Great for the price and location

Stayed here to be close to the NP and it is a great little campground for a reasonable price. Big dog park with pond on the other side of the park. Sites are uneven but my favorite part was the wooded path.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

      Silver Springs Campground

      Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

    Guide to Fairview Park

Several camping options exist near Fairview Park, Ohio, within a 30-mile radius. Most campgrounds in this region operate seasonally from April or May through mid-October due to northeast Ohio's cold winters. The area features a mix of private campgrounds and state parks with varying terrain from wooded sites to open fields.

    What to do

Fishing opportunities: Punderson State Park Campground offers multiple fishing options with a dedicated lake. "The park is very nice. Great Lodge. Nice lakes and cabins to rent," notes John R. The park includes boat rentals and easy lake access for campers.

Hiking trails: Heritage Farms provides access to hiking opportunities close to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. "Located about ½ mile off the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath, this campground is a part of a 5th generation working farm," shares Shari G. The unique setting among Christmas trees creates distinctive hiking experiences.

Biking access: Silver Springs Campground serves as an excellent base for biking excursions. "This would be a great home base for biking and/or exploring the Cuyahoga Valley NP," mentions Karla J.B. The campground's proximity to dedicated bike paths makes it convenient for cyclists.

    What campers like

Clean facilities: Findley State Park Campground receives praise for its well-maintained facilities. "Shower houses are clean. Canoes and kayaks are available for renting. Many musicians set up camp and would jam out for some live evening music!" explains Kimberly C., highlighting the social atmosphere.

Family activities: Camping near Cleveland provides numerous structured activities for children. "We had a good time taking the kids to the arcade," shares Luis G. about their experience at American Wilderness Campground. Many sites include playgrounds and scheduled weekend events.

Pet amenities: Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA offers dedicated pet facilities. "We had a nice time with our kids, friends and dogs. The dog park was a bonus... we camped right next to it. Perfect!" mentions Christy D. Most campgrounds in the area welcome pets with specific designated areas.

    What you should know

Site conditions: Many campgrounds in the region have challenging terrain. "The sites greatly vary on size and flatness so make sure you look at the pictures of the site before you book some are basically the parking pad and a fire ring, some are big and flat some are on an incline," advises Joe I. about Punderson State Park.

Water quality concerns: Several campgrounds have notable water issues. "I'm not sure what's up with the water, but it smells like metal and you're probably better off bringing your own drinking water," reports Derek N. This is common at multiple locations, so bringing drinking water is recommended.

Booking windows: Popular sites fill quickly during peak season. "Very nice, comfortable campground, kids loved it. Only downfall is trying to find an open spot for reservations. Place is booked most of the time. If you're planning a holiday weekend you need to book 6 months in advance," advises Jeffrey L.

    Tips for camping with families

Dog-friendly options: Pet friendly camping near Fairview Park, Ohio includes several sites welcoming four-legged family members. "We stayed in the primitive area and it was just ok. Only a port o potty was available in that area but you could walk to a different area for restrooms and showers," shares Greg A. about American Wilderness Campground, noting the bathroom access considerations.

Playground access: Willow Lake Park Inc offers multiple recreational facilities for children. "Good price very kid friendly, swimming lake and a pool, also a fishing lake. Mostly RV but some tent," explains Kerri D. The separate swimming and fishing areas provide safe recreation zones.

Weekend entertainment: Several campgrounds schedule regular weekend activities. "During the band and the day they have a concession stand open with really good food, the girls that work in there are very lovely," notes Ivory L. about weekend entertainment at Willow Lake Park.

    Tips from RVers

Overnight turnpike options: The Vermilion Valley Ohio Turnpike RV Lot provides convenient overnight parking for travelers. "Clean with electric hookup for $20. Dump station as you exit. Gas and convenience items are extra helpful. Safe environment to snooze overnight," advises Susan B. These service plaza sites offer basic amenities without reservations.

Leveling challenges: Many campgrounds require significant leveling equipment. "The lots are not even close to level. You will need a lot of blocks to get close to level. Saw one RV with auto levelers with his tire about foot off the ground," warns Coy about Punderson State Park. Bringing extra leveling blocks is essential at most area campgrounds.

Hookup limitations: Check hookup details when booking RV sites. "Very few full hookups. Rest of the sites only have 15-20 amp service," notes Coy about Punderson State Park Campground. Most sites in the region offer electric but may have limited water and sewer connections.
