and biking trails.

Perfect place for a nights rest

Nice little spot right off the highway. The man at the front was very welcoming, guiding everyone to their spot. Was able to book a res after closing hours which is always nice to be spontaneous. The place had everything we needed which was truly just a spot to sleep and bathrooms were very clean so I give 5 stars
