Stayed 3 nights in sites 12 and 13 on our way across the country. Super clean and very well maintained. Just a short Lyft ride into the city.
We loved our stay here. A pretty typical NP campground. Nice wooded sites, fairly spaced. We had a pull through, there were lots of both, in all different sizes and shapes. Some spots were definitely better than others. Ours was tricky to get into (a pretty big curve on the driveway), but once we…
Last minute find after check in had closed. Ranger Chadwell helped us find a spot for the night and gave us info about the park.
Bathrooms were clean, showers with hot water sites overlooking the lake were great and it was very quiet at night.
Well kept campground. Lots of space between sites and very hilly- all sites are like a deck. If able get sites lower toward the water. Does have primitive sites
Camping on raised wooden platforms was like no other campground I’ve ever seen. The park ranger claimed it is the only campground in the world like this. Tons to do in the park as well. We went to the visitor center, nature center, storybook hike, and walked around the lake.
We got there late for a primitive site and all the sudden the mgr and police show up mind u the mgr passed us 3 times instead of stopping as a professional mgr should he calls police and tells me the website does not state primitive lol. It was cluttered loud and tacky.
We booked a group site and had 3 tents. It’s very woodsy and tranquil. Bathrooms were close by and air conditioned too! The showers are in the general store building where the post office is so a short walk or drive there. It’s coin operated with a change machine for bills. $1.50 to turn the shower…

Very nice campground on Cordell Hull Lake. Kayaking, boating, fishing and swimming are possible. Waterside camping available. Cell service is spotty and minimal WiFi is available to check in with family or check the weather. Very peaceful. Had a nice, stress free 3 day weekend.
We didn't and ended up driving an extra hour to get to the campground.
Our only complaint is the site was not level. When we were able to get the camper level the tongue was 40" high. We had to borrow 6 8X8 blocks from the Rangers in order to stabilize the front
Other than that, we enjoyed the…
4 miles south of I 40 , 35 miles southeast of Nashville. Very nicely maintained, full hook-ups on the Caney Fork River, just below the damage. Great camp host and very quiet. Stayed in #20 spot, arrived with a 30 minute rain deluge. #20 needs a load of pea gravel to facilitate drainage. Looks as…
Bathrooms were clean and convenient. Sites were a bit dirty from previous campers, and there wasn’t much room to park a car- the host told us to just park in another camp site because you could t park at your site without blocking the road.
This is a great campground. We love it here. We’ve been here three times now and will keep coming back. The staff is friendly and engaging.
We loving camping at Barren River! Plenty of playgrounds and trails for our kid. Clean bathhouses if you need them. It can get pretty crowded in the summer months so book early and try to get a spot near the boat ramp if you plan to bring your boat. Beautiful lake and great bluegill and cat…

We only stayed for two days but it was a great experience. We were about 20 mins from downtown Nashville and we did that for the first day but the 2nd day we spent all day in the campground. We rented the pontoon and enjoyed the beautiful lake. Highly recommend bringing bug spray for your RV…

I’ve stayed all over the mammoth cave area and this is a beautiful place to stay as well. I keep coming back because it’s so pretty!
