Functional with good views

Pros: Great views of the water and wildflowers in the meadows. Reasonable price. Everything works and the shaded picnic tables are a plus. 5G plus signal on ATT for anything you might need online. Downsides: It looks like there could be a lot of water pooled on and behind our site with a heavy rain. The pad has definitely broken up over time and isn't level. The fire pit is also sitting at an angle. We noticed two groups of campers with 4-6 extra cars having gatherings last night, so that might have been distracting if we were right next to them.

Ok park for a night

Very hot and not heavily wooded or shaded. Sites are basic but fine. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Area is pretty snd some sites have view of the lake.

Great campground

Great campground, electric and water. Only issue is the grass is always one high so bring a weed whip. We have family in the area, so we visit regularly and every time we stay here the grass is ridiculous otherwise I would give a 5 star!

Great Lake Campground!

The only reason I’m giving this campground 4 stars is because: the grass was tall at the campsite, could have been maintained better, RV pads are asphalt and not very level, only one bathroom has showers. Overall, we had a lovely Memorial Day weekend at this campground. It’s close to town just in case you need to make a quick trip for something. This lake is great for boating. There was a nice swim area and overall the campground was clean and quiet. There weren’t a whole lot of trees and none over the RV pads, so keep that in mind as far as the sun beating down on the camper. I’d still recommend this campground to a friend.

THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO CAMP!

OK. I’ve gonna say it. I ALMOST didn’t stay here because of the reviews although it’s convenient and there aren’t many other places to stay…. I’ve been full-timing for 2 years. I think I do a decent job of giving a place a decent review(good or bad). THIS PLACE IS A GOOD PLACE TO CAMP! Sure, the roads have some potholes… but I would rate the entire Dallas metroplex as WORSE. There is absolutely NO REASON not to camp here. The folks at the front gate were helpful. I avoided any rough spots in the road and arrived at a LONG and roomie site with a beautiful view of the lake. Although my rig is completely self contained, I checked out the water flushing toilets and they were spotless. I was so happy with this campground, I booked another night. There was some water around the water connection, but I stepped around it. The water worked perfectly. The Electrical hookups were properly wired. I backed in and used my extension power cord because the box was located midway from the rear. Since the space was so long… I could have pulled up a bit. I enjoyed my camping experience here. Any size rig will have plenty of room. It was quiet, had lots of space to walk the dog, the sites are spread out, the lake is RIGHT THERE, and all I can say, I’m glad that I made the decision to‘check it out’…

Not a favorite

I found this park to be maintained poorly. The sites are close together with little shade and are all in a big, level circle with limited to no view of the lake itself. When we were there the grass was at least a foot high, creating no play space for the kids in the ample open areas.  There is an area with equestrian sites. Overall, it seems more of a day-use, non-appealing area.

Spacious sites, overgrown grass

Man, this would have been a great little camp ground if the grass wasn’t so overgrown. Nothing like taking a nice shower and then having to walk back to your campsite in 2 feet of grass and get bit up by all the bugs in the grass! The bathrooms were clean and campsites were spacious. Pretty view of the lake.

Needs new roads

View was great and camp hosts were very friendly but the roads are horrible! The sites weren’t bad and ours was pretty level. The location is nice on the lake with lots of sail boats sailing by. There is plenty of space between sites, but no trees so not a lot of privacy. Probably wouldn’t stay again.

Run down

It must have been nice at some point but it's obvious budget cuts and other priorities have taken its toll. Bad roads into and thru the park, grass in bad need of cutting, garbage (glass bottles and dirty diapers) on the "beach".

Sites are fairly well dispersed with water and electric at each. Be careful though, because the asphalt is crumbling and man u have ankle-breaking drop offs between the parking pad and the picnic table.

Reasonably priced and located, but needs some maintenance

RV sites have water and 50/30 amp electric and there are 12 tent sites. We had a nice view of Lake Lavon. Grills and tables vary by site, some are very old, but many have been replaced. There are trees- some large enough to provide some shade if desired, but most small enough to allow satellite reception. The sites are well spaced and are"mostly" paved with aging asphalt. The roads are in need of repair, with numerous potholes, some very large, but the attendant did say that the park was on the CoEs list for repairs. There is a dump station just outside the entrance. The entry gate is locked from 10PM to 6AM, so plan accordingly if leaving the park, lest you park outside and walk back to your site. Overall, this is a good value, and one of the few non-RV park options in the greater Dallas area.

Nice Park on Lake Lavon

Enjoyed a night here. Nice, clean, open RV park on Lake Lavon. It’s well established but in good shape. Big level RV sites with grills and covered tables. You’ll enjoy this park!
